I can check on pets, walk dogs, or whatever is needed multiple times a day, every day. I have a fenced in backyard, a large kennel, and two dogs who love to play with other dogs! I have an indoor cat as well.

“Gretchen was a great fit for us and our cats. She communicated with us every day and sent tons of pictures. We knew our kitties were being taken care of. We will definitely use her again.”
“I am forever thankful for her to take this last minute request to walk my dogs. She is such an amazing photographer and very good with dogs. She is very good with communicating with me as well. If I need help in the future, I will definitely ask her first.”

About: Recently stationed in Gulfport and just moved into our new home. My wife and I will go above and beyond when caring for your dog or cats. I’ve had dogs my entire life and have house sat and walked dogs for family and friends for just as long. We have fostered cats as well and have experience with many types of animals. I have watched dogs from 8lbs puppies to 100+ pound dogs and everything in between. I have a fenced in yard and I love to give dogs attention and am always down to take them on a run, play fetch with them and give them lots of attention. I look forward to watching your pets! I am currently station at Camp Lejeune and my wife is home, so between the two of us, someone will always be watching your dog(s). I have a fenced in yard, and 2 non aggressive dogs. We always supervise when they are together and can ensure your dog will be safe with us.
“I had Mercedes watch my Savannah cat for 3 days. She dropped in twice a day as requested and was very courteous and updated me everyday while I was away at a conference. I was very apprehensive about getting someone off this app because of security and safety reasons but she did an amazing job. Its hard to find someone trust worthy with the keys to your house and your pet. I will regularly book her from now when I need someone to watch my cat.”

“Jessica was very responsive to my inquiry and easy to work and scedule with! I really appreciate her being available last minute. Also, I allowed her to bring her daughter, and I could tell from all the pictures that our kitten absolutely loved playing with them both. It seems like he got plenty of attention, and their love for animals is totally apparent. I had no worries leaving our fur baby in their care. :)”

I currently have an open schedule, so can be flexible and we can discuss options as needed and work around what fits for everyone involved. I can care for any pets to suit the needs of the pets and their humans, and can adjust as needed to accommodate unique situations.
“Lexie is very reliable and was great with my 2 kitties. Silas warmed up to her quickly and followed her around as she fed, watered and cleaned out the litter box. She was patient with my newly adopted Fluffy who is shy with new people. Everything was in great shape when I arrived home after 6 days. 😺”

About: Hi! I’m Elizabeth, a current veterinary technician with years of hands-on experience caring for animals of all sizes and personalities. Working in a veterinary clinic has given me strong skills in handling pets safely, recognizing signs of illness, and keeping animals calm and comfortable. Whether your pet is young and energetic or older and needs extra care, I’m confident and comfortable meeting their needs. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine! I work full days Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, so I’m available for early morning, evening, and nighttime care on those days. I’m completely off on Tuesdays and weekends, which allows for full-day availability, longer visits, or overnight stays. On Fridays, I’m available after 2 PM for walks, drop-ins, or extended care. I’m great at planning my schedule ahead of time to make sure every pet gets the attention, consistency, and care they need. I will not be accepting pets in my own home at this time, as I have two kittens of my own in a small apartment! I just wouldn’t have much space to bring in a pet, and for everyone’s safety, I don’t want to introduce a new pet and risk anything happening. I can do anything you require! From walks, to medication administration, I’m well versed in everything! I’m also okay with spending the night at a clients home, to make sure your babies don’t get lonely!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Long Beach. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
