“Nancy was the best! Great communication and sent me pictures of my boy. I could tell he had a great time there and he wasn’t in a rush to leave. Would highly recommend her for your pet needs!”
“Amber was great with bowser. Also, she was available last second with little notice, which meant a whole lot to us. This allowed us to take an impromptu trip for our 10 year wedding anniversary. Thank you so much Amber!!!”

“I cannot recommend her enough! She took amazing care of Reo, and her communication was excellent. She kept me updated throughout the stay and sent me multiple pictures of how Reo was doing. I contacted her at the last minute because Reo had recently been neutered and couldn't attend daycare, and I had to go to work. She was more than willing to take care of Reo on short notice, gave him his medication, and made sure he was comfortable. Thank you so much Megan for your kindness, flexibility, and excellent care!”

“I will always see if Erin is available to watch our dog Hera. She is safe and happy with Erin and her husband and gets lots of walks. Erin is great with communication and easy to work with. We are repeat clients”

“Kirsten was amazing! She offered a meet and greet before my dog’s boarding. A very sweet person. And I was able to tell my dog would be in great hands. Awesome communication and I received plenty of updates including pictures and videos. I have an Aussie, and he has a lot of energy and Kirsten matches it perfectly.”

“She was great! Kathryn was incredibly friendly and sent lots of pictures and updates about our dog while she was staying with her. I also very much appreciated that we set up an initial meeting with myself, my dog and Kathryn to make sure it was a good fit for everyone. We will definitely being using her services again! ?”

“We absolutely LOVE Heather. She has kept Lacey numerous times and we will book her 4 or 5 times, at least, next year. We travel a lot and do it knowing Lacey is so well taken care of. Lacey has her best friend Riley (Heather’s dog) that she loves to stay with. We can’t thank her enough. We can enjoy our trips and never worry about Lacey.”

“Lynn is the best sitter. She has a huge fenced front and backyard and 4 great loving dogs. Her 4 dogs added our 2 dogs to their family. My dogs had a great time. She always shares videos and pics of them playing together. One of the best experiences i have had. Will be definitely giving our pups to Lynn whenever we go our of town.”

“Our dog Finley had a great time with Alex and Martha and their furry family! They took great care of him, took him on walks around the nearby park, and sent pics daily. Thanks for looking after our boy!”

“From the moment we met Tania, she was friendly and welcoming. She introduced Molly to her pets and the layout of her home and fenced-in yard. Molly had to learn to use the Dog Door and did so While away, Tania sent photos and videos of Molly enjoying herself. It is clear that Tania cares deeply for pets. Molly had a wonderful time, and we will look forward to using Tania again.”

“Mikayla did wonderfully with our puppy! She was super patient with his teething, took him for a bunch of walks, and helped him feel safe at night for his first weekend away from us! Thank you so much!”

About: I have always had a huge love for dogs and have years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities! I volunteer as a trainer with 4 Paws for Ability, where I have fostered, trained, and served as the primary handler for three dogs. Through this experience, I gained valuable skills in obedience training, puppy development, understanding dog behavior, and providing consistent, loving care. Outside of 4 Paws for Ability, I've also been a regular pet sitter for multiple families, caring for their dogs and building trusting relationships with both the pets and their owners. Both through 4 Paws and individually I've cared for dogs of all ages, including puppies as young as 8 weeks old, as well as dogs with special needs and conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia and dogs in heat. These experiences have taught me how important it is to understand each dog's individual needs and adjust my care accordingly. One thing I especially enjoy is helping dogs maintain and build upon their existing training! I'm happy to reinforce commands, routines, and positive reinforcement techniques that families are already working on. I understand how important consistency is, especially for puppies and dogs actively learning new skills. Whether your dog is full of puppy energy, needs a little extra attention, or simply enjoys a relaxed routine, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I know how much trust goes into leaving your dog with someone else, and I'll always treat yours with the same love, patience, and attention I would give my own! I'm currently a college student with a very flexible schedule! My classes are solely in the mornings and last no more than 2.5 hours (even when back-to-back), leaving me with plenty of time throughout the day to dedicate to pet care. I have lots of availability for walks, playtime, potty breaks, and giving your pup the love and attention they deserve! My weekends are also very flexible, allowing me to spend even more quality time with your pup and accommodate longer stays. I'm always happy to work with your dog's usual routine to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for while you're away! Your dog's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities! I live in an apartment complex with a large, fully fenced-in dog park, providing plenty of space for exercise, playtime, and fresh air. Depending on your dog's personality and preferences, they can enjoy socializing with other dogs or have their own time to run around and play without other dogs present. I always prioritize safe interactions and will never force your pup into an environment they're uncomfortable with. I also have plenty of dog toys to keep your pup entertained, whether they love playing fetch, chewing on toys, or just having something fun to play with! I have a crate available if your dog is crate-trained or feels more comfortable having their own space. I'm happy to follow your dog's usual routines, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, exercise, and any ongoing training. With my experience handling and training dogs, I understand the importance of consistency, patience, and paying attention to each dog's individual needs. When caring for pets in a client's home, I make sure to respect their space and maintain their dog's familiar routine as closely as possible. I also love keeping owners updated with pictures and messages so they can feel confident that their pup is safe, happy, and receiving plenty of love and attention while they're away!
“Laura was really great and he was super happy when I picked him up. She consistently sent me status and photos of him. She also really enjoyed having him there and that means the world to me. I will always want him to be there first.”

About: Hi there! I have been pet sitting for a couple of years and have also been employed at a dog training and daycare for roughly seven months. While I was there, I learned all about dog behavior and how to handle it when things get rough. I am comfortable around animals and my ability to recognize their needs. I adopted a kitten one year ago and have loved taking care of him. I’ve lived with dogs my whole life, I am now only taking care of my cat but still love dogs deeply. I work a time variable job. During the week I’m usually up and out of the house by 5:30-6am and home by 3. Sometimes that varies. I’ve been home by noon some days. That being said if your dog needs potty breaks frequently, I would not be the best option for you. It’s important to me and your pet that I keep them comfortable and safe. I love to give animals the time and attention they deserve!!

“Julie has been watching our Corgi for years! She takes care of him as if he was her own! We never have to worry when he goes and stays with her. No question she is the best.”

“Allie is such a find! Our dog Link obviously had an amazing time on his stay with her. She sent great pictures and kept in touch. She spoiled our doggo with love and treats and toys. Her love and care for dogs gave us the peace of mind we needed to really enjoy our vacation. We absolutely recommend Allie and will book her again in the future!”
“John was an amazing sitter who kept us updated multiple times a day with pictures and updates, even when we couldn’t be as responsive. He offered Teddy healthy treats on the regular and treated him like his own. Five stars! We will definitely be reaching out to him again for future sitting needs.”

“Rex had a wonderful Vacay with Rachel!! Regan is adorable and friendly, Rachel is so nice, quick to respond, and flexible about drop off and pick up! I got lots of photos and updates-- they truly made Rex a part of their family for the weekend-- the BEST feeling a dog-parent can have if you are away from your beloved pet. I can't say enough good things! Rex will definitely be back :)”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Milner home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Milner.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Milner sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
