Christy was fantastic! From the multiple pictures, to a play by play of exactly how the kitties were doing, we were very impressed. It's obvious that Christy loves animals and takes her job seriously.

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was 6. My childhood and the raising of my own family has included many beloved dogs. I have volunteered in animal shelters for over 30 years, and was a Shelter Humane Educator and Volunteer Coordinator. I love all breeds, and enjoy and and am experienced in feeding, walking, cleaning the yard, and administering medications. I am currently semi-retired and am available for walks and drop-ins most days with the exception of Thursdays, when I keep my grand-daughter. Pets enrich my life. I make sure pets are fed, exercised, safe, and comfortable. I follow a routine or the owner's instructions carefully. I keep the home clean and give pets attention and companionship.

About: I've got multiple years of experience handling a highly anxious dog that can be dog selective during high stress situations. I was the one primarily training my family's two dogs, as well as the one taking them out on as many walks as I was able. I have multiple years worth of experience with senior dogs that had arthritis and who needed to have their food prepped especially for easier eating. I'm currently a student at the University of Georgia and currently looking into part time summer positions, however my schedule is very flexible with daily check-ins and overnight stays during both the week and weekend are very doable. During check-ins, outside of ensuring food and water are available, I would make sure to spend time playing and hanging out with any dog and if I have time to take them on a walk I will. For overnights, I would do the same thing with the only difference being the amount of time I'd be able to spend with the dog.

About: Relaxed, in-home care for your four legged friend! I have worked in the veterinary field for over 15 years working with a variety of breeds and personalities. Iam competent in administering medications, watching for sicknesses, and dealing with senior pets. I am also a human EMT meaning I work well under stressful circumstances and can process.and thinking clearly in those situations. Your friends are in good hands when in my care. I am currently a homeschool Mom of 2 sweet girls. I have ample time during the day for walks, drop ins, play time, etc. My priority is easing your burden. Beverly was amazing! She went above and beyond, not only taking care of everything we asked, but also bringing in our packages, emptying the litter genie, cleaning up after our cats, and even rinsing out the empty wet food cans so they wouldn’t smell (which was very thoughtful since I’m pregnant). 20/10, I would recommend Beverly to anyone! We’ll definitely be reaching out to her again for our next trip. Thank you so much again, Beverly!

About: I’ve cared for a wide variety of animals over the years, including dogs and cats. Having grown up around animals myself, I understand how difficult it can be for pets when their owners are away. My goal is to make sure they feel loved, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re on vacation, and I’ll give them plenty of attention, affection, and care until you return. I am currently a college kid home for the summer. With that being said I have a completely open schedule right now until I head back in the fall! I care for every pet as if they were my own. I make sure they stay on their normal routine, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and any medications if needed. I also provide plenty of attention, affection, and exercise based on each pet’s individual needs and personality. In a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all care instructions to help pets feel comfortable and stress-free while their family is away. I always send updates and photos so owners can have peace of mind knowing their pets are happy and well cared for.

About: I have hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, ducks, geese, chickens, and roosters. About: I am an experienced dog owner and sitter. I grew up in a family that always had pets, including cats and dogs, and have owned multiple dogs since living on my own. Currently, I have one small chiweenie and regular dogsit dogs including Cocker Spaniels, Golden Retrievers, and Great Pyrenees. Shy or nervous rescue pets are no problem! I can handle any dog big or small, high energy, timid, low energy, giant breeds, counter surfers, etc. Pets with medical issues are welcome as I have experience taking care of dogs and cats with a variety of issues who’ve needed everything from shots throughout the day or diaper changes or to receive mobility assistance. I also have experience caring for chickens if you need someone to care for your chicks. I work full-time from 8 AM-5 PM. I have a long lunch, so I can stop by to take care of any needs during the day. Drop off/pickup prior to or after work is preferred, except on the weekends when I’m free. If you really need a specific drop off or pickup time, please let me know early so I can try to accommodate that. I am up early every morning to give pets plenty of time to eat and play before leaving. When I get home, the first thing I do is let pets out to potty and to play. Throughout the evening, there is plenty of time for walks and playtime before bed. . First and foremost, I will strive to match or mimic the care and routine you give your pets at home. With a fenced in yard, your pet will have a safe place to potty and play. There are also many parks nearby to take your pet on walks or provide them with socialization. Pets are able to climb on furniture, sleep on my bed, and have mostly free rein of the house — my home is their home while we’re here. However, I have a pet gate I can put up and experience crating pets (as well as crate training dogs) for any pet who can’t be left free to roam.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Madison. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
