“I’ve been booking with Kim the past 3 years and I can never be happier knowing my little Hazel is in a great and safe place. I love how Kim treats Hazel like shes her own. Whether Hazel is with Kim for 1 day or 10 days Kim is always in constant communication with me and send me pictures and I love that. I’m truly blessed that I found someone that I can trust with my Hazel.”

“Pissamas has provided wonderful care to our dog, Buddy while we were on vacation overseas for almost 2 weeks. He is an older rescue dog who sometimes had some bad habits. Pissamas retrained Buddy to be part of her small dog team for walks, eating, and play. She showed patience yet was firm with our dog. She gave him attention, exercise, and encouraged social interaction with her other dogs. We were very pleased with the pictures and videos we received even though we did not always have good internet access. I would not hesitate to recommend Pissamas to anyone owning a small dog who needs care and stimulation. Richard S”

“Dipanjana was absolutely amazing with Rascal! I felt completely comfortable knowing he was in such good hands while I was away. She kept me updated and sent photos of Rascal, which I really appreciated. She was caring, dependable, and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend her and would definitely book with her again!”

“Sepia was very kind and generous to Bruno. She took great care of him and pampered him. She gave regular updates via messages, photos and videos. We were very happy with her and would highly recommend. Thanks Sepia!”

“This was the 2nd time Bella stayed with Lyudmila and she loved it! She’s actually a little depressed after leaving her home! Highly recommend Lyudmila’s services we are so fortunate we found a great sitter for Bella. Until next time!!”

“Son and her family took great care of my 14 yr old dog Willow! I was able to relax during Thanksgiving knowing Willow was surrounded with company and cozy home. She came back much happier and relaxed compared to my last Rover experience with a different sitter. Willow didn’t want to leave when I picked her up, that’s how much she enjoyed her stay with Son.”

“Brian and his family has been great host to my pet. They took good care of him and kept me in loop on his daily progress. They managed his food diet and medication as requested. I highly recommend them and will use them in future too. A++”

About: Hi, I’m Maria! I believe that pets aren't just animals—they are cherished members of the family. When your pet stays with me, they receive the exact same level of deep compassion, endless cuddles, and focused attention that I give to my own. I am experienced with dogs, birds, and rabbits. I share my home with a wonderfully chatty, smaller-sized Siberian Husky named Fuschia. She loves to "talk," but she is trained, incredibly friendly, gentle, and absolutely adores playing with new furry friends. Other than being a chatty Cathy, Fuschia is the anti-husky- preferring to sleep and chill than having high energy. Whether your dog wants a playmate or just a buddy to lounge near, my husky is an excellent, welcoming host. I work from home full-time with a flexible schedule, meaning your pet will rarely be alone and will receive frequent potty breaks, supervised playtime, and all the affection they can handle. ------------------------------ 🩺 Experience & Special Skills I'm a lifelong pet lover who has owned or taken care of pets since childhood. I've owned tiny dogs (chihuhuas and terrier mixes), a large wild dog that needed extensive training (a wolf-husky hybrid), birds, a rabbit, and have helped friends take care of their exotic animals (snakes and lizards). I’ve been dog sitting for approximately ten (10) years. I have enjoyed sitting small dogs to giant doodles (who believe they are small lap dogs) as well as elderly and special needs dogs. I’m a true animal lover and offer comprehensive care tailored to your pet's specific life stage and health requirements: * From Puppies to Seniors: I understand the patience and frequent training breaks required for tiny puppies, as well as the gentle pacing, orthopedic comfort, and slow walks needed for elderly dogs. * Medical & Sick Dog Care: If your dog requires special medical attention, you can rest easy. I am highly experienced in administering oral and topical medications, managing strict dosing schedules, feeding according to strict dietary needs, and providing a calm, stress-free environment for dogs. * Small Animal Expertise (Birds & Rabbits): I don’t just care for dogs! As a prior bird and rabbit owner, I am fully experienced in handling, feeding, cage or pen cleaning, and understanding the unique requirements of rabbits and birds. ------------------------------ 🏡 My Home & Safety Setup Your pet’s safety and peace of mind are my absolute top priorities. * Dog Play Areas: Dogs have plenty of room to stretch their legs, curl up on a couch, and run around and play inside the house and in my secure fenced in yard. When they play with my husky they will be always be supervised. *Sleeping: When it’s time to sleep your dog will sleep in a crate inside the house to ensure they are safe and secure while they are resting. * Sanitation & Routines: I’ll adhere to your feeding schedules. I’ll take your dog for a walk and can bathe them if requested. ** Separate, Stress-Free Zone for small animal friends: To ensure a calm and secure environment, all guest birds and rabbits are kept in a completely separate room away from any dogs in the house. They will enjoy a quiet, predator-free space where they can feel safe and be nurtured. During the week, I work from home and have a flexible shift that ends in the early afternoons. On weekends, I'm home, and your fur baby will get plenty of walks and playtime. I live in a gated community in Morgan Hill and have a securely fenced yard for your dog to run and play. I keep the dogs in the house when I'm working, and there are plenty of couches for the dogs to curl up on and nap. At night, the dogs sleep in a crate inside the house. I'd prefer to use your crate to make your dog feel more at home, but I have a small and large crate available for dogs that don't have one. Small Animals (birds and rabbits) are kept in a separate room the entire stay. They will not have any interaction with any dog in the house.
“I was lucky to find Michelle and Michael. My dog is young golden retriever with high energy. Michelle and Michael gave my dog plenty of cuddles and attention. They gave my dog long walk and played fetch with him. Michelle sent me updates frequently that helped relieve my separation anxiety. I couldn't be happier to have my dog stay with Michelle and Michael, who are really nice and caring people.”

“Juliana was awesome. I would definately not hesitate to have you watch over your 4 legged friends. Our dog was nervious at first but by the second day she had max happy go lucky. Will definately reach out for future bookings when they come up.”

“Stasha & her boyfriend were wonderful! It was our first time boarding our pup and I was very nervous. She kept us updated throughout the day, and communication was great. She would send pictures as well! We will definitely book with her again.”

“Jen and her family were very kind and sweet enough to watch my two cats over the weekend. I appreciate their patience with them as they get a little shy and skiddish meeting new people or being in a new place. She sent me updates and photos of the two of them. Opie (my boy) definitely was more of the explorer and curious one around the house. Mew (my girl) was far more shy, so I appreciate Jen and her family giving her space to feel comfortable. She had a designated room for them but also allowed them to explore the house which they do love to be able to climb around. I would definitely come back to have them watch the cats! Thank you to all of you!”

“Lyan was a great sitter for my little guy! I contacted her super last minute when my plans changed and she graciously took him in. I could tell my boy was well taken care of :) 10/10 would recommend”
“Where do I start? From the first contact Anusha has been honest, respectful and so responsible in taking care of my dog. Asked all the right questions and answered them all. Always quickly responded. Gave my dog all the love and attention that I wasn’t able to. Cared for my dog as if it was hers. Gave (almost) hourly updates. HIGHLY recommended!”

“Dexter had a great time at Jade’s house! Jade and her family took care of him so well and gave him lots of love. She took him hiking as well as on a walk to see Christmas lights and she sent me lots of videos and pictures. We could enjoy our vacation without worrying about him at all. I also liked that she responded to all my text fast. Thanks Jade! Dex is already waiting for the next vacation 😊”

“Socha obviously had a great time playing with her new friends. She came home so relaxed, she fell asleep on the sofa within 15 minutes of getting home. That is not her usual m.o. She didn't demand attention or "cling" to me. Michelle and Nish took great care of Socha, and I very much appreciate the daily updates and videos Michelle sent. My husband and I especially loved seeing Socha play with their dogs. The fact that she ate every meal is proof to us Socha was comfortable and well cared for in Michelle's home. We will definitely enlist her services again.”

“Olga and Boris took such great care of my dog while I was away. I honestly can’t find enough words to thank them for how well they cared for him. It was clear that they followed all the instructions I gave them, and my dog looked so happy, comfortable, and well taken care of when I picked him up. You could also tell that he really grew attached to them, and that they grew attached to him as well. That truly says a lot about what wonderful and caring people they are. I’m so grateful I found them, and I would absolutely use their services again. They did an amazing job, and I highly recommend Olga and Boris!”

“Debra did a great job of making us and our dog, Skye, feel welcome. She sent us daily updates with pictures of Skye with her family or out taking walks. She was a last minute provider for us as our usual care person was not available for the dates we needed. She only keeps one guest dog at a time. Skye and her dog, Ginger, got along well.”

“My husky, Koda, had a fantastic time with Valentina & Stephen and their dog Luke. He ran and played in their gigantic, beautiful yard, got lots of attention and cuddles and was taken to the park and restaurants with them. They took excellent care of Koda I can't recommend Val and Stephen more highly. I've already booked another stay for Koda!”

Dipanjana was absolutely amazing with Rascal! I felt completely comfortable knowing he was in such good hands while I was away. She kept me updated and sent photos of Rascal, which I really appreciated. She was caring, dependable, and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend her and would definitely book with her again!

Rikiya was absolutely amazing with Simba. This was Simba's second stay with her, and once again, he felt completely at home. He was so happy, comfortable, and well cared for, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Rikiya also has two wonderful dogs that Simba absolutely loves! It makes his stay even more special because he gets to enjoy their company, play with them, and truly feel like he's part of the family. Rikiya went above and beyond to care for Simba, and I especially loved receiving all the pictures and updates. It was so reassuring to see how happy he was every day. You can truly tell how much she loves and cares for the dogs she looks after. We are so grateful to Rikiya for taking such wonderful care of our Simba. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, loving, and caring for their fur baby. Simba will definitely be staying with him again. Thank you so much 🙏

My fur baby always has the best time at Chad’s! The moment we arrive, he’s so excited he doesn’t even linger to say goodbye to me 😄 Chad regularly shares photos, which gives us so much peace of mind while we’re away. He’s also incredibly accommodating with dietary needs and schedule changes, which makes everything so much easier. Thank you, Chad, for making our travels stress-free and for taking such great care of Rico. It truly means a lot! 🐾

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Madrone home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Madrone.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Madrone sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
