“Wonderful experience for our dog and for us. Kimberly’s care, skill in accommodating our dog’s needs, and communication gave us such peace of mind when leaving our dog for a few days. Will definitely be back!”

“Lyssette was extremely communicative, and my pup loved her and her dog. Her yard is huge, Valkyrie had the run of the whole downstairs and was super happy. Will definitely use her again!”

“I traveled over the mountain passes to and from dropping Rogue off. So and Jon were very accommodating of my needs. I didn't meet So, but Jon was friendly, professional and kind to me and Rogue. They both sent several videos and pictures to me over the course of the weekend. I give them two big thumbs up!”

“Karly and family were fantastic with my Shepard. Her dog is very sweet and playful and was an instant friend and they played all day. Karly was understanding with me and kind. She sent a lot of great photos that kept my mind at ease. I highly recommend her. I’m going to book again!”

“Barbara was great with my dog who often gets separation anxiety when I leave her. Barbara knew how to handle her anxiety really well. Her dogs are very sweet and they were both great with my dog. My dog wanted to keep playing when I picked her up. I will use Barbara again in the future.”

“1st time my 4 yr old mini poodle ever left me overnight. Dottie was wonderful to me and Penelope! So good to have a safe and comfortable place to leave her so 8 can travel with no worries. The daily photos were a BONUS!!!😍”

About: It’s hard to find someone to trust to watch your fur babies. I’m hoping to give you peace of mind when you are away. I can be flexible to a pet’s needs including exercise, socialization, potty schedule and medication regiments. I can’t think of a time in my life we didn’t have animals. As a child I wanted to be a Veterinarian. I worked at an animal hospital for a few years in my early 20’s. It was a great experience. I live close to a dog park and Forest Park or will take your dog on a run if needed. Also, there is also an emergency vet clinic nearby; just in case. A daily check in can be provided including photos. I look forward to meeting you and your fur baby!! I work from home so my pet routine with Lilly and Winston grounds me. Especially for morning and evening feedings and daily walks. As they are getting older our activity has slowed but I’m ready to meet the exercise levels for any pet that I’m sitting. I have a fenced yard with two friendly dogs. I have been working with animals nearly my whole life so adding new animals to our pack is second nature.
“This family took great care of our dog and hamster, I highly recommend. I received pictures throughout our time away and updates on how the animals were doing. I will contact them for our next vacation away from home.”

About: Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, or simply giving your pets extra love and companionship, I’m here to make sure they feel right at home. Every pet has their own personality and needs, and I strive to provide personalized care that gives both you and your pets peace of mind. I work from home and have two teenage kids to help out on the weekends! Your loved one(s) will not be left un-attended! We also have a large fenced backyard and dedicated potty area with easy access 24/7. I have a very friendly 8 year old Aussie-Pom to keep them company as well as two teenagers! We raised two mini Aussies until age 4 and miss having the little ones around!
About: We lost our 16 year old Lab Zeus 6 months ago and looking to share our love for dogs while waiting to be dog parents again. My wife and I work from home and share pet responsibilities. We have a lot of love to give and share walking, feeding and caring. Fenced yard with room to roam. Nice neighborhood to walk and explore. We have had 2 dogs at this house and never had any issues.
“We’ve left our high-energy pup with Jami many times and she’s been awesome every time! Great communication, lots of photos and videos and our pup is tuckered from all of the fun. We will happily continue booking with her!”

“Siru is wonderful. My dog stayed with her for a week. Siru is very attentive and took very good care of my dog. She eased my worries and anxiety of having to leave my dog with strangers. Really appreciate her daily feedback on how my dog was doing. I would definitely recommend Siru as a sitter! Thank you, Siru!”

“Christen and her family took such great care of our little Nika! We received daily updates/pictures/ videos that made us so relived that our pup was comfortable and well taken care of. We would definitely choose Christen again!”

About: Experienced Dog Lover & Borzoi Breeder Dogs have been a huge part of my life for many years, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I have extensive hands-on experience breeding and successfully showing Borzoi, giving me a strong understanding of canine behavior, health, routines, and the individual needs of different dogs. Over the years, I have also cared for dogs for friends, family, and other owners for stays ranging from a few days to several months. Whether your dog is here for a weekend or an extended stay, my goal is for them to feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely at home. I live on a property where dogs have plenty of room to explore and enjoy the outdoors. For dogs who are comfortable and appropriate for it, they can spend time in separate pastures and enjoy the space and fresh air rather than being confined indoors all day. Of course, every dog’s routine and comfort level is different, and I’m happy to follow your instructions regarding exercise, feeding, medications, and daily routines. My dogs are treated as members of the family, and visiting dogs receive that same care and attention. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your dog with someone else, so I want you to have peace of mind knowing they are being cared for by someone experienced, attentive, and genuinely invested in their well-being. I’d love the opportunity to get to know your dog and give them a fun, comfortable home-away-from-home! I work out of the home for 4.5 hours out of the day but am home for the rest of the time. My work is 10 minutes from the house I provide a safe, comfortable environment where each dog’s individual needs and routine are respected. My property has several fenced pastures (4’) where dogs can spend time outdoors, explore, and get exercise when appropriate for their temperament and comfort level. I also have secure kennel area when a dog needs additional containment or quiet time. I’m accustomed to managing dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and needs, and I’m happy to follow each owner’s instructions regarding feeding, exercise, medications, and routines. My goal is for every dog in my care to feel safe, loved, and at home while their family is away.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Midway home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Midway.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Midway sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
