Joanna put so much effort into the meet and greet alone I knew she was going to be the right fit for us! Our pitty has been through so much and just a little bit nervous with new people. Given that, she didn’t hesitate to give him the patience and understanding he needed to go on his first professional walk. Highly recommend for walking/day care for our fur kids! Thankyou so much!

About: I’ve grown up around animals my whole life, including dogs, cats, rodents, and reptiles. Family and friends have always trusted me to walk, feed, and care for their pets, and I truly enjoy giving them the love and attention they deserve. Hey there! My name is Mariah. I’m currently a junior at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), studying Cybersecurity. My schedule is generally open unless I have a booked sitting or walking, or my calendar shows that I’m unavailable. Please be sure to send me a message or request a couple of weeks in advance for bookings or meet-and-greets, as some months can get quite busy. Make sure to get your request in early! Thank you so much for your interest in me—I truly appreciate it! When caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I always focus on providing a safe, loving, and stress-free environment. I follow all instructions given by the owner closely, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, exercise needs, medications, and any special routines. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, and affection, while also respecting their comfort levels and personalities. During drop-in visits and house sitting, I ensure pets are fed on time, walked or let out for bathroom breaks, and given enrichment through play, mental stimulation, and companionship. I keep their living area clean by refreshing water, cleaning litter boxes or picking up waste, and maintaining a tidy space. I also provide regular updates with photos and messages so owners feel confident and at ease while they’re away. For walks, I prioritize safety by using secure leashes and harnesses, paying close attention to the environment, and adjusting the walk based on the pet’s energy level, age, and weather conditions. Above all, I treat every pet as if they were my own and aim to make their time with me feel fun, comfortable, and full of care.

About: Hi there! I work remotely for my career so essentially I can housesit anywhere and any time as long as there is Wi-Fi. I am offering my services to house/dog/cat/fur baby sit to homes in the area. I am also willing to travel for the right situation. I have great references, if needed. I used to be head Kennel at upland animal hospital and I do have experience with older animals or animals who require extra special care or medications. As I mentioned, I do work remotely for my main job, so if you book M-F, I will work from your home but I will still have plenty of time for adhering to your pets schedule, cuddles, and walks. I am open to long time sits for the right price/people/pets. Please message me on the side if you are interested and we can talk about your fur loved ones, price, location and dates. I am open 24/7 for sitting at this time. Please see the pics for some of my happy fur buddies and check out my recent reviews. I will send pictures of your fur babies to you daily, if you so desire, so that you know they are happy and healthy while you are away. I will treat your home like my home, and your pets like my pets, you might even come home to things better off then when you left. :) I have open availability for pet care as long as I don’t already have a pre arranged pet sit booked. Please check my rover calendar for my availability. And just in case send me a message to make sure I am still available. I will love your pets as if they were my own babies. I take this seriously as a job and your pets safety and care is my highest priority, rest assured that your pets are in good hands and you won’t have to worry about anything while you are gone.

About: My family had puppy dog named Hazel who we had for about 3 years. I used to play fetch with her in the backyard when I’d come home from school when I was around 10. I’d help with baths, walking her, my mom taught me how bring her inside when I was home alone doing homework, she behaved great and protected me well. A few years later, she passed from choking while eating something that I think had a bone in it and that was the first experience of heartbreak/loss. A few years after that, I adopted my current pet cat on my birthday, Ace, who I love so much. I’ve always loved animals and give pets to dogs whenever I have permission to, my best friend has many dogs so when I go over her house, I get all the cuddles and get drooled on, which I’m used to at this point. I love watching dog training videos and educating myself as I get older so when I finally get a dog again, as an adult, I want to be prepared and educated on how to protect their health, feed them properly and keep them safe with proper nutrition, exercise and training. I would personally love to get myself a Doberman or German Shepherd (Like Hazel was). I often go to my aunts house who has multiple chunky french bulldogs and help her in anyway I can, I enjoy how sweet dogs are and would love to help do any training techniques you’d love your little doggo to be working on while you are away. I am also in the process of my goal of losing 100lbs! So this helps me get the exercise I need while doing something I’m passionate about! Weekday and Weekends for now, preferably during the Morning & Afternoons on Weekdays and anytime as long as there is a day notice beforehand so I can clear my schedule just for your pet. Not currently doing pet sitting or boarding at my own home, maybe I will be more likely to in the future but I’m not sure yet.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Mile High. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Mile High.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mile High. On Rover:

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
