“Thank you for easing the transition of my anxious furbaby with showing him continuous support and attention. You made my weekend away from him go a lot smoother by sending pictures and videos which we loved!”

“Lisette was PERFECT for our dog. She understood the importance of a good “fit” and our beagle had an amazing time out on her property. I felt safe leaving my dog with her. I would highly recommend Lisette to anyone needing a competent lady to watch a loved pet.”

“Shannon was responsive, kind, and flexible. I had to add 2 more nights unexpectedly for which she happily accepted. She also sent photos and videos so I could rest knowing my senior dog was being taken care of. Will book again!”

“We had such a great experience with Amy and Justin! They took amazing care of our 10 month old puppy and gave us complete piece of mind while we were away. They were the first non-family members to ever watch Nala and it was obvious that they genuinely cared about her. We received daily detailed updates about what Nala had been up to along with lots of adorable pictures. Amy and Justin have a big enough backyard to allow the dogs staying with them to play. We were so happy with the care Nala received and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone who will truly care for their dog!”

“So very highly recommended!!! Our puppy loves being in their home and receives the best care. The pictures and communications we get while we’re away is such a special touch!”

“Melissa took great care of our goldendoodle while we were away for a long weekend. She sent us pictures and kept us updated on how she was doing. She has so much space for her to run and play. Thank you Melissa!”

“We just want to thank you for your awesome service, from the meet and greet to the drop off and pick up. Your love for dogs is exactly what we where looking for. The updates and pics of our big boy Tsunami shows he was in good hands and haveing a blast. We were able to enjoy our time away knowing he was with a family that was loveing him as much as we do. He is a spoiled dog and by the looks of it he was also spoiled by you and your family. Which makes us very happy and grateful. We look forward to our next visit with you and so does Tsunami. He told us that you are he's new doggie nanny 😁.... Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts. 🐶🐶🐶”

“Pranavi took such wonderful care of or dog, Mochi. She was super responsive, patient, and flexible with our schedule. Loads of pictures and videos were sent. Mochi is still a fairly newly adopted puppy so we weren’t 100 percent sure how she’d react in a new environment but Pranavi assured me she was a good girl and she came home tired and happy!”

“Alexa bonded instantly with our pup and was committed to providing him with the best home away from home possible! She sent loads of pictures and checked in regularly, and it was clear from the photos that he could not have been happier! Thankful to have found such a happy place for Brady to land - he is looking forward to future stays with Alexa!”

“We are so elated that we found Carrie on Rover. She along with her family are sincerely wonderful kindhearted people. We love all the photos and updates. Our dogs are in the best care possible and are treated as if one of their own. Navarrete Family”

“Walee was awesome!! She sent me pictures everyday and she cared for my pet as if it were her own. She took him to the river and on long walks everyday so he was good and tired! I will forever use walee when I go out of town!”

“Great experience! Our dog was well taken care of and seemed very happy and comfortable. Communication was easy, and we really appreciated the updates and photos. We’d definitely book again!”

“Thank you to Michelle and David for watching Clover for the weekend. Clover got to sleep on a bed (instead of in her crate‐ yes, it was okayed!) and had a doggy friend her age to run around with. I think she enjoyed herself!”

“We've only left our dog with two sitters from Rover.com and Michelle proved to be the perfect match for our dog, Abbie. It was obvious that Abbie was much happier with this sitter (than the previous couple)! Michelle sent videos of her showing how happy she was, which was so comforting for us. She will be our preferred dog sitter from now on!”
“Sharon and Albert are a great Team. They are the real deal! Our 10 year old A.J. experiences anxiety when he is dropped off to Sitters. This is recent since his older Brother Gus died at age 15. Sharon and Albert are patient and very caring about everyone's Family Pet! I would recommend this Couple to love your Pet until you returned! Until next three day trip...”

About: I absolutely love dogs and consider them part of the family, I am basically home 24/7 to care for your fur babies. I will watch small, non aggressive, potty trained dogs up to 35 lbs. I have 2 non aggressive 30lb French Bulldogs ages 3 and 8. I am a retired Fire battalion Chief and was also a paramedic for 25 years. I can accept longer vacation dates on a case by case basis as I also travel and need to book around my schedule. I spend time loving the pups in my care & playing fetch in my large yard. I also have a dog door for dogs to access yard. Your pups become my pups when left in my care. I don’t crate dogs unless requested. I request up to date vaccination records & that dogs are clean & flea free. Annual bordetella vaccine to prevent kennel cough is mandatory. All pups eat separately to keep dogs from eating another dog’s food & to prevent food aggression. Dogs are never left alone outside in my large fenced yard which is also locked for safety. I don’t accept aggressive dogs or those with food aggression. Dogs must be spayed or neutered. Meet and greets are always welcome and appreciated. Can’t wait to meet your furry family member! I’m basically home 24/7 and I let the fur babies move about the house freely. They can cuddle with me on the couch if I’m watching tv or play with me outside. I have a large fenced yard with a small turf area. Dogs are not left unattended. As I mentioned before, I will play with your pups and treat them like my own. I also have two sets of stairs for your fur baby to access the couch or bed (different size steps) or I lift them as well. I have 3 different types of dog strollers for morning/evening walks if your fur baby isn’t a walker (like one of my frenchies).
About: I have personally cared for dogs for over 30 years. We are a family of five who enjoys and loves our Laberdoodle, Brother. Our family truly loves caring for other dogs as well with walks, playtime, affection, and plenty of rest, making sure they feel safe and comfortable while in our care. Pet care fits very naturally into our daily and weekly routine. I work from home three days a week, and my wife, Shannon, is home full time as a stay at home mom. Our kids are home from school in the afternoons, so there is almost always someone present to give attention, supervision, and care. We are all available throughout the weekends, which allows for plenty of time for walks, play, and companionship. We are very careful, detail oriented, and affectionate in how we care for pets, whether in our home or a client’s home. We follow routines closely, pay attention to each dog’s personality and comfort level, and prioritize safety at all times. We know what it feels like to trust our own dogs to others through Rover, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our goal is for every dog in our care to feel safe, loved, well exercised, and able to rest comfortably.
“We left our two labs with Abe over nine days and he did a wonderful job. We have a two year-old male and a 10-year-old female. Abe came and picked them up and sent us pictures every day. We loved seeing the photos of the dogs playing, resting, rolling in the grass, and going on their walks. It gave us such peace of mind on our trip. It was also such a luxury to have them picked up and dropped off. I highly recommend Abe!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Martell home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Martell.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Martell sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
