About: Hi! My husband and I have both had dogs since we were young kids. We currently have a senior dog (female) and a puppy (male 11months). Both are Australian shepherds. We also have two kids (6 and 8). We have a lot of experience with dogs of all ages and needs. :) We have a fenced in yard and our puppy would love someone to play with during the day. I am home with my kids pretty much all summer, so I’m available most of the day. Dogs will need to be good with other dogs and young children as well as spayed/neutered. We have a puppy, so I am in and out all day to take him outside and play with him. I am also home with my kids all summer, so we are at home a lot! I have a fenced in yard and two friendly dogs to keep your pup company. They are both crate trained, although our senior dog is left out when we leave. I have an extra small crate (or you can bring one). We love dogs and would treat yours like our own.
“We ❤️ Sheri!! She has watched my pup on my long class days for two semesters now and he now knows when we are almost at her house and gets so excited! It’s so nice knowing he is somewhere that he loves and gets lots of walks and snuggles when I can’t be there!”

“Riley loved spending the day with Dawn and got loads of play time with her other dogs, she was lovely and made us feel super comfortable leaving her for the day. Will definitely be going back again!”

“Zadie enjoyed her day stay at Andreea's today. The shady back yard was a perfect exercise spot in this hot, muggy Richmond weather. Andreea let me know via message that Zadie wasn't so interested in her food, which she made up for when she returned home! Guess she was having too much fun interacting with Andreea's two pups to think about eating. Smooth booking, arrival and departure.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs my entire life, growing up in a home with multiple pups of all sizes. From feeding and bathing to long walks and playtime, I’ve always been hands-on in making sure they’re happy and well cared for. In addition to dogs, I’ve also raised birds, turtles, and fish, so I’m comfortable caring for a variety of animals. I understand that every pet has its own personality and needs, and I always aim to make them feel safe, loved, and at home. I currently work from home so I’m able to provide physical comfort and stimulation via petting and playing with toys. We also have a dog park where I can take your pet for off leash running around and fetching. I have experience providing oral medicine for dogs. I allow dogs on furniture and free roaming in the house, but if you have a crate and wish to bring it just let me know. Please provide any instructions on feeding schedule or items.
“Caroline is very friendly and responsive. She immediately clicked with my mini poodle after their first meeting. She sends great pictures and video updates so you know how your baby is doing throughout the day. I would definitely recommend her for daycare.”

About: I have grown up with dogs and cats since infancy and I started petsitting professionally for neighbors, friends, family and others at age 12. Now, I love providing petsitting, dogsitting and petcare services for animals on the side. I have two well-behaved indoor cats of my own and they have many "cousins" (my mom bred Shelties and currently owns three, in addition to a kitten and my sister has a rescue pup). I have fostered moms with kittens from the SPCA. I am patient, kind, loving and caring for furry-faced friends brings me much joy and fulfillment! I currently take care of my best friend’s Maine Coon when she is out of town and on weekdays, I let out and play with her Corgi and lab puppy mid day. I also Petsit for neighbors as needed and have long term relationships with families whose dogs and cats I have taken care of for going on 6+ years! I work full time but it is regular 9-5 Mon through Fri hours and it is a remote job so I work from home. I am available in the mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and can check in on pets during the day if needed. I have petsat for many folks while working full-time without any issues, and have already established a great routine for petsitting while working remotely! I live in a spacious two bedroom, two bathroom apartment. I have two friendly, well-behaved indoor cats who are familiar with dogs, cats and pets and have had foster cats, kittens and dogs in our apartment with no fights or problems! We do not have a yard, but the apartment is pet-friendly, in the suburbs, in a safe neighborhood and has lots of sidewalks, grassy areas and space for dog walking, etc. There is even a fenced-in dog park a minute from our apartment, in the complex! :) Our apartment is clean, spacious and has plenty of blankets, furniture and space for fuzzy-faced kiddos! I work full time but remotely and it’s easy for me to fit pet care into that routine! Having a flexible schedule allows me to work around your pets’ needs! I am flexible and am comfortable caring for your fur baby in my home or yours! Have provided both services over the years. Just let me know what best suits you!
“Katie did an amazing job with our puppy Bear! She made him feel so welcome and safe and her sweet Louie is an angel - wore bear out! Katie was so easy to work with and gets an A++ for communication! Bear will definitely go back to Katie Camp!”

“Bentley really enjoyed his dog sit with Aileen and her family. Everything went well. Kept me informed of how much fun he was having and sent pictures. Will definitely be rebooking in the future.”

“Nina was caring, communicative, and kind! She gave our pup lots of exercise during daycare and he was so happy, sleepy, and content once we picked him up. Highly recommend :)”

About: Hi everyone! I'm Casey and I would love to be your go-to doggy day care/dog boarding person! I come from a family where everyone (except for my mom ahaha) loves dogs. At one point in my life, I even had 7 at one time because we had puppies! Of course, I didn't take care of them all alone and you don't have to as well! That's exactly why I'm here to help you. I currently have two small doggies that are potty trained, (mostly) well-behaved, and would love to make new friends. They’re fully up to date on vaccinations, flea and tic meds etc. I have a fenced backyard and someone is always home (either myself or my dad) to take them to potty/walks. I’m also willing to discount for longer stays and good rapport. The link below should give you 20 dollars off your first booking! https://www.rover.com/sit/caseyj49086 If I’m being completely honest, I’m trying to get side income to do a handful of things, but specifically, to be able to afford another dog >.< I want to adopt all the dogs from the shelter and I can’t do that without money. My two dogs right now are rescues as well! Thanks! I just graduated from college and I’m looking for extra cash so I’m free with very little notice! I’m studying mostly at home all day for an exam so I don’t have places to be. That means I can totally spend all day with your dog. Give them all the love, cuddles and play they need Simple answer. I would treat them like one of my own fur babies. Whatever my furbabies get to do, your dog will too! If we go to the park, go play catch, cuddle, train etc etc your dog will be treated like one of my own.
“Cindy is a wonder! My scaredy-dog loves her, and went to her willingly even though it had been a long time since his last visit. She asked if I’d like her to give him a bath, and that was a very welcome addition. Thank you Cindy!”

“Ashley took great care of my Facui. She get very nervous in new environments, but Ashley took her in like she was one of her own. Provided numerous photos of playtime. Very flexible and accommodating.”

“Always satisfied with Srujana’s care and enthusiasm when looking after Tenor. The pup always comes back happy, and most importantly, tuckered you after playing with Rex all day.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 618 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Lorraine. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Lorraine commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 618 sitters in Lorraine, 86% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
