“Best EVER! Nikki sends such fun pictures and videos, and is so understanding when our schedule is weird (or last-minute!) We can't even say the names "Tom and Nikki" at home, because our pup will run and wait in the car!”

About: Neighbors, friends and family continue to entrust me with their pets of all ages! My pup has hiked to high heights with me, but I’ve also loved many in their final, precious days. Wherever your loved one is, I’ll be sure to care for your fur babe like you would! I am a mom of one that works full time for a University from home. Monday through Friday I work from 8-5 with two 15 minute breaks and a lunch break of at least one hour. I am a triathlete that is often up at 5 AM training. Then, I go on a walk every day on my lunch and often again when I log off for the day. I’d love for your fur babe to tag along! I have two fenced in yards full of sun and plenty of shade. I have a 40 pound doodle that can keep them company and give them plenty of exercise if needed, but I can also keep them separated if that is preferred. I have fresh well water and a walking trail around our property. I can also crate your dog or offer them a bed if they need. Otherwise, your loved one will roam free with lots of play time and cuddles. Whatever your fur babe needs, I’m here to serve you!
“Michelle and her husband greeted and welcomed Moses to their home so sweetly! This was the first time I had ever left Moses with someone he did not know and they made it easy!! Michelle’s husband even picked Moses up and cradled him as I left. She has been great with Moses and his adjustment to her home and care and has also been very kind to me with updates and pics!! We will return as long as she will let us!!”

About: As far back as I can remember I’ve owned or cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, hamsters you name it and I’ve probably cared for it. I love dogs the most and currently own three. Training them, caring for them, playing with them are my passions. I can bathe, trim nails, give medications, train them, walk them properly, and integrate them into packs when requested. I work from home M-F and have flexibility with my hours. I like to travel and I know the cost of putting my dogs up in boarding or day care facilities. We've decided to reduce our travel for now to save up money. I am happy to help out where needed. Please don't hesitate to ask questions. We have a fenced in yard the dogs can run and play in. We also have 2 large dog crates and one small dog crate we keep in case the dogs want/need to be isolated. When we are home our dogs are able to play inside and outside. We have parks close by and take our dogs on walks 2-3 times a day. Your pet would either walk with them or separately depending on his/her ability. We play fetch, we do commands, we can run them or play in water if it’s hot. We love dog parks and shaded walking trails as well. Dogs have the ability to stay inside or outside at our home.. I work from home and can watch them inside while I work. I let them play outside several times a day as wells. Dogs have the ability to stay inside or outside at our home. We have dog beds for them to lie on. We have a big yard and a pool.

“Xionella did a great job caring for our 2 dogs during the day while my wife was out of town. Our dogs were walked multiple times a day and got along perfectly with Xionella’s 2 dogs. We were sent pictures throughout the day and notified of anything of concern. I would highly recommend Xionella and will use her in the future.”

“Gingi was quick to respond, and my pup Pi loved his time playing with her and her dog Twink! She sent us lots of photo updates showing how much fun Pi was having which helped me relax while I was out of town.”

“Winston had a wonderful day with his new friends James, his wife De and their dogs Charlee and Chloe. James did everything we could ask for and more to make Winston's stay a success. We received lots of photos throughout the day showing all the fun Winston was having. That allowed my wife and I to enjoy our day together knowing Winston was being well cared for. This was the first time we used Rover.com and it was a great experience. We will definitely be booking with James again.”

“Annette was great! Chevie, who’s normally wary of other dogs, immediately started playing with her dog and settled in well! I appreciated all the outdoor/dog park time Chevie got. She was tired and relaxed when we got home!”

“Marlina was fantastic, was super sweet and accommodating for our shy puppy, especially with our dog’s needs for pee pads. She was very gentle and considerate in introducing her dogs to Luna one at a time so everyone could get acquainted smoothly and successfully! We loved the pictures taken throughout the day! Luna had a wonderful time during her play date with Marlina and her dogs!”

I currently work full-time at Oconee Veterinary Hospital and have several years of experience in both veterinary and pet care settings. About: I have always had a soft spot in my heart for dogs. I have carried this love into adulthood and I enjoy having them in my life. When your four-legged family member is with us they will be treated as one of the family. They will be doted upon and they will be constantly engaged, touched, and talked to. We go for walks in our 1-acre fenced backyard, which facilitates safe rewarding exploration and discovery. We allow the visitors to play and interact with our loving and friendly standard poodles who are great role models to each other and to visiting pooches. Even though your baby will be on their doggie Vaca, We will still use every opportunity to encourage learning, good manners, and good behavior by giving treats and positive reinforcement throughout the day. Stability, engagement, routine, and structure makes a happy dog and we aim to make sure that every four-legged friend who lodges with us, is happy and never wants to leave. Our resident babies eat twice per day and are allowed out for potty breaks three times per day. If it is a rainy day we do indoor activities in our 35x40 temperature controlled dog suite and we even watch a little "Dog TV" We have a great time, rain or shine! Sleeping arrangements will depend on what your baby is comfortable with but we do not allow our pets on the furniture or in our beds (at least when daddy is around). We have kennels but we allow the dogs to sleep anywhere they want to in the dog suite. I am a retired nurse and I am always home so I have plenty of time to dedicate to caring for dogs in my day. We have a huge fenced in backyard where all the dogs enjoy their time outdoors. We also have plenty of equipment in the yard for their enjoyment.
“Angela is very responsive, sends plenty of updates during your dog's stay, and made our pup feel right at home! Plus she has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things canine. She was even able to accommodate a *very* last minute schedule change with no issues. I would absolutely recommend her for any of your doggy related needs!”

About: I don't have any professional experience, but I've grown up in a family that has housed a lot of dogs and cats since I was born. We've had 4 dogs and 7 cats from my early childhood until today, so while I did obviously have the rest of my family to assist with them, I've still had firsthand experience with a lot of different behaviors and habits of these pets and how certain traits or preferences vary between them. I finished college at UGA recently, so I'm currently at home full-time. Pet care would be pretty easy to fit into my weekly schedule. I always try to make sure I feed my cat her treats once a day around the same time, so consistent feeding and cleaning wouldn't be that much harder with additional pets. I am gone some evenings on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, but other than that my time is fully open to help your pets stay relaxed, happy, and healthy. My backyard has a fence, but it's currently old and unrepaired, so the gates cannot close properly, so any pets prone to running will be staying inside or on a leash. My house is very small, but my front and backyard are very spacious, ideal for pets that are uncomfortable in small spaces. My cat can be skittish around other animals, so I will need to keep her in a separate space from them, but my family's done that with many of our cats, so it will not be a problem for the client or their pets. My roommate stays inside most of the time, so but he's also very friendly and should not pose any issues for the pets.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 190 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Madison. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Madison commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in GA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 190 sitters in Madison, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
