Joanna put so much effort into the meet and greet alone I knew she was going to be the right fit for us! Our pitty has been through so much and just a little bit nervous with new people. Given that, she didn’t hesitate to give him the patience and understanding he needed to go on his first professional walk. Highly recommend for walking/day care for our fur kids! Thankyou so much!

About: I will take great care of your dog. I understand how hard it is when wanting to travel and finding a trustworthy person to care for your fur baby. I’ve been looking for a side job and spending time with dogs is a plus for me. I am responsible and will treat your dogs like my own. The only downside is I have a full time job and my days off Saturday’s, Sunday’s and Mondays’s. I have no problem dog sitting on my workdays but depends on your dogs needs. I work Tuesday- Friday and off Saturday-Monday. I can take care of your fur baby on my work days but it depends on your baby’s needs. Since I have pets of my own, I will not be offering the option to take care of pups at my home. I am respectful of others homes and follow the rules. If needed I have friends that I pet sit at their homes who could write a review.

About: My extensive experience in pet care extends beyond the traditional roles of pet sitting. I have actively participated in animal fostering programs, which have provided me with insights into the diverse needs and behaviors of various animals. Fostering has also equipped me with the skills to handle various situations that may arise in a pet care setting, from addressing behavioral issues to providing specialized care for animals with medical needs. It has taught me the importance of patience, compassion, and flexibility when caring for animals in transition. Additionally, I have had the privilege of caring for a wide array of animals, including cats, dogs, bunnies, and even lizards. This exposure has enriched my understanding of different species and has honed my ability to adapt my caregiving techniques to suit each individual animal's unique requirements. My experience as a foster caregiver, combined with my proficiency in pet sitting, sets me apart from other sitters. I bring a depth of knowledge and skills that enable me to provide exceptional care for pets of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. Whether it's cuddling with a kitten, going for a walk with a dog, or creating a comfortable habitat for a reptile, I approach each interaction with the same level of dedication and enthusiasm, ensuring that every pet in my care receives the love and attention they deserve. As a current medical school student taking a break for the summer, my schedule offers ample flexibility for dedicating time to your beloved pets. With my days relatively unstructured, I have plenty of availability for engaging in activities such as walking, playing, and providing affectionate cuddles. While I'm currently immersed in research from the comfort of my home, I also have a passion for outdoor pursuits like running, hiking, and leisurely walks. Integrating your furry friend into these activities would be a joy for me. However, I fully understand that not all pets may be inclined towards high-energy endeavors, and I am equally enthusiastic about indoor play sessions or simply spending quality time together in quiet companionship. Given my adaptable schedule, I can easily accommodate pets with varying lifestyles and preferences. Whether your companion thrives on energetic adventures or prefers gentle indoor activities, I am committed to tailoring our interactions to suit their individual needs and preferences. Your pet's well-being and happiness are my top priorities, and I am dedicated to providing them with the care and attention they deserve. In both my home and my clients' homes, I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment for the pets under my care. Here's how I approach pet care for various services: Pet Walking: When taking pets for walks, I ensure they receive adequate exercise, mental stimulation, and socialization. Before each walk, I conduct an assessment of the pet's needs and preferences, considering factors such as their age, breed, health condition, and energy level. During the walk, I maintain an eye on their behavior, ensuring their safety at all times. Whether it's a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood or an invigorating hike through nature trails, I tailor the walk to suit the pet's capabilities and interests. Pet Day Visits: During pet day visits, I provide comprehensive care and attention to ensure the pet's well-being throughout the day. This includes feeding them according to their dietary requirements, replenishing water bowls, and administering any necessary medications or supplements. I engage the pet in stimulating activities, such as interactive play sessions, puzzle toys, or gentle grooming sessions, to keep them mentally and physically active. I also prioritize regular bathroom breaks and litter box cleaning to maintain hygiene and comfort. Additionally, I offer plenty of affection and companionship to alleviate any feelings of loneliness or anxiety while their owners are away. Overnight Pet Sitting: During overnight pet sitting, I aim to maintain a sense of normalcy and routine for the pet in their familiar surroundings. I adhere closely to the pet's established feeding schedule, ensuring they receive their meals at the same times they're accustomed to. I provide companionship and reassurance throughout the evening, engaging in calming activities such as cuddling, gentle play, or soothing music to help them feel at ease. I ensure they have ample opportunities for bathroom breaks and outdoor excursions, following their regular routines as closely as possible. Throughout the night, I remain vigilant to address any potential issues or concerns promptly, ensuring the pet's safety, comfort, and well-being at all times.

About: Hi there and Welcome to my profile! My name is summer, I’ve worked with animals of all types my whole life. I was born and raised on a farm and ever since 2005 when I was 4 I began to take responsibility of caring for dogs and cats of many breeds. Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Johnson Corner. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Johnson Corner.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

  • 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
