âMaria was great with our babe! We came home to a happy healthy pup and the house was well cared for as well! She was great about communicating with me and sending me updates! Will totally use again!â

âThis was the first time that I used a service to find a sitter for my pup, Mayci. I was very concerned and frankly worried sick, that she would be miserable while I was gone for a week. She had been given to the Humane Society twice and understandably has separation anxiety. Well, I was so pleasantly surprised at how wonderful Jaime was. She did a meet and greet with us prior to booking and I had a very good feeling about her and became less worried about having to leave. Jaime arrived on time and was great with Mayci right off the bat. One of the guys at our shop picked up Mayci a couple of days as Mayci likes to go to the shop. He messaged me saying that Mayci loves Jaime. She even taught Mayci how to 'snuggle' more. Jaime sent pictures each day and I could see Mayci was happy. The fact that Jaime was a Vet Tech also made me feel secure. I highly recommend Jaime, she is fantastic!â

About: Please be sure to message me first for boarding. Meet and greets will be conducted for 1 hour alone. I need to see the behavior of the dog before I confirm boarding. I have taken care of many breeds of dogs and cats for 5+ years as well as different reptiles and 2 birds my whole life. Im currently going to school and have 2 dogs and 2 turtles who are my entire life. I love them so much and make them my priority. I am not afraid of the big dogs I have had several as well as mean cats đ. I will follow whatever rules you have for your animals and make sure they are taken care of the same way you would.

My boyfriendâs parents have two massive Great Danes, we walk them and take care of them all the time. I just have a huge heart for all of our four legged friends. Iâve never met a dog that didnât like me. Iâm extremely responsible and cautious while walking and playing. Iâm a bartender so most days Iâm free and would love to spend the off time walking and caring for animals. Exercise for both of us. I am extremely responsible and reliable. Always courteous and respectful. I would care for any animal as if it were my own, and treat them and my surroundings with the upmost respect.

About: Iâm currently a pet mom of 2 awesome pups and also have multiple grand pups and cats! I grew up on a farm raising every kind of animal imaginable and have continued my love for all animals throughout my adult life. One of my current pups is deaf so I have experience with special needs and my daughter works at the local vet which offers me extra perks as well. I absolutely love all animals (probably more than humansđ) and will take care of your babies like they are my own! I am self-employed and work from home so my schedule is super flexible. I can stay at your home for overnights or simply come visit your babies every couple of hours for walks, feeding and playtime. Depending on your pet (dog only), I can also bring them to my home for playtime with my pups. I am super attentive (maybe too attentive!) and very cautious when dealing with any animal. I understand they are your babies and safety is number one! If we visit my home, my dogs are super friendly sandbar dogs and I have a fenced yard for everyone to play.
About: Iâm a huge animal lover and the type of person who will absolutely stop to say hi to every dog I pass. I truly love caring for animals and making them feel safe, comfortable, loved, and right at home while their owners are away. Iâve been watching dogs and cats for years for friends, family, referrals, and people Iâve met along the way, and I genuinely enjoy every minute of it. Growing up, my family helped with dog rescues â and still do today â so caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. I love getting to know every petâs unique personality. I also have experience with longer-term care and have watched pets for entire summers (up to 3 months at a time), so I understand how important consistency, patience, and trust are when caring for someoneâs furry family member. My goal is always to make your pet feel like theyâre on their own little vacation while youâre away and make sure they are happy, loved, comfortable, and cared for. I know leaving your pet with someone is a big deal, and I pride myself on being reliable, communicative, and someone you can genuinely feel comfortable trusting with your pet. I would be so excited and grateful for the opportunity to meet you and your pet đśđą. I work from home remotely a lot and am able to take full care of your pets on the weekends and most weekdays. It is a hobby/job for me because I love animals so much! I treat everyoneâs pets like my own. Growing up, I had cats, dogs, horses, and every animal you could think of. I would love to have an animal now of my own, but I travel often!
About: Iâm patient, attentive, and genuinely treat every pet like my own! Iâm great with puppies; routine, training basics, and gentle structure. Iâm equally comfortable caring for seniors who need extra calm and comfort. I pay close attention to body language and behavior, so you can trust your pet is safe, understood, and truly cared for!! This isnât just a job to me; I love creating a happy, peaceful experience for every animal I meet! I am working part time, so I am flexible to fit the timing and needs of you and your pets! Weekdays are the best bet for me, weekends can be a little tricky! Whether your pet is in my home or Iâm in yours, I focus on creating a calm, clean, and comfortable environment! I follow your routines closely; feeding times, walks, potty breaks, cues, and any training youâre working on! Your pet will feel safe with me! In your home, I keep things tidy, respect your space, and make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, playtime, and snuggles of course! When it comes to sitting in my own home, I have a golden puppy, under a year; also a cat, so sitting in my clients home would be my best option!
About: I have many years of house and pet sitting experience, along with a genuine love for animals and a calm, dependable nature. I have over thirty 5-star reviews outside of Rover, so please inquire and I am happy to email them to you. I only provide overnight pet care in your home because it keeps your pet(s) happy in their environment. I take pride in caring for every home with respect and every pet with patience, affection, and attention to their individual routines. Senior pets hold a special place in my heart. I cared for my own beloved cat through his senior years, as well as my family's elderly dog. Over the past four years, I've also completed several house sits with senior pets, and I understand the extra patience, gentle care, and consistency they often need. My calm, quiet demeanor helps older pets feel comfortable and secure. As an empty nester, I enjoy a simple, flexible lifestyle that allows me to combine my love of travel with caring for pets around the world. Whether I'm staying in a quiet village or a busy city, I love exploring on foot, using local public transportation, and spending time near the water whenever I can. I bring a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, so you can feel confident that both your home and your pets are in capable hands while you're away. I work remotely, so reliable high-speed internet is important during my stays. My work is quiet and flexible, allowing me to spend plenty of quality time with your pets throughout the day. I look forward to meeting wonderful people, caring for their beloved pets, and creating another successful house-sitting experience for everyone involved. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work remotely with a flexible schedule. I'm home for most of the day, which allows me to provide plenty of companionship, walks, playtime, feedings, and cuddles while keeping pets on their normal routine. Whether it's a local visit or an extended house sit, I enjoy giving pets the attention and consistency they need so they feel comfortable and relaxed while their owners are away. I provide care exclusively in my clients' homes, where pets can remain comfortable in their familiar environment and maintain their normal routines. I offer drop-in visits, dog walks, and overnight or extended house sitting while pet parents are away. I believe pets are happiest and least stressed when they can stay in their own home surrounded by familiar sights, smells, and routines. I care for each home with the same respect I would my ownâkeeping it clean, organized, and secureâwhile giving every pet plenty of affection, exercise, playtime, and companionship based on their individual needs.
âShe was absolutely amazing! From start to finish, she went above and beyond in caring for Sandy as if she were her own. She made sure Sandy got plenty of walks, playtime, and attention, and it was so clear that she genuinely cared about her happiness and well-being. Her daily updates were thoughtful and detailed, always including the sweetest pictures that instantly put my mind at ease. I could tell Sandy felt completely comfortable and loved, which meant the world to me. What truly stood out was her attention to detail and kindness; she didnât just care for Sandy, she also took the time to leave the house exactly as I left it, which was such a thoughtful touch and really showed her professionalism and respect. Itâs rare to find someone who combines reliability, warmth, and genuine compassion so effortlessly. Iâm beyond grateful for the care and love she showed us. It gave me such peace of mind knowing she was in the best hands possible. I would recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat and will absolutely be booking with her again â sheâs truly one of a kind!â

About: I love animals. I grew up with cats and have had both cats and dogs in adulthood. I am experienced with many training styles including clicker training and positive reinforcement techniques. I work from home and get out for walks three times a dayâ hanging with your dog is a bonus! I also have total flexibility and can visit as much as needed. I have a safe environment and am present at almost all times. I will keep your dogs with me, and check in as often as you like.
âAlicia connected extremely well with our dog and took great care of him while we left town for the weekend. She was able to administer medicine successfully. She also communicated with us throughout the weekend, sending pictures and updates of how much fun they were having. She stayed the weekend to give our elderly dog extra support and took great care of the house by cleaning up after herself. We are thankful that we met and found someone who is respectful and cares so much for our dog.â
âIâm very pleased with Ms.Natalie and the care she provided for my pets. She is ethical with great communication and is very knowledgeable. I definitely recommend her for anyone that wants excellent quality care for their pets and home. My pets love her and her fur babies. We hope to see her back again soon!â

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Marathon on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 39 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Marathon. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Marathon walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Marathon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Marathon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
