About: Animals have been a big part of my life since I was 12, and I’ve spent the last 18 years caring for cats, parakeets, and small snakes. I have hands-on experience with pets who need extra support, including caring for a family cat with cerebellar hypoplasia. I’m comfortable administering medication, trimming nails, and sticking to routines that help pets feel safe and comfortable. For the duration of undergrad, I volunteered at a bird sanctuary, where I cared for and comforted sick and lonely parrots—an experience that was truly life changing. While I’ve never owned a dog due to family member allergies, I’ve always loved them and have spent plenty of time around them. My neighbors and brother had pit bulls that I regularly played with and cared for, which gave me experience with energetic, affectionate dogs and helped build my confidence handling them. As a cat mom to Luna and MooMoo, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets. I’m currently working full time at home so I am available after 5 pm for dog walks and drop ins. I can make exceptions and do daytime check ins if local to the Lebanon, PA area. “Shilesky was so sweet to take care of my "boys," my Zebra Finch, Tic Tac, and Axie, my "teenage" kitty cat. Even though the site only let me book Axie for care, Shilesky quickly agreed to look after Tic Tac's food & water as well. As he was a stray as a kitten, my Axie can be very shy and takes a while to warm up to people, but Shilesky was so patient and loving with him, getting him to warm up to her by the end. About: Had pets my whole life. I walk all the time and know where to take them and have an SUV with enough room to fit them in. Have 2 children who adore all animals. I have a full time job, Tuesday through Saturday, but I’m usually home around 2-4 pm. I’m available every evening and can stop to let them out during the day because of my job flexibility. I love both ends of the spectrum. I love being active and taking dogs for walk/runs. I also love relaxing and cuddling with them and getting to know what their preferences. Will follow all strict diet rules and keep a very clean house to avoid unwanted eating restrictions.
