“Stephanie was quick to respond, communicative, gracious, trustworthy, and most of all - my cat liked Stephanie and clearly felt comfortable. No issues whatsoever, Stephanie made this an easy process and took great care of my girl. Would book with Stephanie again.”

“Chloe did a great job with our ducks! They were happy and healthy when we got back. She went above and beyond when it ended up being colder than expected. I appreciate all the pictures she sent and the care that she gave them. We would book with her again!”
“Carley is amazing! She goes above and beyond every time caring for my cats, bringing in the mail, and watering plants. I feel completely at ease knowing my home and pets are in such great hands. Highly recommend her!”

“Mia was great! We had two dogs to juggle and one that is a little tough for us and that had us worried. But she handled things with ease and provided us with updates. We will definitely be using her again!”

“Cynthia is absolutely wonderful with my cat! She also went out of her way to accommodate my request with very short notice. I can not give her enough praise to do her justice, but I can without a doubt recommend her to anyone looking for quality pet care!”

“Elise is seriously the best of the best. I’ve been using her as a sitter since 2024. There have been a few occasions that I have had to send a last minute request and she is always accommodating”

About: Hi, I'm Kiran! With over a decade of experience caring for my three dogs and various pets like birds and bunnies, I truly love animals. Your pets will be in great hands with me! I am currently a student at Wilmington University and am available anytime after 11 a.m. due to lacrosse practice. Also I am available for house sitting overnight Since I have pets of my own. I only offer services at client homes. But I have lots of experience and will spend time throughout the day with your pet playing with them, feeding them and giving them water.
“Kitty crew all loved her. My oldest cat is normally my judge of good babysitters because of her skittish nature. Natalie had her out of hiding and playing on the first visit. Mira doesn't even come out of hiding for my family (and she used to live with them).”

“Krista was the best!! Thorough updates every visit and I could tell she spent the entire 30 minutes with our babies. We will be booking her again for future weekends away!!”

“We were very happy with Ronny, he took great care of our dog Daisy who is a bit hyper at times. She usually doesn't do well with strangers but took to him almost immediately. In addition to that he communicated with us frequently and sent pictures from all his visits with her.”

“Kathleen was great with my cats! She kept in contact with me and sent me pictures of them everyday. I was worried my one cat would not make an appearance while she was there, but he came up to her every visit. He even let her hold him. I would hire her again in an instant.”

About: I was a professional dog trainer for 8+ years. I also worked at a professional boarding kennel during that time. Now I compete in a variety of dog shows, sport competitions, and have done national commercial work with my dogs. I have worked with and taken care of dogs from newborn to geriatric. Currently I am not taking on any training clients. You can trust your pets stay will be safe and secure with someone who knows how to read even the most subtle body language cues. All dogs must be currently on a flea and tick preventative for in house care. My availability does become more limited in the spring and summer due to competitions. My availability may be more than what’s listed here, please message me to discuss your dates! I work from home 3 days a week which allows me to keep dogs out of crates and play inside or outside in the fenced yard, as well as a 25 minute walk for lunch. I have a fully fenced yard and my own dogs to keep pet sits busy playing! I always have frozen filled kongs or other puzzles for dogs to do for “quiet time” each dog is crated individually for any longer lasting treat.
About: Experienced husky owner, so lots of fur and energy is not a problem for me. Have had a variety of breeds over the years and love pets of all shapes and sizes. Love caring for and playing with fur babies. One of my huskies was a rescue with severe anxiety around humans, but is wonderful around other animals, so I am good at working with different types of personalities. Our dogs get let out every 2 to 3 hours to potty and run around the yard. We typically feed our dogs in the morning after they have been let out. Then we let them roam the house and play until the end of the day, when they are put into their kennels at night. During the week, our dogs are in the kennel while I am away. Dogs are free to roam my home; ours are kenneled when away for their safety, as they tend to get into things. I have a fenced in yard and two dogs for your dog to play with. I am a rescue mom. I had one fur baby that has very high anxiety around humans and took a lot of patience and support to get him to open up, so I have experience with skittish dogs as well. My schedule allows for plenty of time to visit and enjoy time with your animals.

“This was my first time since moving and having my cat alone so I was nervous to hire someone to check in on her. Tai was communicative, caring, friendly and sweet! She closely followed the instructions I left. I am so grateful for the last minute drop-in visit. I will definitely reach out again and would recommend her for anyone’s pet!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dover. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
