About: I have always had a dog or cat in my life. Growing up and now I have two dogs of my own who I adore and love! I also have been a dog walker/nanny for two dogs for the past 4 years. One of these dogs was a puppy too. I have a pretty open schedule. I have a few open days a week and don’t mind driving to take care of pets. I am also open to stopping by before and/or after I get off at my other job! I have two dogs and take care of them like they are my kids! They follow me around the house and need constant attention that i love to give them. I will take care of my clients pet however they normally take care of them and follow their routine!

About: I have 25 years of experience, caring for dogs, cats and small pets. I’m calm reliable and very tuned in to animals emotional needs. Pets respond well to my gentle energy and I take time to make sure they feel safe comfortable and loved. I follow routines carefully and treat every pet like family what sets me apart is my steady presence, compassion and genuine love for animals. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I already spent a lot of time at home and I enjoy slow intentional days so caring for pets blends easily with my schedule. I’m consistent dependable and able to give animals the calm attention they need throughout the day. I care for pets with a calm, steady and attentive approach in your home. I follow your routines, exactly feeding schedules walks playtime, and any special instructions. I take time to connect with each pet so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I keep your home tidy, respect your space and make sure your pets get plenty of affection and reassurance.
“Sophie was great! She was super flexible with our crazy schedule and was fast to communicate. Our kitty Max loved cuddling with her. We would definitely book her again!”

About: I’ve always been the kind of person who really pays attention to animals as individuals. Some want to be your best friend immediately, some need a little time, and some are perfectly happy supervising from across the room until they’ve decided you’re acceptable. I’m good at matching their energy and letting them be themselves. That might mean a long walk and playtime, a quieter day with lots of company, or a little patience while they warm up. I’m comfortable caring for pets of different ages, including seniors, and I can follow medication or special-care instructions when needed. Mostly, I like making sure pets get real attention and companionship while their person is away—not just the basic checklist. And yes, there will probably be pictures. 🐾 My schedule is pretty flexible right now, so I have plenty of room in my day for pet care. Morning walk? Works. Midday visit? Also works. Someone who would simply appreciate a little company during the day? I’m happy to be that person. Having an open schedule also means I’m not trying to squeeze every visit into a tiny window and race off to the next thing. I like having enough time to actually hang out with the pet I’m there to see. In my home, I keep things pretty relaxed and let pets settle in at their own pace. I follow their usual feeding, walk, potty, and sleeping routines as closely as I can, give them plenty of attention, and make sure they have a comfortable place to relax. In a client’s home, I try to keep things feeling as normal as possible for the pet. I stick to the routine and house rules they’re already used to, spend real time with them instead of rushing through the visit, and leave the home the way I found it. Either way, I pay attention to the practical stuff too—secure leashes, doors and gates, safe outdoor time, medications if needed, and whatever little quirks or habits I should know about ahead of time. Basically, I want your pet to feel like their day is still their day, just with me filling in while you’re away. 🐾

“She has been absolutely wonderful! She took amazing care of my cat, who grew very attached to her. She went above and beyond, even helping with things that weren’t part of the contract, and I am so grateful for her kindness and dedication. Having her as my sitter gave me complete peace of mind—I couldn’t have asked for a better person!”

About: I've spent my entire life around dogs and currently have 2 huskies named Ella and Zoey. They get walks multiple times per day so I'm used to walking multiple dogs in every type of weather (rain, sleet, snow and sunshine). I work from home full-time and have a very flexible schedule so I can be available at multiple times a day to walk your dog(s). I'd like to know how your dog(s) react while walking to other dogs, loud noises, other people. My dogs love walks so if our dogs get along they would LOVE to come along.
About: I’ve cared for many dogs in their homes and mine. Pets feel safest at home, and I bring calm, loving care they can trust. ❤️ I will work around your schedule - just let me know what you need and we will figure out the details. I am completely flexible. I stay in your home and care for your pets their way - walks, play, special meals - whatever they need to feel safe and happy.
“We hired Jen to do a drop in visit for our cat while we were out of town. Jen was super communicative, she was willing to stop by to meet our cat ahead of time. Very sweet and flexible, we appreciated her updates and photos/videos :)”

“Aubrey did a wonderful job dropping in for my dog Lou. Aubrey knew we’d be gone for a long day so she made sure to spend lots of time playing with Lou to get her energy out. She gave a cute picture and a very detailed update which reassured us that our sweet girl was in great hands and that all of our instructions were being followed perfectly. We will definitely be having Aubrey back again and highly recommend her!”

“As I started a new job being away from home for many hours, my wife and I rushed to find someone to drop in on our Golden Retriever. In less than 24-hrs after meeting Emi-Lu, she became part of our family. Emi-Lu asked so many questions, showed deep care, and even left us a special note. She was so detailed and so caring. I know that Finn is safe and well taken care of when he is in Emi-Lu’s care. Her passion for animals, her empathy, and her attention to detail are unmatched!!!”

“Barb was absolutely PERFECT!! Her impeccable attention to detail, not to mention her TLC in her care for Kodi made my trip so much more enjoyable and stress free! I was also really impressed by her interest in answering all of my questions, while being responsive to ANY concerns I might have had. That pretty much handled ANY worries or concerns with regard to Kodi being alone without me for three days. I will definitely be requesting Barb again whenever I need a sitter any time in the future! About: I have taken care of pets since I was 5! I have a husky back at home with my parents and I used to have a toy poodle. In addition, I have two horses who are my babies! I was raised and taught on how to take care of animals and I absolutely love any type of pet. A couple years back, my husky gave birth of 6 healthy husky puppies and I was there to help take of care of them with her and to help them grow up. I helped potty train each of them and I would take all the dogs on walks. Since I grew up and raised a big dog, I know how to take care of them and I am comfortable doing so. I can also take care of small and medium dogs as I also some of those size in my youth. Back at home, I often house sit and take car of pets of other family members if they are to go on vacation so I am reliable in that sense as well. I currently work 7am-4pm on the week days but have evenings and weekends completely available! If you go on a weekend trip and need someone to take care of your pet, I am more than welcome to take care of them. If you need someone to walk the dog or to take care of them in the evening so you can go out and relax, I can also do that! I want to ensure that I provide a safe space with each pet I take care of. I make sure that there is clear communication between me and the client so that I know what their needs are and how I can be more helpful. It is important to be informative to the clients as well as making sure to keep your pet safe and I will do my absolute best to do so!
“Steph is the perfect pet sitter for my Gracie. She has a border collie just like mine so she is well aware of their energy levels and high sensitivity. You can tell Gracie loves when Steph comes over to visit her. Steph gets a lot of that energy out that is getting built up while Gracie is home alone and shows a lot of love for her. I know I can trust her while I’m away.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
