“This trip would not have been peaceful without Heather. Our cats are our babies, and both have special needs. Heather was absolutely phenomenal—caring, attentive, and loving every step of the way. Thank you for taking care of our girls as if they were your own. We are beyond grateful and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone.”
“Krista was the best!! Thorough updates every visit and I could tell she spent the entire 30 minutes with our babies. We will be booking her again for future weekends away!!”

“Chloe did a great job with our ducks! They were happy and healthy when we got back. She went above and beyond when it ended up being colder than expected. I appreciate all the pictures she sent and the care that she gave them. We would book with her again!”

“Mia was great! We had two dogs to juggle and one that is a little tough for us and that had us worried. But she handled things with ease and provided us with updates. We will definitely be using her again!”

About: I’m Alex and I currently have one pitbull so I am A 24/7 dog mom! I love hiking and being out in nature. I have a high energy personality that is perfect for wearing any pup out. Growing up my parents owned dogs of all sizes and personalities (Dalmatian, Akitas, border collie, and jack russel) I love the Lower Allen dog park and would gladly take any dogs there with permission! My previous rescue pit had an abusive past which sadly caused some behavioral issues. Due to that I am more than comfortable watching any dogs that may be a little rough around the edges. I have no problem giving any daily medication needed. I’m just a fun loving dog owner who would love to give your dog wonderful care and attention! I am a stay at home mom so my days are pretty open. I also have access to flexible free child care through grandparents so I don’t have to have my child with me during any dog visits or stays. This allows me to be able to work with your needs! I’m available for caring overnight in your home where your pup is most comfortable! Lots of attention and if they’re allowed in the bed or on the couch they’ll be right there next to me. I am not currently available to be hosting animals at my own home.
“Tori was great to work with. I was up in Pennsylvania house sitting for my mom, but had to drive to Virginia 2 nights and come back the same nights. She helped out tremendously by letting Chloe and Delilah out and loving on them while I was gone. I'm definitely gonna recommend her to my mom as well. I cant even give enough thanks for how much she helped and took the stress off of me having to leave the pups for 8 hours.”

“Shae was fantastic with Marisa and Shandy. They took to her immediately. I also appreciated her immediate response to our request. I won’t hesitate to use her services in the future.”

About: Being around animals just brightens my day! I was a groomer for 2 years before becoming a mom full time. I have experience with dogs ranging from little baby doggies to the giants of giants and I love them all. I ABSOLUTELY will take pictures of your furbaby so fully expect picture updates along the way. I have experience with diabetes in dogs so I’m good with giving insulin injections as well as taking blood for blood sugar checks. I’ve dog sat for friends/family/neighbors and my priority is to always treat every pup as my own. I have 8 years experience house sitting/checking in/dog walking for others and 11 years personal experience. I’m a stay at home mom so I have plenty of time to hangout with your fur babies! My morning availability starts at 8:30am. When doing check ins or house sitting I like to follow any requests/routines you the pet parent already have in place for your fur babies day to day.
“Kitty crew all loved her. My oldest cat is normally my judge of good babysitters because of her skittish nature. Natalie had her out of hiding and playing on the first visit. Mira doesn't even come out of hiding for my family (and she used to live with them).”

About: Hello! I have many years of pet experience and am an avid animal lover. I love the outdoors so taking pets to parks and giving them a loving, home away from home is my personal mission. I am a prior army veteran with 2 active and rambunctious sons and a lovely daughter. I also teach microbiology and Zumba part time. Myself and my family will all make it possible for your pet to have fun and feel safe with us. I have no breed preferences as each animal has its own personality and will do my best to accommodate any animals in need of assistance. I look forward to serving you and meeting your furry family member. Please contact me with any special needs and I will do my best to accommodate them. Best Regards, Keisha I currently telework Monday, Wed, Thursday and Friday. I drive to work on Tuesdays and I love animals. We have a loving family and would love to welcome you to our home. I have a large field for a play area and can crate my animal or yours upon request. My dog does get along with other animals with no issues.
“Alicia went above and beyond for us. She took care of all of our critters - even the non traditional ones. She was always on time, sent lots of pics and was great to work with. I'd definitely book her again for our next trip. :)”

“Kylee went above and beyond in ensuring Kemba was taken care of during my time away from Home! She’s prompt, kind and fulfills all expectations of a Rover to the fullest! Recommended as an excellent choice for your pet!”

“This was our first time using Rover and Leilani & Jessie to watch Minnie. We did an overnight. Communication was excellent, including photos. Minnie will need more time to warm up to sitter but that will come with more experiences. Look forward to more opportunities to use Leilani & Jessie.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Mackey Ford
Mia was an excellent sitter for our cats while we were away. She was prompt when responding to our booking requests and was easy to talk to during the meet and greet. Her notes after the visits were detailed and gave us comfort knowing everyone was doing well. She even took the time to play with the cats and give them each some attention during her short visits. Thank you Mia!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mackey Ford. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
