“Miranda is my go‑to cat sitter for my two fur babies, Jesse and Jasper. I’ve hired her twice now, and each time I’ve been thoroughly impressed. When I returned home, my pets were happy and healthy, and everything was just as I left it — the play area was neat, the litter boxes were clean, and the food and water bowls were filled. She truly goes the extra mile to make sure your pets are cared for. My cats adore her! I will definitely call on her again. Terri”

“Justin did a fantastic job taking care of our kitties Phoenix and Cici while we were away! He was extremely professional, communicative, and very thoughtful. 5 stars all around!”

“We always choose Cynthia for our services! She’s very communicative, compassionate, and clean. My family recommend Cynthia to anyone looking for a smooth River experience”

“I had a wonderful experience with Sam. She was attentive to my dog’s needs, always on time, and kept me updated with great communication throughout. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in reliable hands. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!”

About: Many family friends have left their dogs in my care, mainly overnight. I’ve gotten very comfortable looking after high energy breeds and being attentive to their needs. I’ve owned a cat myself in the past! My primary job has relatively light and flexible hours. That flexibility allows me to give pets the time and attention they deserve. Early mornings and late nights will almost always be available for bookings. When I accept a booking, I make sure I can genuinely commit to it so every pet receives consistent attention and companionship throughout my time. I treat both the space and the fur baby with the same respect and responsibility I would expect someone to show mine. I pay close attention to each pet’s routine and personality while also making sure they receive any specific care they’re already used to. I try to leave homes better condition in then I arrived, and I believe reliable communication helps provide peace of mind for any client that so desires. My goal will always be for clients to come home to something relaxing.
“Maycelin was great. She had never met my boys before and I have a very timid cattle dog. She was able to get him out to pee and poop. She followed instructions and was really Communicative and polite. I will def book her again :)”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 20. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed, administer meds, as well as house sit. I have 1 dog (11), 2 Cats and 2 boys( trust me they count as animals). I'm a single mom, on disability and looking for extra income. As a SAHM I can accommodate almost any schedule. “Jazzmin is such a dog whisperer! She can work with any pet friend. My sweet little 9-week-old took right to her, and each visit Jazzmin demonstrated her experience with animals and her love and respect for them too. I will be using her services consistently because I have been so pleased.”

About: Dependable and attentive care with plenty of walks, play, cuddles. I am patient and experienced with shy pets, energetic puppies, and senior dogs alike. Adoni was great taking care of my cat, Leo, while we were away on vacation. Leo was very unsure of having someone else in the home and Adoni was very patient and careful with him. I would feel very comfortable booking with her again to take care of my furbaby!

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Monticello. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
