“Kris was great! Her dogs are super sweet. She has a lot of space for them to run around and play. She took my dog on a walk too! Will definitely come back for more doggy daycare in the near future. Thanks again, Kris!”

“Holly and her family took such great care of our dog, Dottie. I couldn't be happier with the process - from the first message to the meet & greet to the doggy day care date. Communication was clear and easy, and I felt that safety and care were well prioritized. Having that reassurance that your dog is in good hands is honestly priceless. The fact she had a great time with Archie is the cherry on top. Dottie is already passed out sleeping (on the couch - sorry!) from all the fun she had. Will definitely book again. Also thank you for all the photos during the visit! They were very comforting for this anxious dog mom.”

“My dog had a wonderful time with Addison! He was friendly and communicative during pickup, drop off, and during care. When I picked up I could tell Puck had a wonderful time and Addison shared fun stories about his day. I'm planning to use him as a regular sitter for my pup!”

“200% Thank you Tanya. Tanya did a superb job with my nervous dog. First time away since her adoption 18 months ago and things worked out very, very well. Nice updates throughout the day, which relieved my anxiety. Tanya’s gentle demeanor was very helpful with my dog. I think Jenna enjoyed her change of scenery and to be around Tanya. She slept a lot when she came home. Thank you again. 🤗”

“I had a fantastic experience with Alex as Rune’s dog sitter. Rune had a great time playing with her dogs, and she has a lovely space that’s perfect for hosting. Alex was extremely responsive, communicative, and took great photos throughout. Overall, I felt very reassured and happy having Rune stay with her.”

“Another fun day for LucytheDog with Amy and Alexis! They are two of her favorite people and she always comes home “happy tired.” Appreciate their communication, support and drop off/pick up services. So easy!”

“Yvonne was amazing with my girl and she was very kind with communication as well as sending pictures. We felt very lucky to have her as our sitter on such short notice today. Definitely will be coming back”

About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was a kid, and to this day, I'm the go-to pet sitter in my family. I have a small dog who’s 4 years old and is very friendly with other dogs, cats, kids, and more. I’ve had him since he was a puppy and personally potty trained him, so I have plenty of experience with puppies. While I haven’t personally cared for a senior dog yet I have lots of free time and am confident I can give any senior dog with the care he or she needs. I'm currently doing some online classes, and I'm unemployed because I'm new to the Bellingham area so I have a bunch of free time to spend with your dogs. I live in an apartment so | don't have a yard for your pup to play in but I'll take your dog on walks very often and I personally take my dog to the dog park very regularly and would love to take yours too if you'd like.
“My pup has the best day with Jennifer at her lovely home. He got to play with her dogs, zoom in her huge back yard, and had a wonderful time. Jennifer sent us great pics of him having a blast while he was there. All around great experience for us and we hope our pup gets to come play for the day again soon!”

About: Training my two aussie shepherd girls is a passion of mine, we herd sheep a couple times a week. I am proud to say I can keep up with them, although raising an aussie puppy is not for the faint of heart! They deserve adventures so I take them to new places with new smells and I would be happy to help your pup experience the world in a new way too! If you're not comfortable with that, they are safe in my home too 💚 Pet care is a full-time job and I treat it as such. Fur babies in my home get enrichment via toys, puzzles, treats and exercise- happy to train your doggo under 90lbs to use our treadmill! We go out to herd a few times a week and get outdoors every day, rain or shine :) My pets are my family. They deserve to be safe, healthy, and comfortable. I understand that it is a deep honor to afford them the freedom and attention they deserve and I dont take the responsibility lightly.

About: I grew up with dogs and cats, and have been a pet parent throughout adulthood. I have a deep love and affection for animals, and often look after the pets of family and friends as their trusted caretaker. I call myself a "whisperer" because I feel I've always known how to 'communicate' with domesticated animals and earn their trust. I'm an adjunct instructor at WWU with enough flexibility in my schedule to be available for pet care most of the time. As I considered alternative work for myself, I thought I should consider what I love to do, and pet sitting/dog walking feels like a great fit for me. I currently have a 2 year old female rescue dog who I'm 90% sure is a puggle, and 2 beautiful male cats. Traditionally I've owned boxers, but I love both big and small dogs of all kinds, puppies to seniors, as well as cats and most other pets (perhaps not insects...!). I'm reliable, friendly, patient, and love to walk, so frequent or long dog walks suit me fine. I have a flexible schedule and am available to look after your fur babies day and/or night, including day care, drop ins, boarding and house sitting. I have a pet-friendly home with a fenced yard in a safe neighborhood with parks and trails close by. I'm home much of the time so my pets get a lot of attention and care, are fed on schedule, and I'm up to date on all vaccinations. My home is clean, cozy and safe.
“Nick & Rebecca are very sweet and caring. They took in Clementine on a very last minute request and she had a great and relaxing time with them in their beautiful home. She had a good time with their doggo too ☺️ Thank you! We hope to see you again!”

“Avielle was easy to communicate with and her dog Toby is super friendly and immediately went into play mode with Sprocket. She kept me updated with pictures and text throughout the day and when we picked up Sprocket we was all tuckered out from playing all day. Thanks Avielle, would happily have you watch him again!”

“Mika and Koji were great with Wicket. We received plenty of pics throughout the day and he looked happy (and pampered). While we were in Vancouver BC our car broke down and had to pick up our dog about 90 minutes late. Mika and Koji were very understanding and reassuring.”

About: Hello there, I’m Audrey. I’m a lifelong animal lover who is dedicated to being a compassionate and informed pet companion. I’ve been caring for pets since I was a kid, starting with my family’s siamese cat and border collie rescue. Since then, I’ve been a primary caregiver for two rescue mutts and a companion to the many pets of my friends and family. I’m passionate about learning to understand animal emotions and behavior in order to more effectively care for pets. My goal is to build a relationship that is based on compassion, understanding, and trust. My schedule is highly flexible. I work remotely as a freelance writer, which allows me to easily adapt to pets’ routines. I keep my Rover schedule current, so it accurately reflects my availability. It warms my heart that I get to help the animals I work with stay home where they feel comfortable and stick to the routines they are used to.
About: I’ve cared for animals of all kinds my whole life, including my (now passed) 17-year-old dog and my current puppy, Maggie. I understand the needs of both energetic youngsters and gentle seniors, and treat every pet as if they were my own. Pet care naturally fits into my daily routine - I’m used to feeding, walking, playing with, and checking in on pets throughout the day. Whether it’s scheduled visits or regular walks, I’m already in the rhythm of caring for pets consistently and reliably. I have a large fenced yard and am happy to make any accommodations for your pet that are needed (crating, leash training, administering medication, etc.)

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
