“Shannon took great care of our fur babies while we were away. Litter box was cleared and furballs picked up! Kitties were very happy to have her visits and give pets! Would absolutely use her service again! Great communication 👍🏽”

“Steve goes above and beyond the normal cat care tasks. He is always on time, does a thorough job and provides excellent feedback giving us peace of mind while we are away. He even brought along a laser pointer to engage them in playtime!”

“We are so grateful for the amazing care our pet received! From the very beginning, it was clear how kind, responsible, and attentive you are. You went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and it gave us such peace of mind while we were at work! Our pet was happy, comfortable, and clearly well-loved when we returned. We truly appreciate the updates, communication, and extra care you put into everything. It means so much to know we have someone we can trust completely. Thank you again for your dedication and care—we would absolutely recommend you to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate pet sitter and will book you again in the future!”

“Grace went above and beyond - The lock number had been changed for our front door, and she stayed hours to make sure she got in to take care of our pups! She was cool calm and collected when faced with an emergency, would 10/10 recommend her to anyone looking for care.”

About: Currently a veterinary assistant at veterinary hospital and I’m an animal science major! Cared for and love animals all my life and looking for extra things to do for the summer with my free time💗 I work part time as Veterinary Assistant and I intern at a zoo as well! I see and care for a multitude of different species of animals everyday, while also owning my own dog! I’m mostly free nights and I have a couple days a week off. I’m very familiar with giving meds to animals, as well as catering to whatever needs they may have! just had surgery? I know how to care for them! I don’t mind going on long walks, or playing outside for long periods of time. If you have specific things in your routine you would like me to do with your pets, please let me know!
“We’ve been using shannon consistently for the last month and she has been wonderful. We have an anxious big 70lb girl and she absolutely adores her!!! Highly recommend using shannon for your babies!”

About: Dogs are just naturally drawn to me! I have three dogs at home (two are golden retriever puppies) and I have experience with many different breeds, sizes, and personalities! I'm working part time at a different job in the early mornings (mainly on the weekends), but I am free in the afternoons and nighttimes every day! I have a fenced yard and I make sure that the dogs are close by me when I take them out to play. I can be very playful and energetic with active dogs (puppies love playtime!) but I am also very delicate and encouraging towards calmer dogs! Their health, safety, and happiness are always my top priority! I am very respectful in a client's home, making sure that everything will continue to be safe for the dogs while they are under my care!
“Giselle was great checking on our cats while we were away. She sent daily updates including video clips spending time, petting, brushing and interacting with our two kitties. I believe spending a half hour a day. We returned home to everything tidy and a fresh litter box. We very much appreciate it as we miss our guys when away and glad they got some special attention. Thank you!”

“Thank you so much for being patient w our Lily, Heather! We will definitely book again. You went above and beyond with communication and we couldn’t have asked for a better visit!”

About: I’ve had cats and dogs my entire life and currently help care for a high-energy Border Collie/Sheltie mix and three cats. I have experience caring for senior and special-needs pets, including administering transdermal and liquid medications and helping manage ongoing medical care for a cat with hyperthyroidism. I also helped care for a dog with hypothyroidism, pancreatitis, and liver disease, giving me experience following specialized care routines and monitoring pets with chronic health conditions. I’m comfortable reading cat and dog body language, handling multi-pet households, and caring for cats who are skilled escape artists. I understand that every pet has its own personality, routine, and needs, and I focus on keeping pets safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. Pet care is already a part of my daily routine. I work part-time Tuesday through Thursday from 3–6 PM and Saturdays from 8 AM–3 PM. Outside of those hours, I have flexible availability for drop-in visits and house sitting and can provide feeding, walks, playtime, companionship, and medication administration as needed. When caring for pets in their home, I follow their routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I pay close attention to cat and dog body language, take extra care with pets who may try to escape, and make sure doors, gates, and other safety measures are always secure. I’m also comfortable caring for senior and special-needs pets and administering medications according to owner instructions.
“Kris has been absolutely amazing with Ralphie and Penny. She was timely in her initial response to my request, was flexible with scheduling a meet&greet, and has continued to be communicative during drop ins. She is clearly knowledgeable, experienced, and the dogs love her. I would 100% recommend her services.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
