“We were apprehensive as Luna is only 7 months old and has never been apart from us, but Sabrina reassured us she would be fine. She asked all the right questions (feeding, bathroom, sleeping routines) and told us we would get regular updates. Just as promised we got messages, photos and videos of Luna and her walks and meeting all the animals on the farm. When we collected her, it was clear that she had been loved and cared for the entire time we were away, and Luna would have been happy to stay. We won’t use another sitting service again, and would recommend Sabrina in a heartbeat. Thank you Sabrina”

“Melissa and her family and pets were wonderful and took excellent care of my dog when I had to go out of town. She is easy to communicate with and sends regular updates which is appreciated. I can highly recommend her.”

“Patti took excellent care of our Maggie. Patti was willing to take on a four month old puppy and the visit was very successful. Patti was patient and very kind with Maggie. She of course made sure that Maggie had plenty to eat and lots of healthy treats. Patti and Joe opened their house to make Maggie feel at home.”

“Blaze was amazing and was sure to give constant updates and photos. Her property is tailored for dogs to have plenty of space to run around and be happy. Will definitely be making her home our dog’s home away from home when we travel!”

“Linda was so great with our dear Moki lab/husky mix. She sent pictures and updates and I always knew our dog was in the best hands. I would use Linda's services again in a heartbeat!”

“Gina is fantastic. She truly love dogs and goes out of her way to make sure they are comfortable. Her place is wonderful and has ample fenced outdoor space with shade and trees. It's a great environment and she even sent my dog home with a toy she had grown attached to. I'd go back without hesitation.”

“Chris was great! I needed someone in the area to watch my Sandy for the weekend. Chris provided regular updates and Sandy seemed to really enjoy herself and got along well with Chris’s dogs”

“Thank you to Michelle and David for watching Clover for the weekend. Clover got to sleep on a bed (instead of in her crate‐ yes, it was okayed!) and had a doggy friend her age to run around with. I think she enjoyed herself!”

“Michelle is awesome. Lucille has now stayed with her twice and had a great time both times. Michelle even puts up with me changing the pickup times on her at the last minute. She also frequently sends pics & videos to let me know Lucille is doing well. I couldn't ask for someone better for my doggo to stay with when I'm out of town.”

“Sharon was great. We came up from the Bay area to look at houses over the weekend. She sent us updates and pics and our boys settled in nicely. Perfect boarding. Awesome place as well”

“More than once, we have had Walee care for our beloved dog Mosel - a German Shepherd / Great Dane mix. Once there was somewhat of a separation issue for her, but now Mosel is most comfortable with staying, knowing she is in good hands. One couldn't ask for a better 'sitter' than here at Walee's home. Mosel is very happy to stay with her and is well taken care of. Walee sends us daily progress reports and photos of Mosel playing, sleeping, eating and just hanging out with the other dogs. We have the utmost praise and high recommendations for Walee as one of the best dog-sitters we have experienced.”
About: I have had dogs and puppies many times in the past years so I am familiar with the needs of older dogs and puppies. I enjoy walking and taking walks with your dog. I am retired, living in the foothills of Jackson. I can be available to travel to your home, stay in your guest room, and hang out with your pets, or take your small pet at my home. When dogs and I walk I enjoy getting to know the surrounding area. Many times a neighbor will talk to me when we are on our walks! I am retired. Since I am available to travel to your home and stay there with your pets while I enjoy them and the time spent reading and visiting local attractions. Should you wish to use my home for care, I am home a lot while going out for a couple of hours at a time for my social meetings and such. I appreciate that much of the time I spend will be at your home with your pets. If I go out they will be wherever you leave them when you go to work or play. I always make sure they are safe and that I return in time for walks, their next meal and shared evening and sleep routine time.
“Elaine is an amazing, experienced sitter and knew just how to help Floyd feel comfortable and settle in for a short stay. I appreciate the great communication and frequent updates. 100% would recommend her to anyone looking for a safe, caring environment for their animals.”

“Jenn watch my GSP Scout while I was on vacation. Jenn was very accomodating for drop off and pickup times. She send txts of how Scout was doing during her stay. I will be using Jenn again to watch Scout the next time I go on vacation! Thank you Jenn for watching my girl!”

“I know my dog had an amazing time. She looked happy and relaxed when I picked her up. My baby Roxie did well her dog and think they may have horsed around quite a bit since when we got home she just napped like she does after having park time. We got pictures and updates of Roxie and we could tell she was tended to and being loved as well. We were late to pick her up due to flight delays and eventually cancelations. Sylvia was easy to coordinate with for the extra unexpected day. Also, my dog was bitten by a dog the day before we dropped her off and she had meds and special instructions to which I know she kept a good eye on her as the wound/bite had healed and was looking good even 2days after the incident. I would totally recommend her as she is attentive and caring. Roxie is our baby girl and she can be timid but with Sylvia my doggie felt right at home!! That is priceless to know while we were so far away from our little girl.”

“Once again, Sara and Jake were lifesavers when it came to watching my dog when I went out of town on short notice. I have a big, bouncey, energetic boy who can sometimes be a lot to deal with, but Sara’s calm, confident, and highly competent disposition always makes me feel so at ease about leaving my pup with her. She’s also amazing about communicating and sending little updates and photos, which makes me feel even better about sending my doggo off to have a fun getaway. Sara is top of my go-to list for sitters and I’d recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a sweet, fun, safe, and highly capable caregiver for their pet!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Electra home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Electra.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Electra sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
