“Perfect match for my furbabies! Kiera came prior to the actual sitter services to get to know our animals and their routine. She was comfortable and natural act connecting with them. I provided her with details of their care to which she easily followed. She came twice a day and spent time with our dog and cats ensuring their needs were met and even gave them extra love. I received photos and videos of them from each visit. I will definitely reuse her services in the future.”

About: I can’t remember an age where I wasn’t helping birth and raise kittens and puppies, turtles, or rodents. From having blind, toothless senior chihuahuas and senile cats…to a litter of brand new pups or kittens struggling to catch their first breath I’ve been part of it. I’ve had several rodents and reptiles, and cared for my friends and family birds as well. Trained puppies and kittens to use the potty and more. Also helped with a few farm animals too. I work only 20-25hrs a week, so I’ll always be home within 6hours or less. Outside of work, I’m home hanging out with my kids and furbabies. I have two e.s.a. Certified cats who tend to hide away when someone new is here. I’ve had them both since babies (13y & 3y). Keep things clean, organized, healthy, I had a cleaning company too. I don’t have crates on hand or an outside fence but I have a huge yard, the neighbor has a spayed female American bulldog, very friendly. There are farm animals next door. However, I do appreciate being where the pet is comfortable and knows its space.
“Christa has been amazing and so accommodating to our crazy, changing schedule. She has been so amazing with our boy Mango, and he has loved her so much! We will 100% continue using her in the future!”

“Thank you so much, Christina, for taking such good care of Leia during these past few days. We really appreciated all the updates and photos you sent us they gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Leia is doing great, and we are very grateful for your help. We will definitely reach out to you again in the future if we need pet sitting services.”

“April did an amazing job with our two cats! They immediately opened up to her and let their personalities shine. She did a great job caring for the boys which included the last minute addition of eye medication which she handled with ease. We will not hesitate to reach out to her for our further pet sitting needs!”

“I knew from the meet and greet that Lexi Ann would be a great fit for Mac. She was punctual, did everything I asked, and Mac was well-cared for while I was gone. I got pics to know my pup was doing well. I would recommend Lexi Ann and will certainly use her again when the need arises.”

About: By day, I work as a consultant, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of free time during regular hours. I’ve always loved animals, so I decided to turn that into something fun: dog walking and drop-in visits. I’d love to help keep your pup happy, active, and well cared for while you’re away! My day job gives me a lot of flexibility, so fitting in walks or drop-ins throughout the day is easy for me. It always brightens my day to spend time with animals. I love playing with them, getting outside, and just being around dogs in general. Here's a version for that: Safety is a top priority for me, whether we're out on a walk or spending time in your home. I'll always make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and is having a good time. I pay close attention to their behavior and surroundings, and if anything concerning comes up, I'll reach out to you right away so we can figure out the best next step together.
About: I grew up with my current dog who was a rescue. He was a scared but aggressive dog, who turned into my best friend. I am a very fit D1 track and field athlete at UNCW which makes me an amazing dog walker for all kinds. I have lots of patients and always have cared for all animals. I have done lots of dog sitting in my hometown and always been trusted by other dog owners. I am a college athlete with a busy schedule during the week, but I often have time in the evenings to care for all pets! I would love to be a part of the dog walking community and earn some money for school. I care for my pets and others pets in whichever way the owner would like me to. Every animal is different so catering to whatever they need is most important. Making sure the pet is happy and healthy is always my number one priority. I enjoy spending time with pets just as much as there owner and always making all animals comfortable.
“Lauren was amazing! We've lucked out and have been able to have family or friends come over to let our pups out when we have to be away for long periods of time, until now. We reached out to Lauren via Rover to come over and check on our pups. One was extremely worried about her presence and the other warmed up after a while. She is communicative and pleasent to talk with via the app. Her Rover Report Cards were detailed (with adorable pics) and helped put our minds at ease with a stranger caring for our pups. Thanks Lauren ?”

About: I have had pets as far back as I can remember. They are family to me. I dog-sit and cat-sit for my daughter regularly. I've rescued many cats and a few dogs here and there. I'll move a turtle from the road. I let bugs out of the house. You get the idea. I work full time during the day, but I would love to help with pet care during evenings and weekends. I'm highly active, love walking dogs, and can easily build pet care into my routine outside of standard business hours. I prefer to come to your house for pet sitting and walking but am willing to pet sit at my place if necessary. Food and water of course but I will also talk, walk, and play with them as needed.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Long Creek. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
