Michael has been amazing with Tucker since he has started with us! Tucker is happy when he arrives & it's very obvious they have formed a great connection. Michael has also been assisting with our ongoing training for Tucker on his walks & is always making sure Tucker is safe. We really lucked out when we found Michael & are all very happy with his services & work ethic. Would highly recommend to anybody in search of dog-walking & pet care needs.

About: I have had dogs since I was very young. I have trained pups and cared for senior dogs.I love the companionship of animals! All pets will be treated as family. I am retired and have a very well behaved female GSD under 2 years old. She is very good with other dogs and loves to play with them. I have a fenced in yard where our house guest will have plenty of room to run. 1 female GSD lives here and enjoys the company. I can also keep them separate if that is the preference.

About: I try to take parts of Cesar Milan's strategy with dogs specifically. Trying to not reward bad behavior. Making sure a pet can respect my boundaries. Currently have a dog walking client at Winding Brook Condominiums in Meriden. I’m there twice a day for 30 minute walks and play. I bought some balls for her so she can play. Have videos and lots of photos. I work flexible hours as an independent contractor so I make my own schedule. I am building my pet care business so I am signing up for a drone pilots license for pet recovery. I am also working on upgrading my vehicle to a minivan. I am offering pet sitting in your home until that can change to my home. I am needing different things done to my home before I can bring pets to my house.

About: As a dedicated pet sitter, my experience goes beyond the basics- I specialize in fostering dogs of all ages and needs which has equipped me with a unique skill set that sets me apart from other sitters. My passion for animals is endless. I grew up with dogs and I've had several of my own. I have a passion for helping dogs with health impairments, providing them with gentle, attentive care they require. From administering medications to managing special diets, I ensure every furry friend feels comfortable and loved. With younger high-energy pups, I focus on positive reinforcement helping them develop good habits while channeling their energy into fun activities. My playful approach keeps them engaged. For older dogs, I provide a common soothing environment. I understand their specific needs, from mobility challenges to dietary restrictions, and I'm skilled at adapting our activities to ensure they enjoy their time without strain. Having fostered numerous dogs, I'm adept at assessing individual personalities. Whether your pet needs a playmate, a gentle caretaker, I am here to provide a nurturing and enriching experience that caters to their unique needs. Trust that your pet will be in the best of hands! I am a full-time teacher, so my availability is mostly on the weekends or during our long breaks such as Thanksgiving break, Christmas break, April vacation, and long weekends. I have evenings free to let out animals or walk them as well. I live in a 900 square foot apartment that has an open floor plan. My dog is happy here and has free roam of the place. She loves a cuddle companion, but I am also equipped to create your dog if needed.

As of this moment I am looking to make dog walking and animal care my full time job. I am available Sunday, Monday - Friday from as early as 7am until as late as 7pm. Saturday early morning, 7am-9am & early evening 5pm-7pm As your dog walker & drop in visit go to, I will provide love and care for your baby while you are out of the home or super busy on work calls. About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and genuinely love spending time with them, especially dogs and cats. I have a golden retriever and two cats of my own, so I know how important it is to have someone you truly trust caring for your pets while you’re away! I’m very reliable, patient, attentive and I honestly just enjoy being around them. I love being outside, going on walks, and making pets feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. I also have a very flexible schedule, so I’m able to give pets plenty of attention and consistency throughout the day. I’m comfortable with dogs of most sizes and energy levels, as well as cats, kittens, and puppies! Whether your pet is super energetic or more shy and relaxed, I’m happy to work with their routine and make sure they feel happy and comfortable while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets! Whether it’s a walk, a drop-in, or just some attention during the day, I’m happy to help! I don’t care for pets in my own home, but I’m very respectful and reliable when it comes to caring for pets in their own space. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely, make sure everything is secure before I leave, and give plenty of attention and care during my visit! I want your pets to feel safe and comfortable while you’re away.

Rachael did a great job with my dog Harry today! He came home happy & tired so that's a good thing. He ate his dinner quite heartily too, ha, ha! I'm looking forward to having her come back again hopefully on a regular basis for walks & see if we can get some weight off Harry as he is overweight for his size right at this stage in life. Thanks so much Rachael!

  • 93% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
