Lindsey was very patient with our senior dog and even took extra time for our dog to show her the problems we were concerned about. She also answered all the questions we had and you can tell she cares alot for the dog she’s working with. Book with her!

It was obvious from the beginning that Crystal’s passion is dogs. Our 2 small dogs had some difficult habits when they came to us. She was able to redirect their behaviors into positive ones. She is very patient. Crystal started building trust with both dogs from the beginning. She built trust with us too, improved our confidence which enhanced our bond with our dogs, and reduced the anxiety we had with them in social situations. She was always very punctual, which we greatly appreciated. She still checks in with us to see how the girls are doing. I highly recommend Crystal.

I was really disappointed with my experience. I paid $93 for a consultation that could have easily been done over the phone. During the session, the trainer didn’t even interact with my dog and basically just asked me questions from a pre-filled questionnaire. At the end, I was given two training plans that felt generic and AI-generated, rather than personalized to my dog. Overall, I felt like I didn’t get the value I expected and would not recommend this service.

Kate is PHENOMENAL. She was always on time and her communication is impeccable. She has the knowledge and ability to work with any breed and disposition. My puppy was extremely stubborn and would not listen. Now my dog has great recall, fully potty trained, obedient, walks tremendous on a leash, and can also do a dozen or so tricks. She also gave us the knowledge to continue the lessons taught after she finished her session with our dog. I have recommended her to several friends, colleagues, and customers who also rave about how much better their dog is after a few sessions with Kate.

Leah F is our go to person for anything dog. In all seriousness, she is more than helpful with any unwanted behaviors in an out of the house. She cares so much about any dog she's with that she notices if something seems off. What I mean is she is a kind and gentle dog trainer with the knowledge and experience to know if a dog may need medical attention.

About: My focus is on giving pet owners the ability to train their dogs from the comfort of their own home through virtual training. Although there are benefits to both in-person and at-home training, for certain dogs the training process goes a lot smoother when there aren't as many outside factors in the picture, as well as owners having the ability to get dog training without the stress of having to work around schedules and times to leave the house. I want to bring the same beneficial training to you right from your home!

Dog Training FAQs

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Trainers listing on Rover must be credentialed dog trainers, commit to reward-based training methods, and pass a background check to offer dog training in New Castle.

Reward-based training encourages dogs to offer desired behaviors by reinforcing the behavior with something the dog likes; treats, play, or toys. Reward-based training prioritizes using the least intrusive intervention; it promotes thinking rather than punishing mistakes.

When rewards are used, the likelihood the behavior is repeated increases. The positive connection to the reward results in making learning enjoyable, strengthens the human animal bond and over time leads to consistent desired behaviors.

Training can happen many places — your home, a park, a store, or anywhere else that you and your trainer decide is best for the training you are doing! Many trainers will recommend training in your home. This allows them to observe your dog in their natural environment so they can effectively assess and best help reach your training goals.

Trainers will often mention on their profile where they typically hold training sessions, but you can always contact a trainer to learn more!

If you’re searching for a dog trainer in New Castle for the first time, visit the trainer’s profile and select the Contact button.

If you have an active request or have booked a service with a trainer before, learn more about how to do this in the Rover app or on your computer.

Rover makes it easy to find New Castle dog trainers to provide loving care from their own home. The background-checked, 5-star trainers you can find on Rover will work with you and your dog to build new skills and address behaviors. Dog trainers can work on:

  • Puppy training, adult dog training, agility training, clicker training and advanced training.
  • Behaviors such as barking, leash manners, leash reactivity, house manners, jumping, fearful behavior, anxious behavior, separation distress, recall, biting, chewing, mouthiness, potty training and resource guarding.

Of course! Having a trainer that is the right fit for both you and your pup is an important step to reaching your training goals. We recommend reaching out to any trainer that interests you. Your initial request is not final until both you and the trainer decide you want to move forward with booking.

Also, trainers may offer or require consultations. Make sure to ask trainers so you can make the best decision for you and your pet.

Many trainers on Rover indicate experience in a wide range of behaviors, from puppy training to more advanced behaviors and training types.

Review a trainer’s profile to see if their experience aligns with your needs, and if you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact them to ensure they’re the right trainer for you and your pet.

We get it—sometimes plans change and you may need to cancel your dog training service. You can cancel an upcoming booking directly from the Rover app or your computer, in accordance with your trainer’s cancellation policy.

Note: If your dog trainer requested to cancel this booking, then they need to cancel from their account. Please contact them via Rover Messages.
