“Stephanie M. was awesome! This is the first time I have used Rover and Stephanie made me feel at ease about leaving my 2 cats in her care. She sent great pictures and documented what they were up to in detail. I will definitely ask her to watch my babies again!”

About: I'm a huuuge pet lover! I have two cats of my own, routinely walk my neighbor's dogs, and also volunteer at my local cat shelter every week. Cleaning up poop, litter boxes, hairballs, and puke are second nature to me haha! I also took care of my senior cat who lived to 23 years, so senior pets have a very special place in my heart. Rest assured your pet will be in great hands with me. :) I work from homr 4x/week so my schedule is very flexible. I am often free any time of day (besides tuesdays) from 7am to overnights if needed. I'm flexible to all scheduling - just let me know! I do dog walks, dog feedings, cat feedings, and cat walks (if you are interested!) :) I can keep all pets company if you're just at work for the day or need a late-night stay for a date-night.

“This is our second time with Julie caring for our cat Pixie and will not be our last. She is prompt about getting to our house to feed Pixie and does not simply feed her and rush out the door when she is done. Pixie is an extreme affection sponge and we love that Julie sticks around and cuddles with our little one while we are away. I always feel so guilty when we are gone for more than a day, but knowing Julie is going to be sitting with Pixie and giving her the attention she craves really helps me relax. Julie is also so sweet with Pixie. Pix has a habit of getting under foot and can be very chatty. Julie has the patience of a saint navigating the one cat obstacle course to get through our kitchen while prepping her meals. We are thrilled to have come across Julie on Rover and already have discussed with her our next booking, which will be sudden and unpredictable as we go into the hospital to have our first child. She is so open to when we said "yeah, it will be sometime between this date and this date and could be 2-5 days long and will be a very last second booking". Not only did she respond immediately, but she told us no problem, she will be around and to let her know. Shes the best and we so highly recommend her to take care of the fur babies!”

“McKenzie was fantastic while I was away on vacation, taking great care of my two cats and dog. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly gave each pet the attention they needed. I came home to happy, well-cared-for animals and total peace of mind. I’d absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her!”

“Jade was wonderful as always! He communicated regularly with details of his adventures with our dogs and spent extra time with them to make sure they were happy during our trip. He is accommodating and so generous with his time and attention. We highly recommend Jade!!”

“Rachael is fantastic. She took wonderful care of my dog Riggs and kept me in the loop the entire time. Professional, trustworthy, and a true animal lover. I highly recommend her!”

“Nicole saved my butt with a last minute notice of needing someone to come let my dog out.. She had never even met my baby who tends to be very skittish around new people for a few seconds.. but she handled it like a pro and we came home to a content happy dog,so she must have been good to him!!! she even sent me an adorable photo.. she kept me informed.. she asked all the right questions.. I couldn't recommend her more! she was great..”

About: Hi, I have been taking care of animals for over 25 years now. I also use to breed German Shepherds for eight years. I am a stay at home mom and Rover, is my full time job now that my kids are teens. I use to foster dogs and other animals before I had a family and worked on two farms, So I have a lot of experience with different types of breeds, temperaments, past abuse, and very skittish animals. I have much confidence when it comes to taking care of special case dogs, senior dogs, newborn/Whelping puppies and more. We live in a house with over two acres of land, with lots of lovely areas to walk, including a cemetery that is located over the fence in our yard. It has lots of roads that are quiet and safe. I find this great because they gets lots and lots of exercise, and its great for dogs that may be frightened of loud, busy streets, or leash reactive dogs. We also have doggie pools ,( when it's hot) if your pup loves water play! My German Shepherd and Papilions are highly trained and socialized . They are extremely well behaved, as well as amazing house dogs and companions to my autistic son. HOWEVER, your dog/s and my dogs will NEVER come in physical contact with each other. . We are highly active family, so lots of play and exercise fits in our schedule everyday. While hosting your pets at my house, they will receive the same attention and affection as if they were my own dogs. I always sleep in the same room as the pups ( unless told otherwise) to keep they company and comfortable during their stay. We will have lots of potty breaks, keep right on track with feeding schedule. Everyday we will have lots of play time, down relax time, and brain stimulating fun as well. I will take them on long walks at the cemetery that is behind the fence of our home. I ONLY do family boardings, I do not mix other family dog/s. I find no matter how socialized they are, being away from home on top of being with unfamiliar dogs can always have a possibility of disaster. My goal is to keep everyone safe! I will take up to 2 dogs from the same family. Thank you for understanding. I absolutely am an animal lover, and it's the only job that makes me feel happy, confident and I have such a passion for this work So your pets will become my family when they are with me. I will always protect them and care for them like they are my own. I will always send pictures and videos of your furbaby while they are in my care. I am very good at keeping in contact with of my clients via their choice of email, text message or phone/video calls. Please ask me as many questions as you like, I am eager to learn about your fur babies! My dogs are on strict, daily routine that doesn't interfere with my work schedule. However my dogs and your dog/s will not come in physical contact with each other. We have two wings of our home and the main house where are dogs are. Down the hall we have the ..... Huge Doggie Suite!! Equipped with a mini fridge for meds and wet food, with lots of toys, beds,blankets, a big doggie couch, Sink, Raincoats and snow jackets, AC AND HEAT. Lots of windows and sky lights, screen windows to slide open to get that fresh crisp air in the morning and gentle breeze at night. Spring and Fall are best for those times. But we will have fun all year round because I am a huge outdoors person. I also have doggie Tv playing everyday!!😊 My schedule most of the time will be wide open, which only a few days here and there that I won't be available. I will follow all your directions to a T, and you will never be disappointed by my services! I look forward to all my new pup and "hooman" clients.
“Victoria was great with Layla and Adonis. She arrived on time for each scheduled day and provided excellent care to the dogs. We truly appreciate that she was available for the days requested and plan to use her again in the future. Thanks so much Victoria!”

About: Welcome, y'all! I love watching dogs. We watch kitty cats too 😁. Cheapest rates around! Let me make it easier for you to celebrate your vacation and holidays! Let me sit for your pup. I...love... dogs! My parents were dog breeders for years. As a youngster, I was responsible for many of the chores. As an adult, I have always had pets. I know how important your dog is to you. Your dog is your 'baby'. We are definitely dog lovers in this house! Big dog specialist. I love the little dogs too, though! ☺️💪🎄🎁❤️🩹 I will treat your pup like my own. I am a teacher during the day. I'm usually home by 3. I'm home every afternoon and every night and every weekend. I do have flexibility in my work schedule should they need arise. I have a dog lead hooked up to the house and it goes all the way back to the maple tree on the back of the property. 20 ft in either direction gives Fido plenty of room to go to the bathroom. Otherwise, your pup is in the house with me and my family. I am offering dog boarding services. This is a friendly Christian home. Lots of love to share.
“Theresa took excellent care of our cats while we were away. She followed instructions exactly and was very responsive to messages. Most importantly the cats liked her! Would absolutely recommend her, and will be hiring Theresa again for our next trip”

“Lauren is our go-to dog walker now! She’s reliable and timely, and cares for my elderly dog with all of her many medication needs. Lauren is awesome. Would highly recommend.”

“Nina is very responsible and took great care of my new puppy, Charlotte. She played with her, took her outside gave her a snack and made sure she is left in her enclosed area. Will definitely re-hire!”

“Madeleine has been caring for my dogs since high school. She is attentive, kind and wonderful with my dogs. It shows on how excited they are to see her when she drops in. She provides the best care and from the beginning asked for instruction to make sure she does exactly what is needed to be done each time she visits. I have cameras outside the house and she’ll often bring toys out to play with them during her drop ins. I can’t say enough good things about the care she provides for my dogs. They love her and we do too!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Marion
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mike! I trust very few people with my 3 dogs — Barry (12), Fiona (3), and George (1) — because they all have completely different personalities and needs. Mike has been incredibly patient, caring, and attentive with each of them, and it’s obvious how much he genuinely loves animals. I know they are in great hands when they’re with him. One of the things I appreciate most is how dependable and accommodating he is. Even with very last-minute requests, Mike always does his best to fit me into his schedule. He is also fantastic with communication. He keeps me updated before, during, and after visits, and always sends pictures of the pups on walks and playing. I highly recommend Mike, my dogs love him!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
