About: As someone who grew up on a small farm, I have been around a variety of animals since birth. I have experience caring for a variety of species and am comfortable handling any animal. I have volunteered with local animal shelters for over a decade, so I also have extensive experience caring for pets with behavioral issues and medical needs. I am a part-time sitter who is providing pet care services in addition to my full-time work. However, as a professor at a local university, I have a very flexible daily schedule and can easily provide pet care during typical business hours. Additionally, I do not work in the summer, which increases my availability from mid-May to September. I am very intentional about the number of clients I take at a time to ensure that I can provide comprehensive care to booked clients. I believe open communication is most important to be able to provide safe and reliable care for your pets. During our meet and greet, I will ask many questions to ensure that I have a full picture of what caring for your pet requires and how to meet your expectations. As someone who uses a Rover sitter to care for my pets when I am away, I personally understand the trust that is needed to leave your pets in someone else's care. I strive to build trust with clients by showing up when I say I do and following all instructions provided to me. And, it is not just about building trust with you but also your pet! If your pet has any behavioral issues or quirks, it's important for me to know this so that I can ensure safety for your pet and myself. This will help me adjust my interactions with them so I can build trust with your pet and respect their boundaries. The more information I have, the better!
“Ilene took such good care of my cats while I was out of town. She sent me so many pictures and it was so nice and reassuring to see how much fun my girls were having while I was away. I will definitely be booking her again in the future.”

“Whitney was amazing with our two cats! She left wonderful comments and pictures from each visit and our place was very clean when we came home (usually there is litter everywhere around the litter boxes) ? Will definitely have her take care of them again!”

“Thank you so much Vicki! We felt so secure having you take care of Charlie! We LOVE that you were able to take him on walks in the pet stroller! We will absolutely have you care for him again! Thank you so much!!!!!”

“Carrianne was amazing with my cat! My cat has never come out for any sitter before, but with Carrianne he even allowed some pets! She was punctual, reliable and personable, clearly made my cat feel very comfortable! I will definitely be booking her again for my next trip!”

“Highly recommend Travis for all pet sitting needs!!!! Our pets love him and we’ve been so appreciative of his availability even in last minute circumstances! Thank you for everything Travis!”

“We can't say enough wonderful things about Hope! We hired her to care for our cat Tiki while we were away on an extended vacation, and she exceeded every expectation. From the start, Hope took the time to truly get to know Tiki, who needed extra attention and engagement. She worked with us to build a personalized visit plan, and her ability to read Tiki's moods and adjust accordingly was remarkable — whether that meant an active harness training session or simply curling up together when Tiki needed comfort and cuddles. That kind of intuition and attentiveness is rare and made such a difference. Her communication throughout our trip was consistent and reliable, giving us complete peace of mind while we were away. If you're looking for a cat sitter who will genuinely connect with your pet and give them exactly what they need, we would recommend Hope without hesitation, and plan to hire her again!”

“Melissa dropped in to check on my 2 cats for four days. She was kind, dependable and responsible which gave me peace of mind, especially considering one of my cats is elderly and needs daily medication.”
