“Awesome! Will hire again. Dealt with all three of my big hyper dogs very well, cleaned up any messes was punctual and communication was on point. Planning to be a regular customer of hers for sure!”

“Abby was fantastic with my baby! She was patient with my incredibly stubborn Shiba, she was caring and attentive, always showed up on time for delivering timed medication, and I will not hesitate to book her the next time I’m out of town!”

“Tara was great! I absolutely recommend her and I’ll book her again. It was the first time for us being away from our 2 cats for over a week. But with her we felt that our cats are very well cared for. She took the time to check in before we left, sent us detailed updates and photos every day. Her reaction time to messages is very fast.”

“I will definitely use Bailey again. I felt confident leaving my pup with her and she kept me well informed on how he was doing. Hoping to have Bailey as a regular!”

“bryan was super responsive and communicative and did everything i asked of him! i have 2 cats, both of which have different needs, and he was able to accommodate them perfectly. would definitely recommend him!”

About: What happens to your fur baby happens to me because I truly believe we’re all connected. That’s why your pet will always be loved, safe, and seen while in my care, as if they’re in their second home (or their vacay retreat 🐶✨). I’ve been professionally pet sitting since 2018 and have had the joy of caring for pups of all kinds, each treated like the unique soul they are. I only offer solo stays, so your fur baby gets 100% of my attention, snuggles, and playtime with no distractions. ⚡ Availability & Presence: I work from home full-time, which means I’m present and attentive to your pet throughout the entire stay. From morning walks to midday breaks, cuddles, and calm companionship, your pet will have company, care, and comfort around the clock. Whether they’re energetic or laid-back, I match their pace and provide a routine that feels like home. Evenings and weekends are filled with extra love, walks, park visits, games, and cozy updates straight to your phone. I follow every instruction you leave, from feeding routines and potty breaks to medications and favorite toys. I also send frequent updates (spamming welcome if you like!) and can video-record tasks like administering meds so you have complete peace of mind.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life, so caring for them comes naturally to me. I’ve looked after pets for family and friends over the years — feeding, walking, playing, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable. I also have a cat at home, so I’m experienced with multi-pet households and understand how to keep animals calm and happy in different situations. I work part time, but have been able to easily care for my dog, as my hours aren’t for very long. Pets have always been a central part of my daily life, so caring for your dog will fit seamlessly into my routine. I’m attentive to feeding schedules, walks, and playtime, and I make sure every pet in my care gets consistent attention throughout the day rather than being left alone for long stretches. I treat every pet I care for as if they were my own. Having grown up with dogs, I know how to read their body language, recognize signs of stress or illness, and respond calmly in unexpected situations. I keep a secure, pet-friendly environment and always follow the owner’s specific instructions for feeding, medications, or routines. Your dog’s comfort and safety are always my top priority.
About: My experience is extensive. Growing up as the oldest sibling of four, in a pet loving household, we’ve had just about every animal under the sun! I’ve taken care of puppies to geriatric cuties (my home pup being 18) and I know all the love and care they need. I’m very responsible and have often been told I go above and beyond in my care! I am currently a dental student at the UT and am there at the most from 8-12, 1-5. A day that long isn’t necessarily typical, but it shows the longest range which I thought may be helpful! Often times I’m home in the morning or afternoon. I also study at home, that being the bulk of my time. I have a fenced in yard and no other animals, perfect for a pet that is used to being by themselves. I do not have a crate, but can do whatever you’re used to!

“Shelby took great care of my cat Lola. We needed her to stop by and give her a specific kind of food, and to let her play for a little while. She followed our instructions for the whole stay, and we got back to a happy/healthy cat.”

About: Happy to help with commands and training. Loves leisurely walks with tons of stops for your pet to enjoy the outdoors and sunshine. Thanks for considering me. Currently I am doing freelance work. I’m pretty much, available most days and times with a few hours notice. That will most likely change in the future but for now it’s set. I live in an apartment. However I live on a pet friendly property and directly across from a huge park where your pet can play frisbee or catch with me! Also plenty of space to avoid people or other animals if necessary.

About: I love dogs and have several years of experience caring for them whether overnight or on walks. I can administer medicines orally and have fundamental training skills to help your pet acclimate to me and my space. I work part-time with shifts never exceeding 7 hours. Working 4-5 days a week. I work near my place of residence and am able to respond quickly to any situation if needed. Dogs: I am able to board adult, small-medium dogs. Others I will gladly walk or sit for. I provide a structured environment to help them feel comfortable and safe while keeping toys and treats handy to engage their minds and bodies and to build a positive relationship. Cats: I will board any and all cats assuming they're healthy. I have a very cat-friendly home and provide consistent meals, cuddles, and play. Foremost, I let the cat decide what it wants, whether that's space and quiet, or pets and play.
About: I’ve taken care of pets for friends, family, and neighbors for years. I love spending time outside, so let me brave the cold, rain, or heat by taking your dog for a walk. I’m available in the evenings and any time on the weekends. I also have more availability at different times through the year. I take a walk each day, so dog walking naturally fits into my daily routine. I am very conscious of ensuring that your pet feels safe at all times. I am careful about interactions with other animals at a dog park, for example. I also make sure to leave your space as I found it.
About: I've taken care of pets since I was 12- my own cats, extended family and friends' dogs, even a friend-of-a-friends 8 guinea pigs! I've got extended experience with a variety of pets and environments, and I am dependable and flexible for all needs. I work and study basically full time, but this gives me lots of "free time" dedicated to working from home. This lets my schedule be quite variable and flexible at times. Pet safety is very important- keeping track of pets especially outside, making sure they aren't in unsafe conditions in the house (for pet and house), ample walking time, and making sure doors are closed and locked.

About: I grew up with a variety of dogs — a golden, dachshund, and Pomeranian. I think I’m well-equipped to handle a variety of them, and I understand each dog has its own idiosyncrasies that must be tended to. I’m virtually available whenever now that I’m finished with school and I’m eager to get started! As far as how pet care fits in my own regimen, I don’t neglect any of my dog’s needs and feed, water, and walk him everyday, and I can assure you there’s nothing to worry about when I care for yours! I genuinely enjoy being around dogs — being without one throughout college has made me realize how sorely I’ve missed having one, and I’ve recently taken on a new one! You won’t have to worry about a lack of attention — I love meeting and interacting with them, and, more importantly, you won’t have to worry about them wreaking havoc while you’re gone.
“Alicia was wonderful with Bailey! I was so worried as I had never left him alone before, and I was concerned about his reaction with a stranger. Everything went very smoothly and she was very caring and loving toward him, putting both Bailey and myself 100% at ease. Next time I have to go out of town, I will definitely be booking with Alicia again!”

About: I am a resident at UTHSC and love caring for pets in my free time. I grew up with three dogs, but currently do not have one of my own so I would love to take care of yours to get my fix of doggo cuddles and walks. I take a daily walk and would love to bring your pet along! I also do a fair share of lounging so I get along great with lazy pups as well! I live about one block from a dog park, so if given permission I can easily take your pup for a fun play date to the park! I currently work from 9am-12pm, so I have plenty of free time to spend with your pet. I take daily walks and have a dog park down the street. I live in an apartment, but I have a closed/fenced patio for your pet to lounge on outside if they enjoy the great outdoors (temperature permitting).

About: We are a married couple in our 40s interested in house/pet-sitting together. We have pet-sat for a few NC and TN families for the past several years, and both of us had pet-sat before we met as well. Zachary works from home and so will be around the house much of the day if dogs need a mid-day walk or meal. Denny wakes up early and can feed and walk dogs in the early morning. Between us, we have experience with cats, dogs, fish, birds, rodents, rabbits, livestock, reptiles, and amphibians. We are willing to work with other animals as well. We prefer to sleep at the pet-owner's home when needed, as this means that we’re around and available for the pets at various times throughout the day. Denny also does drop-in care and dog-walking. Zachary has experience training dogs and volunteering with cats as well. Looking forward to meeting you! Zachary has a flexible work schedule and works from home. Denny is available to care for pets in the mornings, sometimes late afternoons, evenings, and weekends. We both enjoy walking and hiking and would love to take your dogs for walks. We don’t bring pets into our home but prefer overnight care in the pets’ home and are also open to drop-in care and walks. We are both very gentle with dogs and cats and enjoy lots of cuddles with pets, and we also make sure to take them for walks if desired.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Memphis
I had a wonderful experience with Amy! She did a great job with my elderly dog. My dog is slow to warm up to anyone new and Amy was patient and caring in coaxing her outside and to eat. The updates were great and gave me peace of mind while I was away. I would absolutely book with Amy again!

Davis was a fantastic drop-in pet sitter. I always felt confident and comfortable knowing my pet was in his care. He was quick to respond, very flexible with scheduling, and easy to communicate with. I really appreciated how reliable and accommodating he was, and I would absolutely book with him again.

I’m so thankful to have found Jess! My dogs are so much happier with her coming to visit them during the day. Her communication is outstanding, and she sends the best photos during her visit! She has made this experience incredibly easy and put any worries I had to rest. Thank you, Jess!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
