Chariti was amazing. She gave us such peace of mind while on a day trip where we couldn’t bring our dog. She communicated clearly, provided plenty of pictures to show us how much fun they were having and left things just even cleaner than when we left. We will definitely try to book with Chariti again for our future needs with dog sitting/care!

Amir took fantastic care of Rose our Boston Terrier. We received plenty of pictures of her on a daily basis. And even had to deal with Rose being sprayed by a skunk. Would definitely use Amir again.

About: Hello! I’ve been around dogs my whole life and and excited to get to know yours and help out this summertime! For almost 15 years, I helped raise and take care of my family dog, Dakota. She was terrier mix who loved to play and eat like there’s no tomorrow! A few years after she passed, my sister adopted a puppy, and being a dog aunt has healed my heart once again! I love seeing dogs grow into their own personalities and learn from real world experiences. I feel that helping raise puppies, and continuing to care for them as they age gives me first hand insight on how dogs should be treated for best results: with patience, attention, and compassion. I feel confident giving commands and helping with basic training to puppies and actives, while also being more than happy to sit and chill with others :) Starting in June, I will be off for summer break from my job and will be available almost every day. I have pretty open availability on the weekends and am flexible to change things up. I’m looking forward to having a bit of a mixed schedule and taking things as they go. When sitting in a clients home, I think it’s important to make sure your fur baby feels comfortable since it is their space after all! I will do everything I can to help, whether it’s trying to play or get outside for a walk, but if it’s simply not happening and your pup is feeling nervous about someone they’re unfamiliar with in their home, then I will never push a boundary.

About: Throughout my life I’ve had 2 dogs, 7 cats, and I currently live with 3 cats. I don’t have a preference between cats and dogs, I love them equally! I don’t work a regular job so my schedule is almost always open for pet sitting. I’m free to house sit, dog walk, whenever you need me. I keep my cats indoors, give fresh water every day in their cat fountain. I feed every morning and every night on a consistent schedule, a mix of kibble and wet food.

About: My preferred name is Ethan but you’re welcome to call me Meadow. I’ve taken care of animals since I was in middle school. I have been a pet sitter for many people for a few years now (usually cats and dogs) but I am open to other animals. I have two cats of my own who I love with all my heart! I am trying to build my portfolio to eventually work in the veterinary field. Im currently college to get a degree in Vet Tech. I have class from 10-12 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This summer is really busy with animal care but you can always ask about dates and times. I follow care instructions to a t. I love playing with animals and some good lap time. I can do pretty much anything whether an animal has special needs/ care instructions. And am open to taking care of other kinds of animals besides dogs.

Janelle was fantastic! She stayed with our 11 year old dog in our home for a week, and we couldn't be more pleased. She took great care of our beloved dog and home (the house was cleaner than when we left). She enthusiastically followed my many instructions, keeping our dog's routines in tact while we were away, with lots of walks, snuggles, treats and pictures provided. She even took our dog on errands with her so she wouldn't be left home alone. I will use Janelle anytime we need a sitter and highly recommend her. I was also very impressed with her attention to detail, affection and consideration for my pup's welfare. Thank you Janelle!

This is the first time Evelyn has done a sit for me, and I couldn't be more pleased. For 8 days she lived in my home and took care of my rambunctious Doberman. She texted me daily with information about how he was doing, notified me when she had questions or concerns, responded promptly to my texts/calls, provided Maestro with the agreed-upon food and medications, and took good care of my home as well. I will definitely be using her in the future.

She took great care of our two girl dogs. Our anxious girl has separation anxiety so it’s very helpful she’s able to be with them in our home so much. It is very hard to find a sitter that doesn’t have to leave for another job, go home to care for other pets, can’t stay the night, etc. We will be booking with her in the future!

I cannot emphasize how awesome Aimee is. She handled my dog Kira's unexpected medical emergency like a champ and showered my other dog Tobi with so much love and affection. I feel like Tobi was his regular spoiled self with Aimee the whole time I was gone. I also believe in my heart that my sweet girl Kira loves her as much. I would not hesitate to recommend Aimee to anyone, and fight you if you decide to have Aimee watch your lovies and I need the same dates. :)

Karen is everything you want when leaving an anxious weimaraner alone with a pet sitter for the first time. She’s communicative, sending updates by text and video to keep the anxious pet parents at ease. She’s compassionate, understanding Poppy’s need to speak out loud and sleep really close. She’s calming for all of us. We are confident we have found the perfect dog sitter.

Aidan did a wonderful job caring for our two goldens and house while we were away for a week. He communicated consistently, sent regular photo updates, followed routines for our pups, and kept our home neat and well cared for. When we returned, our dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly tired from having so much fun and attention during the week. It was such a relief to know they were in good hands while we were away. We would absolutely book Aidan again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

About: I've been caring for dogs ever since I was young and we got our first family dog. My parents had us rotate pet chores including feeding, bathing, walking, picking up poop, etc; I've done it all! I've dog sat many times for family and friends and I love all different breeds and ages. I LOVE going for walks! Last minute? No problem, I'm very flexible during the weekdays! I'm available weekdays for dog sitting/ walking/ drop ins! Some availability on weekends as well, we can work something out! Very flexible, & open for last minute bookings! I cannot board pets at this moment, I am only available for dog sitting in clients homes. I'm very respectful of clients' homes and good at following the at home pet procedures that are unique to each pet. I'm very clean, organized, responsible, respectful, and considerate.

FAQs for House Sitting - Marmot

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 3,705 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Marmot. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Marmot walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Marmot maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Marmot choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Marmot. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
