“Mia was awesome when she stayed at our house to watch our 2 dogs. She sent updates and pictures, and made sure they were well taken care of all weekend! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter! My dogs seemed so happy with her!”

“Brandon was very efficient with communication as well as providing updates and photos while hanging with my dude for the first time this week. I was nervous but he made it seem less. Would recommend and continue to book time for my guy to hang with Brandon.”

“Tarah was amazing with our four pets! We have two cats and two dogs and she made sure they were loved on while we were away. She even got our most anxious kitty to come snuggle with her ? we got lots of pictures. Very responsive and communicative. We will absolutely use Tarah again in the future!!”

“Valerie was fantastic. I've used her twice so far, once for a few day vacation and once for an overnight. My poor girl is a little neurotic and has social and generalized anxiety. She's on a ton of daily meds and has a few situation meds as well. She very quickly warmed up to Valerie. I already have care sheets printed up for my girl, but Valerie came with a notebook prepared to write everything down so that she wouldn't have to rely solely on her memory. She was very flexible on the day of our meet and greet when I had to work 2hrs later than I expected. She was also willing to be flexible on start/end dates (within what her schedule allowed). Ended up not needing to change plans on the vacation, but she did end up coming over early on the day of the overnight (with unfortunately not as much notice as I should have given her). Valerie spent most the day(s) and all nights with my girl and sent photo updates. Fortunately, my dog only had one freak out while I was gone, and Valerie was very patient with her. Before I left for vacation, I'd tried to clean as much as I could, but there were a couple of things I meant to do and just ran out of time. When I got home, the house was actually a bit cleaner than I left it. She didn't reorganize my things or anything that I'd have been frustrated by, just... that little bit extra. Could not have asked for a better sitter. Will definitely be reaching out again!”

About: Growing up we always had at least 2 dogs that I helped care for. I’ve also dog sat for friends and family numerous times throughout the years. I have also had experience with cats. I occasionally house sit for a wonder couple and take care of their cat when they go out of town. Im currently going to college to be a teacher so I have most afternoons Monday- Friday free! Also I am almost always free on weekends:) I love caring for animals. Especially getting to play with them and making sure they are well cared for. I always make sure to keep a close eye on them especially when out and about walking them.
“She was amazing. She even took Pixie to the dog park. Left my house perfect and Pixie was a super happy and healthy pup when I got home. Im so greatful for how she took care of Pixie!”

“Serenity was wonderful. So communicative and there for my animals around the clock. I had a friend drop out at the last minute and was unable to take care of our animals but serenity was ready to take care of them the second I reached out. She has done a great job of taking care of my dog pets needs and making me feel secure in her care. I would definitely recommend her and would love to use her services in the future!”

“Maya took great care of our dog Audrey and our cat Cali while we were out of town. This was our first time having someone stay at our house with the pets. Cali is a pretty easy cat. Audrey can be a lot sometimes but Maya took it in stride and seemed unphased Audrey's specific needs, demands for attention, and separation anxiety. Every picture Maya sent showed Audrey and Cali looking cozy or happy. They seemed to enjoy her company. When we arrived home, Audrey especially seemed unstressed by the weekend without us. I would recommend Maya to anyone looking for a caring and conscientious individual to watch their pets.”

“Abby was wonderful watching our 2 German Shepherds. Our 1 year old can be very active, mouthy and demanding and we appreciated her honesty regarding some of his poor manners while we were gone. He is also on heart meds 3x per day and she was very conscientious about notifying me and following up with any issues. Great job keeping the house picked up too. Wouldn’t hesitate to use her again!”

“Jasmine was wonderful!! We’ve used Rover several times and have been fortunate to have some really great sitters, but Jasmine was truly a step above. She sent us photos and updates every day, left our home even cleaner than we left it, and most importantly, spent so much time loving on and caring for our boys. ❤️ It gave us such peace of mind knowing they were happy, comfortable, and getting plenty of attention while we were away. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely recommend Jasmine to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pets and their home. We will definitely be using her again! 🐾❤️”

“Trina is a very attentive and caring sitter for our babies, we appreciated her daily updates and pictures! We will definitely employ her services again when we travel in the future!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Miamisburg walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Miamisburg maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Miamisburg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
