“Gina did such a great job taking care of the place and making sure I had regular updates and photos throughout my trip. It meant a lot to have that peace of mind. She is truly an animal lover and I am so glad I found her! Definitely would recommend. Excellent job!”

“Thank you, Holly for your service in watching Ryder and being with him. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I loved the pictures you sent from the trips you made to the park. My brother said rides in the car are what he lives for. I appreciate your efforts to entertain him. It helps so much to be relieved knowing there is someone there for him. He gets lonely so easily.”

“Clair was a Christmas blessing! We first booked Clair to sit for our kitty but after meeting her felt comfortable to have her sit our pups one evening. Prior to booking Clair for the first time we had already booked our holiday Rover for the dogs with someone else. We traveled to the east coast and was notified we needed to pick up the dogs a day early meanwhile we were not around to do so. Thankfully Clair came to our rescue and picked up our pups from the Rover sitter, took them back home, took them out during the day, fed them and spent the night with them. We are so thankful to have found Clair. She is super reliable and top notch! Thanks Clair”

About: I have been around pets since a baby, I love all animals and am patient and loving. I recently took care of two litters of puppies in Mexico and have been assisting my local town there with vaccinating and spaying pups I am currently unemployed and would love the chance to take care of a furry friend! I have a car and am happy to take care of and hangout with a new friend I can bring a crate if necessary, I have experience walking pups on leashes and feel comfortable with that. I have been training pups recently and am happy to work with yours!
“Kat is very professional and responsive - which is very important to me! She also has a great questionnaire that answers a lot of questions that are easy to forget before hand. Kat will be my first choice when booking in the future!”

“Susan did a wonderful job taking care of our dogs and cats for the weekend. They were well cared for and well loved, as her adorable pictures showed. She was extremely trustworthy, a great communicator and went above and beyond caring for the animals and our house. We are so lucky to have found her and can’t wait to have her come again!”

“Devan was a great dog and house sitter while we were away. Our dog Reese seemed very happy and secure. They seemed to get along well Devan asked great questions which made us feel better about leaving our dog in the hands with someone new. Place looked great when we returned home. Devan was communicative and easy work with. I highly recommend.”

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Rithy! She is timely, communicative and treats your pet like they’re her own. This was my first time using Rover and I feel lucky to have found Rithy. She stayed with Clover for the weekend, texted me photos of their adventures, and she made homemade food for Clover! I think they both had a great weekend together.”

“Thank you Darla for doing such an awesome job with Evie, Boo and PJ! Even though Evie is still in mourning over the passing of Rudolph Valentino Jones, you took great care of her and she ate food for you, bonus round since she hasn't eaten a lot in the last week or so. Thank you for taking excellent care of them and my beautiful home.”

“There aren't enough words to express how thankful we are to have found Francesco. He was incredible with our dog Betty. He was very good about updates and really intuitive in his interactions with her. She's really slow to warm to people and was calm with him very quickly. Our home and Betty seem to be in better shape than when we left. We will be sure to recommend him to anyone in need and will be booking with him again in the near future. Thank you again, Paul and Krystal”

“She was exactly what we wanted! Hands on w our little guys. She took care of everything and was in constant contact. She sent lots of pictures and it seemed like our dogs missed her when we got home.”

“Kyle was awesome to have at my home and stay with our 3 little dogs. Jack Russel Poodle, Bischon Poodle and Havanese. It can be a handful getting them rounded up, taking them for 3 or 4 walks a day, putting them to bed a night. Kyle was a master and showed them the love and attention that they are accustomed to. We tried to provide him 5 star accommodations and he in turn was an immaculate house guest showing great care and respect for our home.”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, but I’ve had experience taking care of dogs on a dairy farm which got a little rowdy at times. I’m currently starting a job that will hopefully be full-time But might be a little shaky for a couple months so I’ll have a lot of free time to walk your dogs! I have a fenced yard and two dogs that are friendly for your puppy dog to play with. And if they just need a walk I will make sure that that puppy will have the best sleep after.
“Michelle is responsive, kind, showed up for everything on time and was flexible when I needed to rearrange. She took great care of Ziggy. I could tell how happy he was when I returned home. Everything was in order at the house and I will definitely use her again and highly recommend anyone else who wants a great conscientious Dog Sitter?.”

About: I grew up in a neighborhood my friends used to call “the farm”. We had 3 dogs, one neighbor had chickens, one neighbor had horses, and another neighbor had goats. Along with various dogs and cats at each house. Because I was the oldest kid in the neighborhood, I was the go-to person anytime a neighbor needed a house sitter or even just needed me to feed their pet dinner since they were out late. When I got older and started driving, I began dog sitting for our large group of friends, taking care of all sizes of dogs, cats, and the occasional reptile. Although I work part-time, I am generally available 7 days a week for house sitting. I am willing to accommodate crazy schedules and last minute plans if need be. I have a small home but a big yard, so while I can’t accommodate boarding, I have a large outdoor space and my own pup that is eager for play dates during the day. As for house sitting, I provide attentive, personalized care in my client’s home so your pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely. With my history in the animal health field, I am comfortable administering any medications if needed. As a person who values communication, I provide regular ‘pupdates’ and pictures so owners feel confident their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for.
“Isabella was so good to our dog while we were out of town over the weekend. She was respectful to the house and took good care of our dog and kept him good company throughout the days. We would definitely want to work with her again for future! Thanks again!”

“Christopher is a true dog lover and I feel fortunate to have found him to take care of my pack whenever I’m not around. I have a lot of attendant anxiety when trying to pair my dogs with a suitable sitter- for no other reason than that they need a lot of exercise and ask for a lot of attention. Christopher alleviated every ounce of attendant stress experienced by leaving my dogs in someone’s care. He took my dogs on outings, updated me with charming photos and was completely unflappable when it came to managing two high energy and young labs along with a corgi who needs to herd everyone to feel fulfilled. On top of all of this, Christopher took excellent care of my home- maybe even leaving it cleaner than I did for him. 5 stars for Christopher, absolutely!”

I am currently pretty open through the week and weekends. I work as a caregiver as well twice a week. I am looking for something to do with the extra time i have on my hands! I work as a caregiver as well twice a week I will make sure doors are closed at all times to ensure your dogs will not get out. I will be with pups at all time.
“I highly recommend Lauren for overnight pet care. She is reliable and great with my dogs. They lived all her attention and extra walks. She is communicative and her updates/pics are comforting to homesick pet owners!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,091 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hamlet. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hamlet walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hamlet maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hamlet choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hamlet. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
