“I’d never used a cat sitter before, and Ashley was amazing! At my request, she came to meet me and my cat a week before I left, and she immediately made me feel like we were in good hands. While I was away, I could set my watch to her daily updates, and from the looks of the many wonderful photos she sent, my cat was very happy to see her. She also went above and beyond by carrying multiple packages up many flights of stairs, and she filled me in on anything else I might need to know about. If you’re new to all of this and looking for someone warm and trustworthy, I can’t recommend Ashley enough!”

About: Hi, I'm Lauryn! I have over 400 hours working as a dog trainer/doggy daycare attendant, but I love all animals. Note: I LOVE small dogs! If you have a tiny three pound Yorkie or Chihuahua, please book me!! They have my heart! I spent a lot of time working with troubled, difficult, energetic dogs and a size range from the tiniest Chihuahua to the largest Great Dane. While I do have some experience as a dog trainer, I mainly supervised large groups of dogs and worked one-on-one with dogs that could not be around others. I have been bit, scratched, chewed on, peed on, yes, other things as well, but nothing has deterred me from these animals so far and I don't believe anything will! I am fully familiar with canine behavior and there's genuinely few things that make me happier than helping an animal to thrive and be happy, then returning them to an even happier owner. I have done basic first aid on dogs, made special-diet meals, given medicine, socialized puppies and worked with semi-aggressive dogs. I love cats, but do not have as much experience! However I did help care for a family member's ill senior cat, doing drop-ins and administering medicine to it. I am not as familiar with feline behavior but just as eager to drop in, make sure everything is good, feed them, give a cuddle (if they want it!), and go on my way. I also LOVE reptiles and other small animals! As a reptile and small animal owner myself I am quite knowledgeable of their care and more than willing to be the person to feed your reptiles their gross little bugs and make sure your hamster has enough food to stuff their fat cheeks and go back into their burrow. :) I plan on going to get my bachelor's in veterinary science starting this fall, and when I graduate I'll be applying to vet school! I am overly enthusiastic at the opportunity to care for others' pets, gaining even more experience that will be valuable to my future. I am a college student who has been working at a doggy daycare for over a year. While my schedule can be tight, I make sure to be available whenever my clients need me. I do better with drop-ins and walks. I exercise caution around animals who find me unfamiliar and am sure to have a calm, welcoming aura when greeting one. I wear unscented products so that your animal(s) can recognize me better by scent. I respect your home and everything in it - I will not go anywhere or touch anything you don't want me to. I appreciate clear intentions and lists of what you would want me to complete. I also do not judge your home or you as a person. If I am dropping by your house I am there for one reason- to temporarily take care of your animal and ensure their safety and wellbeing. I do have an emergency contact and I have two people minimum that know the address of where I am when I am doing visits/walks for safety reasons. Note - I am still a younger person but this does not mean I can be taken advantage of. If your dog is aggressive towards me in any way that directly threatens my wellbeing, and you did not disclose your animal is reactive or a possible biter, I will immediately leave, mark the service as done and contact Rover support. I don't have an issue with excitable dogs who may nip me- I have an issue with aggressive dogs who want to bite me. I am not a trainer with twenty years of experience. I cannot help your aggressive dog. Please assess the information I have given about me as a person and decide if your reactive dog would do better with somebody with more experience. Thank you.

“Melissa is amazing! I ended up booking her very last minute due to my husband’s travel and it was my first experience using Rover. I didn’t get the chance to meet her in person, but we did talk extensively over the phone and she told me about her history, sent me links to her reviews and just chatted about life. She is an angel! When she realized that she worked so close to my house, Melissa even dropped by twice on the first day just to help me and my pup feel less anxious. Lauryn S.
“I’ve known Lauryn for a long while now and it’s always been very clear she has a serious passion for animals. Not only does she show great care towards the animals in the work environment, but within her home life too. She owns multiple pets, each of which being treated with great compassion and well tended to. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that she is more than qualified to handle pets of all shapes and sizes and show each of them the same love and affection. Lauryn has worked in two dog shelters now and, while in both, she has displayed a fantastic ability to handle different personalities and different challenges during work. She is hard working, full of passion and well equipped for pet care.”
