“Susan did a wonderful job taking care of our dogs and cats for the weekend. They were well cared for and well loved, as her adorable pictures showed. She was extremely trustworthy, a great communicator and went above and beyond caring for the animals and our house. We are so lucky to have found her and can’t wait to have her come again!”

About: Sri Sharie is a long time animal lover, enthusiastic about the beauty that our animals share with us. I do some training, and I am an animal communicator 🙂🧚 I also delight in sharing timeless wisdom, natural remedies, and endless enthusiasm for all the animals... All creatures great and small. Holistic Health Professional for over 35 years, a Magical Genius in the Gene Keys system - my conscientious care and versatile tool kit are on offer throughout the Bay Area I am semi-retired from my professional practice as teacher of healing arts, and individual and couples therapist. I have a lot of experience with service animals. I love to connect the dots in terms of the stresses that we are experiencing in our own bodies and then how our animals respond, and sometimes they carry our burdens. I love to support clearing and balancing for everybody's health! Since my journey in the last decade, which I call my radical sabbatical, I am ever grateful to be connecting differently with people rather than simply as a therapist. We are all in this together, and love abounds! I grew up with dogs, and more dogs. We had German shepherds and a Mastiff when I was very young, later my mother raised Border Collies, and my sister raised Jack Russells. I do love to help train dogs when they need it, it is ever so important, and help the owners get in the best groove with their relationship to their precious companions... My mother also had a Maine Coon cat and a small dog that were best friends and I have to say this is my favorite thing ever... In the '70s I hitchhiked across the country with a kitten tucked in my parka...
“There aren't enough words to express how thankful we are to have found Francesco. He was incredible with our dog Betty. He was very good about updates and really intuitive in his interactions with her. She's really slow to warm to people and was calm with him very quickly. Our home and Betty seem to be in better shape than when we left. We will be sure to recommend him to anyone in need and will be booking with him again in the near future. Thank you again, Paul and Krystal”

“I can't thank Orrya enough for watching my little Georgia while I was gone. Not only did she spend the day/night with her, the house was spotless when I came home....And, she left DoggieTV on for her:). What a wonderful touch!!”
About: I’ve cared for my family friends' dogs while they were away, which helped me understand the importance of building trust with both pets and owners. I am currently enrolled in school on weekends and trade school in evening. I and available during weekday mornings and afternoons to provide reliable dog sitting services. My cats are indoor-only, and my dog enjoys a large backyard for play. Due to my cats' territorial nature, it might be challenging to accommodate other animals in my home.
“Kim was awesome with Pepper, first person outside of family/friends I’ve trusted to stay with her! My pup is sweet but can be timid, Kim’s calm and kind energy made her an immediate friend of Pep. Upon returning home, it was evident how much she loved Kim. The consistent communication, daily updates, and pictures were the best. Will definitely use her again!”

“Michelle is responsive, kind, showed up for everything on time and was flexible when I needed to rearrange. She took great care of Ziggy. I could tell how happy he was when I returned home. Everything was in order at the house and I will definitely use her again and highly recommend anyone else who wants a great conscientious Dog Sitter?.”

“Clare was great as always. Our little princess absolutely loves her, they have great cuddle and play time and Clare always sends us pictures while we're away. She has both come by for checkins and also stayed with our pup while we were away and she always leaves the house in great order and just how we left it. She's professional and a great caretaker for our dog. We love her and she's always our go to dog sitter! ”

“When you first meet certain people, you know they are real and up front with you, such that you will have no worries leaving your pets and home in their care. Brianna is such a person. She was just like a gift coming to the front door to meet us and our pets. Her care and concern is the very best. We received updates and pictures of our cats with text messages about their activities. Three of our cats get meds and one needs a little bit of special attention. Brianna was on top of it all. We recommend her to anyone booking for pet care they can count on.”
“Mariia and Ethan were great! Excellent communicators, happy and well exercised pup and a clean house upon return. You couldn’t ask for anything more. They are responsive and responsible. We will be using them again!”

“Guillermo housesat our Pittie for 13 days and did a great job. This is the second time we used Guillermo’s services. He was was responsive with communications. He sent daily messages with photos of them on walks. He took good care of the house too. It was a great experience. Thank you Guillermo!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,135 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sacramento Landing. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sacramento Landing walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sacramento Landing maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sacramento Landing choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
