“Steve was the absolute best! He was very accommodating to moving a scheduled day we had planned to another day and time. He did so well with both of my dogs and he was very attentive and sent us a lot of pictures of his time with them. We will happily welcome him back whenever!”

“Priscilla was absolutely fantastic with our boys. They're prone to mischief, and not surprisingly Priscilla found some. She handled it by first letting us know immediately, and then even cleaned up the mess the boys made by tipping over one of our plants. Communication was excellent, and the boys were clearly comfortable with her caring for them. I recommend Priscilla unconditionally.”

“Sam has now cared for both of my pets - my cat Milo and my dog Kieli. She has taken phenomenal care of both. She is patient and kind, and both of my babies like her a lot! Which is a huge compliment, they can both be a bit standoffish to strangers.”

About: What sets me apart is the amount of genuine care and attention I give every pet. I’ve always had animals growing up, so caring for them comes very naturally to me, and I truly love being around them. I understand that every pet has a different personality, comfort level, and routine, and I take the time to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while in my care. I’m patient, attentive, and reliable, whether that means keeping up with an energetic puppy, giving extra comfort and gentleness to senior pets, or simply making sure pets get plenty of affection and companionship. I also keep owners updated regularly with messages and photos so they can feel comfortable knowing their pets are being well cared for. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, so I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, supervision, and consistency throughout the day. I make time for walks, feeding schedules, playtime, potty breaks, and one-on-one attention, while also making sure pets have a calm and comfortable environment to relax in. I’m organized, flexible with routines, and able to adjust care based on each pet’s individual needs and energy level. In my home, pets are treated like part of the family. I make sure they have a safe, clean, and calm environment with plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks, fresh water, and a consistent routine. I pay close attention to each pet’s personality and comfort level, whether they’re energetic and playful or more shy and relaxed. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so they can feel comfortable while they’re away. In clients’ homes, I respect both the pet’s routine and the home itself. I follow all care instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and any special preferences or behaviors. I try to keep pets as comfortable and stress-free as possible by maintaining their normal routine and giving them lots of care and companionship.
“Nina is very responsible and took great care of my new puppy, Charlotte. She played with her, took her outside gave her a snack and made sure she is left in her enclosed area. Will definitely re-hire!”

“Victoria was great with Layla and Adonis. She arrived on time for each scheduled day and provided excellent care to the dogs. We truly appreciate that she was available for the days requested and plan to use her again in the future. Thanks so much Victoria!”

About: I work from home full time for a tech company and have a flexible schedule but no longer a dog of my own, so I love to fill my time with other people's pets. Able to work from anywhere so that your pet isn't alone if needed. Have experience with large and small dogs, cats, birds, and horses. Experience with medicating, walking, sticking to training schedules, and I'm always up for a hike, play in the yard, or just a lazy cuddle on the couch. I bring treats and patience :) References available. Available for walks, play and overnight stays too. I work from home so as long as I've got Wi-Fi and my laptop I can come to you! Responsible, educated, and employed adult. Have experience house sitting, overnights, and administering medication. Whether walks, long term stays, or check ins, fur babies will be spoiled, training will be kept, and fun will be had! Very communicative.
“I was very nervous to use an app like this since I’m trusting someone with my babies… but Julie put me at ease and was amazing. Both of my kitties were super happy and well taken care of. 10/10 would book again.”

About: I have owned and cared for pots of all types and kinds since I was a child, particularly cats and dogs. As an adult, I have owned three dogs and four cats and deeply enjoy the experience of being a pet parent myself. I have cared for, walked, fed, and watched overnight for many length of days many cats and dogs for my friends, family and professionally. I understand the nuances of what is required for individual pet care and how to follow directions carefully. I'm in excellent communicator and want to ensure that my pet parents that I work for are kept in the loop and feel comfortable with my service! I take special care to ensure that each individual pet is cared for in the way that they need and particularly to ensure that no animal is ever let out without being on the leash or let out at all if they are a cat. I genuinely enjoy playing with cats and dogs and making sure that they get the adequate exercise and stimulation that they need. I look forward to caring for your pet soon! Ps, I am very strong and have experience with walking large dogs, as powerlifting is a hobby of mine in my spare time! Since I work from home part-time, I have lots of flexibility and fluidity to care for someone's pet or meet a need at the last minute. I live in Central Connecticut which is very close to every County and I'm comfortable taking a drive if needed. I have an extremely flexible schedule between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. I would only be providing services in other people's homes to let them out or feed them daily or any kind of walking or playing services. In my own home, I currently have two cats who enjoy free reign of the home. We do also have a fenced in yard fully, but at this time I would not be offering that service in my own home.

I always love to spend my free time with animals. Any availability I have is used to to go towards my pets and hopefully yours! I never let animals I don't know very well be off leash outside without my supervision, it is dangerous to me to be careless like that. I never take it too fast and id love to scedule a meet and greet.
“Katie is absolutely amazing. We were having an incredibly stressful week and it was nice to know our dog was in great hands. Highly recommend, we’d love to have her watch Major again in the future.”

“Ashley has been a god send to our family (and our pup). She has helped our family out last minute on many occasions, and when we are both at work my mind is at peace knowing Ashley is scheduled to care for our dog. She is reliable and I know my dog is in good hands when she is sitting her. I can’t say thank you enough for her help.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Pequabuck
Cheyenne is the absolute BEST sitter we have ever used. She is always on time, sends lots of pictures, and leaves detailed reviews of what took place during the visit. Our Emma adores her, and we have the piece of mind that she’s in the best hands while we are away.

James is fantastic with our dogs! He’s punctual, friendly, and has a natural ability to make them feel comfortable right away. He follows directions perfectly and pays attention to every detail. We always feel at ease knowing our pups are in great hands. I’d highly recommend James or his wife to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate pet care!

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
