This volunteer work at my job shadow (on resume) has given me hands-on experience handling different animal breeds and understanding the deep emotional bond between pets and their owners. I observed a cat surgery, the importance of aftercare and recovery. I’ve studied a Certified Veterinary Technologies performing a venipuncture safely. No furry companion is too big or too small to provide dietary/nutritional feeding times, potty breaks, midday check-ins, local dog walks, structured hygiene, health tracking & emergency preparedness! About: Before college, I was the primary caregiver for my family’s dog, Max—handling everything from daily walks and feeding to bathing, training, and playtime tailored to his pace and personality. That hands-on experience taught me how to read a dog’s needs and build trust through consistency and care. I’ve also cared for multiple pets through prior sitting experiences, including three dogs of different sizes and three cats, so I’m comfortable adapting to a variety of temperaments, routines, and energy levels.
