“I found Sandra last year when I went on vacation, I had two dogs and didn’t realize at the time but the oldest one had a brain tumor that hadn’t been diagnosed at the time of my vacation. Molly was very restless, Sandra was very patient and tried soothing music to help her. After many test and few months finally was diagnosed with the brain tumor. This year my other lab tore his ACL a month before I was suppose to leave on vacation and had surgery 3 weeks before I was due to leave. 12 week recovery time and very strict instructions I was going to cancel my trip, I reached out to Sandra and she said I understand if you feel like you need to cancel but I have had labs with torn ACL and had surgery and I will follow the surgeon instructions and give Bailey lots of love. Since Bailey sleeps in bed with me and wasn’t allowed to jump up or down I bought adult dog bed and slept on the floor with him. I left a crate for Sandra to put him in at night but she chose to sleep on the dog bed on the floor with Bailey. To have someone that is knowledgeable and cares for your pet like you do is priceless and to know I didn’t have anything to worry about. Sandra gives me lots of updates and Bailey loves her. My son booked a last minute vacation in June and wanted me to go when I checked Sandra availability she was booked I didn’t trust anyone else with Bailey with his recovery restrictions. I cannot say enough good things about Sandra she is definitely a true dog lover and piece of mind so I can really enjoy my time away. Thank you Sandra for all you do for me and especially Bailey.”

“Meliah did amazing with our girls. We knew they were being cared for with love. Would definitely recommend her to anyone needing someone to look after their fur babies. She sent us pictures and updates daily Of them and they looked happy and content with her.”

“If I could Jake more stars I would. He sent me daily pictures of Teddy and I could see that they had a good relationship. He was there for Teddy, walking him several times a day. I came home the house was in perfect order. I have already scheduled his next stay. I am thrilled that Teddy and I found Jake.”

“She does a great job, our pets are always well taken care of, and our home is always in order when we get home. This is the second time she has stayed at our home to watch our pets! Highly recommend her!”

About: I do not take payment outside of the rover app or any other forms of payment! I have taken care of animals big and small for most of my life; goats, chickens, cats, dogs, geese, rabbits, fish, snakes, rats, geckos, tortoises, pigeons, and probably more. I have pet sit for many friends and family members, and now that I have a cat of my own, I know how much trust one must put in someone to watch their pet. I have also cared for animals in a professional setting at Madison Children's Museum (where I cared for chickens, pigeons, crested geckos, turtles, tortoises, and rats) and was trained in their care. I am used to feeding my cat and cleaning her litter box every morning. Along with this, I sweep because she is a menace who launches her litter across the room. I will treat your pet as if they are my own family, talking to them as if they can respond, and giving them all the love I have. I will also follow any special instructions you have for me, and try to keep your pet on their preferred schedule - I want you both to be as comfortable as possible.

About: I've helped take care of dogs for friends and family since I graduated from college in 2016. I'm a thoroughbred jockey currently off riding due to injury, and apprenticing to become a dog trainer. I have multiple friends that train dogs professionally, my personal dog sees multiple trainers regularly, and I learn new things every day. From obedience to behavior to nutrition, I value all of the practical use, knowledge, and love I can apply to any dog I get the opportunity to work with! I'm a thoroughbred jockey currently off riding due to injury. I have a lot of free time now, and I've started to fill it by gaining as much knowledge and practice in professional pet and sport training for dogs and cats. Rover is a way I may be able to help out my community by applying everything I'm learning for pets and people that need someone that cares about their animals the way I've cared about animals my whole life. At home, I have two lovely house cats and one rambunctious puppy. My cats like their space and will ask for love when they want it. My puppy needs structure in his day to balance activity, learning, enrichment, and rest. I am more than comfortable providing the kind of care any client wants for their furry family members. Whether that's daily enrichment, getting out in the world, or learning an off switch at home. I'm familiar with excited jumping on guests and earning trust from nervous or shy animals. I have Ruffland crash tested kennels in my car and can provide enrichment and new adventures if requested! If you don't have a fenced area around your home, and you are comfortable with it, I do have 20ft long lines I can use so the dogs get a chance to be outside to play and do their business while also ensuring their safety. I've always been an animal lover, and now that I have free time in my life, I want to provide knowledge and time for other animals and their humans that need a helping hand.
“Angela was wonderful with our Annie, prompt and attentive and kept us updated throughout out the day with photos. Angela was very personable. We are on vacation and so happy she was available to watch Annie on the days we're out and about.”

“Eric was great! He took great care of our snuggly beagle and our home. Chester was at ease with Eric and we could tell that he got all the treats and affection to which he is deservedly entitled. We will definitely ask Eric to sit for us again on our next trip.”

About: I have had dogs and cats in my life for over 50 years. I was so lucky to grow up in a home that was the local Noah’s Arc. This childhood formed my commitment and love to animals. About 20 years ago, I decided to enter the world of pure bred dogs and have been an avid exhibitor and breeder of Pointers and Ridgebacks focused always on good temperaments and health. I love dogs and really believe it’s important that each animal I care for, feels at home, comfortable, pampered, exercised and loved. I have 4 dogs that are super casual and it has been very easy to bring animals into my home. I will only take 1 or 2 dogs at a time, as I want to be able to provide the best care possible for them. Your animals are treated as though they are mine and the care and love they will experience can only be exceeded by you. It’s always stressful for animals to be away from their families, so the more I can do to relieve this stress, the better I feel. I always tease my clients that their dogs may come home a little spoiled. I’m very much available all day really to take care of the dogs as my schedule is very flexible. In addition my brother lives with me and he helps me take care of the dogs. There is always a person at our house while your dog will be visiting. I also offer a military discount for those that have or are serving our beautiful country. I do not work outside of the home, which provides me with a lot of flexibility to provide dedicated care to your pets all day. I think it's important dogs that stay at my house receive the same amount of attention as they would at home and as my dogs do. I also believe it's important not to disrupt their daily routine, so I work closely with owners to understand each Dog needs.
“Our dogs love Jessica and I know we can trust her with her with their complicated meds schedule. She sends photos and updates regularly and it is so precious to see her friendship with our dogs.”
“Susanna is the absolute best!!! She is the sweetest, kindest, most gentle and loving human. There was an instant connection with her and I. And her and our pets. I felt safe and comfortable with her and my pets in a way I have never had. She gave updates. And I felt like i was talking with my friend. I never had to worry once with our precious cargo. I knew they were well loved, and well taken care of. She’s just the most magical human. Bringing a sense of calm to our entire household. ❤️”

“This was my first experience with Rover and I couldn’t be happier! Diego was a pleasure to meet and the animals just adored him. He was very punctual, polite, and curteous. I will be Diego for this service many more times!”

This is the second time I have used Sandra. I can relax on my vacation knowing she is taking care of my fur babies. Sandra goes over and beyond anything I have asked and she gives the best care and lovings just like I would, she treats my pets like she would her own. I highly recommend Sandra and will always use her if she is available.

Stephanie is a great pet sitter! We were gone for about a week and we arrived home to happy pets! We have a full house with 2 dogs, 3 cats (1 being diabetic), rats and a tortoise and all were well cared for! We received multiple pics and check ins. It was nice going on vacation and not worrying about our pets and home. Thank you Stephanie!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Moon Lake Estates walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Moon Lake Estates maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Moon Lake Estates choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
