About: Hi, I grew up around several different animals of all sizes from rodents/reptiles to livestock/dogs. I have always had at least one dog in my life at all times. The more the merrier. I love all animals big and small. I worked at a kennel where I learned about boarding and training dogs for about a year and I have pet sat for about 15 years in grand total. I currently work at a pet store in Sutter Creek. I love being around dogs and training or even just hanging out and playing. I am a outdoorsy person. I have experience with livestock animals also. Horses, cattle, chickens, Lhamas, mini animals, donkeys. I have references also if you would like them. Our home is completely fenced and sits on 3 acres. We have two friendly german shepherds. I work part time so some days I am gone at work. But our 17 year old daughter is always home. We also go to church Sunday morning so we would be gone for a couple hours but otherwise we are always home. I care for pets in my home as I would my own. I have 3 German Shepherds. 10 months to 7 years old. As for in home pet sitting I would follow whatever routine you have set for your fur babies already so it would be easier on them.
“Very impressed how Linda treated Oscar my Maltese with full attention that made my husband and I feel good about leaving Oscar. Now we don’t need to worry the next time we go for a long vacation. We finally found someone we fully trust and take care of our baby like family. My dog also learned how to ring the bell when he needs to go out. Linda doesn’t only took care of our Oscar but also trained him something he can do that we were not aware about . Kudos to Linda.”

“Abraham took exceptional care of my dogs, Raven and Kisses, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the start, it was clear that Abraham has a real passion for dogs. I was nervous at first because my bully doesn’t get along with other dogs to well and my chihuahua is very picky with people but He was attentive, reliable, and went above and beyond to make sure my dogs were comfortable and well cared for while I was away. I will definitely be booking with him again.”

“Robert is fabulous!! I came to the area for a one month contract job. While driving across country, my 15 year old Chihuahua was grabbed by a big dog and was injured. Dixie could barely walk and had to go to two ERs along the way for care. Being under contract I HAD to start working and couldn't leave her alone or with other pets. I found Robert who happens to be between dogs. He was perfect. Cared for her with her unique needs of having to be picked up and even gave her the medicine she needed during the day. I got reassuring pics and was so relieved to find such a loving place to leave my "special needs" pup. Thank God for Rover and for Robert!”

“My two boys had wonderful time with you and your son, thank you so much!!! Since this was first time in daycare, I was little nervous but now I can see their happy face. Both are sleeping right after got home^^ Thanks again!!!”

“Oreo had such a wonderful time with Barbara! 🐶❤️ She took great care of him and made sure he had a great walk and plenty of playtime. Her dog was super friendly, and Oreo had so much fun playing with her. It was so nice knowing he was in such a caring and loving environment. I really appreciate how well she took care of Oreo and would definitely recommend Barbara. We’d be happy to have Oreo stay with her again”

About: I have had my miniature poodle for about 3 years and she is amazing. We do just about everything together. She my little best friend. I work from home full-time, so pets are never left alone. Dolce and I start our day around 6:00am with a potty break and breakfast. I take her out every four hours, and we go on walks when the weather is nice. She’s well-socialized, loves company, and is very gentle with other pets. Having a steady routine means your pet will get consistent care and attention throughout the entire day. I have a fenced backyard for safe outdoor time. Dolce is a calm, mellow house dog who spends most of her day relaxing near me while I work. She’s friendly and enjoys having visitors around. Pets in my home get a peaceful environment, plenty of supervision, and lots of affection. I treat every animal like my own and ensure they feel comfortable, secure, and loved here.

I truly love spending time with dogs, I love seeing the joy on their faces during play time, outdoor adventures, and during cuddle time. I'd love to help take care of your fur baby in the way that they need! I work remotely so I can devote plenty of time to your fur baby, which means plenty of walks, play time, so your pet will never feel alone When doing drop-in visits or sitting in your home I will always make sure your pet and your space are taken care of with the most utmost respect. Looking after your pet and space is a privilege and happy to help where I can.
About: Over 30 years of pet care experience! I’m the type of person that stops by the side of the road to save a lost animal. My dog is a swimmer, not a walker! I work from home, but have a very flexible schedule. Definitely looking for a morning walker and am open for home drop ins otherwise. Safety is key, it is summer right now so pets should be indoors most the day. Early morning or late evening walks are best. Check the ground temperature and do not walk your dogs when its hot!
“I found the perfect family-style petsitter for my repeat visits to Cameron Park. Irina is a loving mom to her family of 2 and 4-legged kiddos as well as the pets that come for a short stay in her home. She was a wonderful communicator before and during my dog's stay. The photos she sent showed my Corgi was truly happy at Irina's place. I enjoyed talking to Irina about her positive experiences using Rover as a provider and I shared my success with finding a Rover pet sitter near my home in Aizona and now a sitter for a frequent destination in California. I highly recommend Irina and Rover.”

About: Hi there! 💕🐾 I’m Sofia! I’m a stay-at-home mama, lifelong animal lover, and someone who has always had a soft spot for our four-legged friends. I’ve cared for dogs of all shapes, sizes, ages, and personalities, from tiny Chihuahuas and Frenchies to Greyhounds, playful puppies, sweet seniors, and shy little pups who need some extra TLC. **When you're away, your pet deserves a little vacation of their own!** 🐾 Think of my home as Auntie Sofia's house, where your fur baby can enjoy cozy naps, neighborhood walks, couch cuddles, lots of affection, and someone who will absolutely talk to them like they're a tiny human. 😂 I know every animal has their own personality, routines, and funny little quirks. I'm happy to follow their usual schedule, including meals, medications, training cues, and bedtime routines. **Cat lover, too!** 🐱 I offer drop-in visits for nearby kitties, including feeding, fresh water, litter care, playtime, and some good old-fashioned company. I'm also happy to discuss care for other small pets! **A little about our home:** 💗 Our home in El Dorado Hills is cozy, relaxed, and full of love! We have a sweet, curious toddler, so pets staying with us must be comfortable and gentle around young children. Safety is always my priority. I'm experienced in recognizing canine stress signals, managing challenging behaviors, and maintaining safe boundaries. All interactions are supervised, and everyone gets their own space to relax when needed. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pets with someone else. Whether you're away for a weekend or a longer trip, my goal is to make sure they're happy, comfortable, and getting plenty of love. **A little vacation for them and peace of mind for you!** ✨ Can't wait to meet you and your little bestie! 💗 I’m a stay at home mama, so I’m home almost all the time unless my daughter has an appointment. 💕 Caring for animals is already part of my everyday life, so having a pup with me feels very natural. I like to let my routine flow around the pet I’m caring for - whether they need extra walks, frequent potty breaks, medication, playtime, a quiet nap buddy, or approximately 47 cuddles before noon. 😂🐾 I’m happy to follow whatever schedule helps them feel happiest and most at home. I’m a stay-at-home mama, so I’m home with my furry guests most of the day and able to give them lots of attention, supervision, and reassurance. I’m always happy to follow special diets, medication instructions, training routines, or any other needs your fur baby may have, and I keep a close eye on them while they’re in my care. I also love keeping pet parents in the loop with plenty of photo updates and little check-ins, because nobody wants to wonder what their baby is up to. 😂💗 Whether your pet is staying with me or I'm helping, my goal is simple: keep them safe, secure, happy, loved, no matter what!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Martell commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
Yes, you can find sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. Many sitters can respond to messages in under an hour.
To find the fastest available match, message multiple sitters with a recent "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
