“Rocco made some friends today at Isabella’s place. I’m so glad that he is able to socialize with other pups and Isabella. I’m grateful to have such a great sitter. Peace of mind!”

“I had a great experience with Meaghan! She have a huge property with lots of trees, which gave my dog plenty of space to run, explore, and feel comfortable. It really feels like a natural, stress-free environment compared to typical boarding places. My dog came back happy and well cared for. I definitely recommend her if you’re looking for someone with a safe and spacious outdoor setting.”

“Jeff is such a great sitter & has been the only sitter that can take my puppy at very early times when needed. It’s also very clear that my puppy loves him & is being treated very well which is a plus for me & helps me relax knowing he is in good hands.”

“Tammy is an amazing puppy sitter! She was very understanding and accomodating when I told her it will be hard for me to find a parking spot to drop off Trixie in the AM before work. She offered to come pick her up at 6:30 AM! She was punctual and showed up at my door on time with a dog carrier. I handed Trixie over to her and had confidence that my puppy was in good hands. I was able then to drive to my train station and get to work on time. Upon meeting Tammy, you get a sense of security and peace of mind. She is super nice, flexible and updated me with lots of photos of Trixie throughout the day. She has an adorable Havanese puppy Warby who is ridiculously adorable. She followed my instructions and actually gave me some good advice in training Trixie to use the pad. I would use Tammy again in the furture and highly recommend her if you need a dog nanny for a day or while on vacation. She is wlling to go out of her way to make your life less stressful, and she is just genuinely a very nice, kind person. Trixie came home happy and tired after a long day with Tammy!”

About: I’ve had pets my entire life. When I turned 18 I adopted my Frodo, a fox hound who lived to be 19. I cared for him through his old age and had to carry him up & down the stairs for the last few years of his life as he had degenerative disk disease. I have foster dogs frequently and I will treat your baby as I would my own. We go regularly to the dog parks to socialize aside from playing in our own back yard. Your pet will be safe, happy and loved while you are away and you will be updated at least once every 4 hours with pictures. I am a teacher so I am free to be home with your pet all day long during the summer and school vacations. Aside from that I am free all weekends and evenings. During our time together your pup will have walks as often as you request, can run free in the yard, will be fed according to your schedule, can swim in the pool, and will be cuddled as much as your pup wants. For cats, I tailor my care to the individual cat based on your requests and your cat’s preferences. I live in a 4 bedroom house with a back yard that is fenced with a pool. Your baby can have the run of my house or can crate if that’s what you normally do. My goal is to keep your pets routine as normal as possible while you are gone so my care will be tailored to your requests. I am a teacher, so I am home all summer, school, vacations, and weekends. I am also home in the evenings. During the normal school year, I am gone for 8 hours out of the day. If the calendar says I am available then that means your pup will be the center of attention during that time. I have a fenced backyard where your pup can roam or a crate if that is what they prefer. They can have the run of my house or a sweet spot on the couch. Keeping your pets normal routine is key.
“Extremely caring and trustworthy! Genevieve sent me numerous updates with photos throughout the day while my dogs were with her. Not only was I at peace, but my nervous dogs were very quick to open up to her as well. She has a very clean house and large backyard for plenty of room to play. Her two dogs are super socialized too. Thank you Genevieve! We’ll see you again!”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was very small, from taking care of my own dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and even frogs! To fostering kittens and working at a pet store! I grew up around K-9’s as my dad is a K-9 trainer, so I’m very comfortable around all types of dogs! I currently am a student in college and I do school online. I have plenty of time to give pet care and my attention to many pets! 😁 I have a fenced yard, I have two dogs and three cats! I have a cat tree and many toys for cats and dogs as well as rawhide free bones for dogs! I love to take Teddy on walks around the neighborhood!
About: As a devoted dog owner for over 15 years, I have had the privilege of caring for a diverse range of dogs, from curious puppies experiencing the world for the first time to rescue dogs who require extra love and patience, as well as senior dogs facing various health challenges such as arthritis, sensory impairments, and regularly administered medications and supervision. Working from home allows me to provide your dog with constant companionship and attention, ensuring they are never left alone. This also keeps me openly available for anything they may need. My days are filled with energy and joy as I play and care for my spirited and affectionate one-year-old Dutch Shepherd. We reside in a spacious home with cool tiled floors, ideal for warm days, and enjoy the luxury of over an acre of fenced-in backyard space, perfect for running, playing, or simply soaking up the fresh air. When we’re not outside exploring, visiting dog parks or the beach, or enjoying cozy cuddle sessions, I take pride in preparing homemade meals and treats for my dog, and I’m more than happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions or allergies your pup may have. During feeding times, all dogs are separated to ensure a calm and organized environment, with meals served twice a day and snacks in between if needed. Our home is flexible and welcoming, so please share your dog’s usual routine, and I will accommodate their needs. I look forward to meeting your furry friend and ensuring they feel completely at home during their stay!

About: Hi! I’m Tamara, and if your pet stays with me, they’ll be treated like family from the moment they walk through the door. ❤️ I’ve always had a soft spot for animals, and getting to care for them honestly doesn’t feel like work to me. Every pet has their own little personality, routines, and quirks, and I love getting to know what makes each one happy. Whether your dog loves long walks, endless games of fetch, or would rather spend the day snuggled up on the couch, I’m happy to meet them where they’re most comfortable. When you’re away, my goal is to make your pet feel as safe, loved, and stress-free as possible. I stick closely to their normal routine, follow every instruction carefully, and make sure they get plenty of attention, affection, playtime, and exercise based on their individual needs. I also know how hard it can be to leave your pet with someone else. That’s why I send lots of photo updates and messages throughout their stay so you never have to wonder how they’re doing. I want you to feel like you’re right there with them. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, their safety, happiness, and comfort always come first. I pay close attention to their behavior, make sure they have a clean and cozy environment, and treat them with the same love and patience I’d want for my own pets. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family member, and I hope to become someone you can count on whenever you need a trusted sitter!! I’m fortunate to have a flexible schedule and spend most of my time at home, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets I care for. Whether we’re out for a walk, playing, or simply relaxing together, I love making sure every pet feels happy, comfortable, and cared for throughout the day. Since I’m home often, I’m also able to provide companionship and make sure pets aren’t left alone for long periods of time while their owners are away! Safety starts with understanding each pet as an individual. Before caring for a new pet, I take the time to learn their routine, personality, comfort level, and any important details from their owner. Knowing what is normal for each pet helps me provide better care and recognize when something may be different. In my home, I provide a calm and comfortable environment where pets can relax, play, and receive plenty of attention throughout the day. I have a large fenced yard with plenty of space for supervised outdoor time, play, and enrichment while still making sure each pet’s safety comes first. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their space with the same respect I would want for my own. I keep their routine consistent, follow instructions carefully, and make sure they feel comfortable in their familiar environment. I believe good pet care is about being attentive, patient, and proactive. I pay attention to changes in behavior, energy levels, eating habits, and overall well-being, and I keep owners updated so they always feel connected and informed!
“This was the first time we used Rover for Zelda and we are super glad we chose Don to watch her. We told him that Zelda has a habit of taking things off of tables and counters and he “Zelda proofed” his house for us. She came home happy and safe, which is all we could wish for. We will be using Don again. Thanks Don!”

“Alison and Mike took great care of Saoirse!! Wonderful communication before and during the daycare, they accommodated my wacky work schedule, and sent beautiful pictures during the day. We appreciate you guys so much, will definitely use you again!”

“We are new to the area and needed to find a reliable sitter for our 2 year old lab. Tatiana took Maisie on last minute and took great care of our girl. She also made sure to update me with pictures. Maisie came back to us so happy and is now sleeping like a baby. Thank you!!”

Laureen is an amazing dog sitter. Our dog Riley always had so much fun. We always felt good dropping off our dog Riley because we knew she was in good hands. Laureen treated Riley just as her own. Riley didn’t want to leave her side some days when we came to pick her up. We would highly recommend Laureen to anyone who needs to have their fur baby to be watched while they are at work or if they need to go out of town. She treats every animal with great care and attention.

Sarah was amazing! Her dog Lana and my 2 dogs all got along great. Her house and fenced yard was perfect accommodations. Sarah sent pictures, without me asking and we ran over an hour late due to the highway closed from accident and she was great saying take your time. Definitely will use again!!!

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
