“Tania did a great job taking care of our senior pup who suffers from separation anxiety and doesn’t like to take her meds. Tania was prompt, easy to communicate with before and during her stay, sent lots of pictures, and left our house immaculate. We will definitely use her again.”

“Kat was a good send, last minute I was in need of someone to come and take care of my 7th month old puppy and stay at my place. She responded to my post in hours and was flexible as I figured out If it could work. She agreed to come and meet me first so we can connect since this was the first time I had ever hired a dog sitter. She took great care of my puppy and it was clear she is a natural. She took our pupp6 to her office well she worked, which was great because I meant she was never alone for too long. She took great care of the house and left it in great shape. I'm so glad that I found Kat for the next time. We need a do sitter.”

“Elika is wonderful. She takes such good care of my pup Finn, all my plants (and there are a lot), and the home -- leaving everything as good if not better than when I left. I highly recommend her services.”

About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them is something that genuinely brings me so much joy. I treat every dog like family, making sure they feel safe, loved, comfortable, and spoiled with plenty of attention, playtime, cuddles, and care. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I’ll give them the same love and patience I would give my own. I’d love the opportunity to become your dog’s favorite sitter and give you peace of mind while you’re away! 🐾❤️ I currently work a full-time job from 7:30 AM to 4 PM, but most of my evenings are free and weekends perfect if you need a sitter for a weekend getaways or a night out! I live on a 2 acre property and my roommate has a very friendly border collie that gets along with almost anything, I usually watch her if my roommate is out of town!
“Monica took great care of my aging, somewhat needy pittie and her sister kitty, and kept me informed with messages and photos. Great communication! My house was left clean and linens washed. My deck plants were also well taken care of. Hope for a repeat someday.”

I’m a responsible, non-smoker with a clean background, and I treat your space with the same care as my own.

“Bronte did a great job watching my two dogs over night. She left everything in order at the house and the dogs really liked her from the moment she came through the door. I would highly recommend her for pet sitting.”

“Chiara was absolutely awesome! She exceeded my expectations and took such good care of ember and bjoern! She took the dog on a lot of fun adventures and was able to administer the cat’s medicine, which isn’t the easiest! She sent multiple updates daily which is so appreciated. She also left the house in great condition. Will definitely hire again!”
“Taylor is responsible for, kind, smart, and wonderful with dogs! We have a Blue Heeler mix who is picky about who he likes and he bonded with her immediately. She took him on the long walks that he needs and also gave him the love he needed to be happy and relaxed when we came home. Our home was left spotless and our dog was happy. What more could we ask for?! We will definitely engage her again without hesitation!”

“Pat was great! She came by for a meet & greet ahead of her stay with our dog and was very communicative throughout. She was thoughtful and we’ll definitely be using her again!”

About: Hello! My name is Lyanne and I have been in the bay area for 7 years. I am currently developing ocean literacy curriculum for National Geographic with a flexible schedule which allows for me to be available as needed for your pet care needs. Attention to detail and communication skills are very important to me. I have always been an animal lover and have grown up with dogs my entire life. I have extensive experience with senior dogs, administering medication, and I understand the patience it takes to work with fearful/timid dogs. While caring for your dog I will send updates via text messages with pictures to ease your mind and let you know that your pet is in the best care possible. I have cat sat for the past 3 years through word of mouth and love creating deep bonds with the animals I care for. Long walks or fun play, keeping their schedules regular is my goal. If you are looking for someone who is trust worthy, caring and responsible then look no further. Please contact me today for your petsitting needs. You will not be disappointed! I will tend to your pet throughout the day since this is my time off and I would not be working. This means, early morning wake up, 30 minutes to an hour walk, 30 minute rest, feeding, followed by relaxation and play until noon. At around noon, another walk (30 minute) and/or play or relaxing depending on energy level of the dog and finally evening, another walk and/or play. If you have a yard, there would be intermittent outdoor time throughout the day, especially as some dogs love to sunbathe, smell flowers, or chase lizards. Basically, I will tend to their needs and make them feel as comfortable as they could be without their owners around. I can take your pet on walks 2-3 times a day (less or more if you would like) and tend to their needs. Since I will be doing this during my time off, I will mostly be home with the dogs (at most 2-3 hours away total doing groceries or going to gym). I can crate your dog if needed, but they will mostly be with me. If there are parks around, I will gladly take them there.

“I recently had Madison house sit and pet sit for nearly two weeks, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She took wonderful care of my cat, playing with him multiple times a day and regularly sending pictures so I always knew how he was doing. It's clear she genuinely loves animals. I came home to a happy, relaxed cat, just as I had left him. Madison was also incredibly responsive throughout the stay. Any time I had a question, she replied quickly and put my mind at ease. She also left the house in great shape, which I really appreciated. Leaving your pet with someone new can be a worrisome experience, but I never felt anxious once with Madison. I was completely at ease knowing my cat and home were in such capable, caring hands. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive pet sitter, and I will absolutely be hiring her again without hesitation.”

“Cathleen was absolutely wonderful with my two labs. This is the first time I have left them with an overnight sitter, and I could tell by the way my dogs greeted her, that she is loved by dogs! She was kind and caring, texted updates and pictures which I appreciated, took them for walks and even slept with them! Cathleen will be my Luna and Bear’s babysitter again! Thank you, Cathleen, for taking such good care of my babies!”

“Andrea was so great with my pups! She had to watch three dogs at once and did amazing! She was extremely flexible when my plans changed. We returned to happy boys and a spotless home! I will definitely use her again and would highly recommend her!”

“Orrya was great! We got regular updates and pictures of our buddy during our trip. She was very helpful and accommodating when we ran into some issues with our travel home. Will definitely look to book her for our next outing!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Marconi walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Marconi maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Marconi choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
