““I can’t say enough good things about Gretchen! She was absolutely amazing with my cat, Tig, and he took to her right away. She was attentive, caring, and kept me updated throughout her time with him, which gave me great peace of mind. Tig was relaxed and happy when I returned, which shows just how comfortable he was in her care. I highly recommend Gretchen for anyone looking for a reliable and loving pet sitter!””

“Lexi was great with our babies!! One of our pups is scared of thunderstorms which was going on when Lexi did a home visit and she was so sweet and comforting to her! Our other pup gets meds and eye drops with her meals and Lexi had no issue with giving her these. She really took care of our pups while we were away!!!! We would 100% request Lexi again!!”

“It was a pleasure having Scott look in on my fur babies. He was very attentive and caring taking extra time out of his day to spend with them. I recommend Scott and will definitely call on him again.”

“Hannah was so great with my recent rescue Hank! He's still getting used to new people but she was patient and got him playing no problem. Communication was awesome and the pictures were so cute! Very happy with our experience and will definitely work with her again.”

“Absolutely fantastic sitter. Danielle went out of her way to accommodate my schedule and was flexible with last minute adjustments. I’ve used multiple sitters on this app and Danielle G. is the best of them.”

“Jessica was very responsive to my inquiry and easy to work and scedule with! I really appreciate her being available last minute. Also, I allowed her to bring her daughter, and I could tell from all the pictures that our kitten absolutely loved playing with them both. It seems like he got plenty of attention, and their love for animals is totally apparent. I had no worries leaving our fur baby in their care. :)”

About: Recently stationed in Gulfport and just moved into our new home. My wife and I will go above and beyond when caring for your dog or cats. I’ve had dogs my entire life and have house sat and walked dogs for family and friends for just as long. We have fostered cats as well and have experience with many types of animals. I have watched dogs from 8lbs puppies to 100+ pound dogs and everything in between. I have a fenced in yard and I love to give dogs attention and am always down to take them on a run, play fetch with them and give them lots of attention. I look forward to watching your pets! I am currently station at Camp Lejeune and my wife is home, so between the two of us, someone will always be watching your dog(s). I have a fenced in yard, and 2 non aggressive dogs. We always supervise when they are together and can ensure your dog will be safe with us.
“Faith was great with sending daily updates. Although she never saw our cat, we did let her know that would probably be the case. She saw her the first day hiding in a closet, but she would not come out. Faith still did a great job taking care of her needs.”

“Theresa really helped me out in a pinch, and right around the holidays too! She is friendly and easy-going, punctual, and reliable. She showed up at the requested times each day, provided pics and a note, and all for a very reasonable rate (especially compared to some of the exorbitant rates on here!). Book her today - you won't be disappointed!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Long Beach. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
