“Brody & Mallory were great with our two (very) excitable dogs. They were super responsive with excellent communication before and during our bookings, sending plenty of photos that put our minds at ease. We will definitely hire them again.”

About: I've owned and taken care of dogs my entire life. I'm proud to be one of the first people friends and family call when a petsitter is needed. I love walking, and I love dogs. This seems like the perfect opportunity to exercise and get my animal fix! I'm currently working full-time Monday through Friday. I can do evening walks after 5:00 PM (as weather allows) and I can do weekends between 9:00 AM - 6 PM. My current apartment doesn't allow pets, but I can housesit on weekends or in the evenings if the location is somewhat close to my work in Waterbury. I'm a long-time vegetarian, and have always had an extra sensitive heart when it comes to animals. I think that earning an animal's trust is such a privilege and gift, and I honor that. I cannot house pets in my current apartment, but I will follow the guidance and knowledge of the owners in their homes and while on walks.
“My cats adored her! My oldest cat is easily distressed and anxious at her old age and she was completely comfortable with Danielle. My younger cat clearly enjoyed her visits as well. I could easily tell their state from Danielle’s consistent photos and messages from her visits. It was the first time I returned home and my cats were not distressed from my time away. Danielle’s gentle, thoughtful, and clear communication made me feel relieved while away. I Highly recommend her and will absolutely use her again in the future.”

“Stoph is a wonderful dog sitter, reliable, clean and took great care of my Millie! You can trust her any pet. She remembered all of the instructions and Millie was well care for.”

“Marissa was very professional and did a wonderful job caring for my cat Eddie. Eddie is skeptical of strangers and hasn't felt comfortable approaching everyone who's watched him, which means he can be pretty stressed by the time I return. Within the first visit Eddie was comfortable approaching Marissa for treats/scratches, and his stress was very low when I returned!”

“Becca provided a loving & caring environment for Loki which was evidenced in the photos she sent me and in Loki's shining, well cared for, brushed fur coat. There was absolutely no issues and only positive things to say about her dedication to the pets put in her care. I cannot thank her enough!”

“Sarah was fantastic. She was available on short notice and did a great job of taking care of my cats and communicating with me about her visits. Thank you so much, Sarah!”

“Miranda was wonderful! She took on our cats very last minute and they warmed to her far more than most. Her calm presence really helped our skittish babies feel safe. Her photo updates captured their quirks well and I was assured by both her competence and kindness that they would be well cared for!”

About: When I was growing up my family always had dogs and cats. I have two dogs of my own (I have a senior shepherd mix and a 1.5 year old lab mix) as well as a cat. I work with middle school students during the school year and would love to spend my summer taking care of animals. My dogs are my priority so I can’t commit to overnights but with my days free this summer I would love to do some dog walking, house sitting and cat sitting. I work full-time during the school year but I have the summers off with plenty of free time to spend cuddling with some cats. I’d love to do dog sitting as well but am not sure I can commit to overnights as I have my own two dogs at home who need me but I’m open for daily support such as walks or feeding during the owners’ work hours. My dogs use a long lead out back and aren’t left unsupervised for long. When my cat was alive he had his own separate space away from the dogs as well as easier access to food, water and litter as he was arthritic.
About: Need me to jog around the block with your blonde lab Molly? Play in the sand or snow with your doodle dog? Tug of war with your tank named Hank? Referee a Dutch Shepherd & the neighborhood cats? I’m the Doug ya need. From an 85 pound Dutch Shepherd named Phillip J Fry to a 10-pound tuxedo cat named for the Egyptian Dog God Anubis, I’ve had my share of furkids to spoil, train, & love on. If you want someone to go the extra mile, who’s willing to get on the floor for hardcore play time, someone who’ll have fun with your pets & send you too many photos of ‘em, that’s me. :) When not caring for a client's pup or kitty (or pig, chicken or bunny!!), I'm often found jogging around the Vermont State House grounds with Pokemon Go in one hand & a Chocolate Poodle in another. Leaving a place cleaner than when I got there is a rule of thumb whether that means picking up litter with my old mother in law while walking our old Dutch Shepherd or when in my client’s home. It’s a lot to trust someone in your space. When they’re staying over or using the kitchen, that’s even more the case. While we pet lovers are all good people, some of us are better at following “good home training” rules of thumb than others! I make sure to read the instructions, screenshot & photograph them so I have them handy to look back at with questions & I will always communicate if there is anything I need to know that’s not listed.
“Lillian did a great job! Our dog can be skittish with strangers, but Lillian was able to make friends with her and quickly gain her trust. We came home to a house full of happy fur-babies!”

I am around all of the time on weekends and all school breaks and all summer. Our house has many dog beds, crates, toys and treats. We live on many acres and dogs can be on or off leash, depending on needs. I also take dogs to local trails to walk and socialize.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Montpelier. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
