“This is the second time we have booked Jessica. I’m always nervous about leaving the dog but more so this time because we just added a puppy to the mix less than 2 weeks ago but she did great with both our dogs and makes the experience much more comfortable!”

“I was nervous leaving Moochie for an overnight trip having recently been diagnosed with diabetes. She requires two meals and two insulin injections daily. She is a bit shy and I was unsure if she would eat and accept her meds, but Dane worked his magic and she ate both meals and received insulin. What a relief! Milo was a bit shy the first day but was ready to say hello on the second day. I will definitely call on Dane & Kayla again!”

“Alicia was amazing she took excellent care of sheba , she took time to get to know sheba and vice versa, she was very patient and sent lots of photos during her visits which I greatly appreciated. She went above and beyond.”
About: Hi! I'm an animal lover who's been around & caring for them my entire life. Caring for pets has always been something I genuinely enjoy. I've grown up with animals and have experience caring for my own pets as well as dogs, cats, and other animals belonging to friends and family. My husband and I have experience with raising puppy litters over the years as well! I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I want to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for while you're away. Whether your pet needs a walk, some playtime and attention, meals and medication, or simply some company, I'm happy to provide personalized care based on what works best for them. My schedule is very flexible and I'm responsible, dependable, and will treat your pets and your home with the same care and respect I'd want for my own. I love sending photos and updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are happy and doing well while you're away! I work part-time from home, which gives me a lot of flexibility with my schedule. I'm usually able to work around your pet's routine and am available for walks, drop-ins, and sitting throughout the week. I'm happy to work with different schedules and do my best to accommodate whatever works best for you and your pets! I have two friendly medium-sized dogs (Shiba Inus) and a very social kitty who are very well socialized with other animals. They are all indoor/outdoor, so if your pet enjoys having some company, they're welcome to interact with them - or I can keep them separate if they prefer their own space. I have a private, fenced-in backyard where your pets can safely get some fresh air, exercise, and playtime. I want every pet to feel comfortable and safe, so I'll always follow your preferences and your pet's individual needs.
“Ashley was wonderful!!! She took pictures every visit which was very nice and got toys out and played with the cats. She left thoughtful, sweet and informative notes every visit. The cats loved her and were social with her. We would definitely book with Ashley again and 100% trust her with the care of our cats!!! Thank you, Ashley!!!”

“Kayla was awesome ☺️ She came over to meet Kai a few days before her visit and he absolutely loved her. She spent time playing frisbee with him and sent very cute pictures and video of my baby. I will definitely be using her again in the future.”

About: I've owned and cared for pets of all sorts, as well as show and farm animals, since I was a small child. I love them all and they all usually love me, even the one's people say don't like men/people. I'm also big and boisterous, equating to perfect (but kind) dominance and control, as well as capabilities the average person might not be able to do, like separating dog fights or controlling unruly large animals. I'm currently self-employeed and can craft my schedule at will to fit any needs! Available for walks, sitting, overnight boarding, and pop in visits at all times. I have 3 dogs, 6 cats, and a frog. Large home and almost a half acre yard, fence coming soon. I am no stranger to all types of animals and animal care.
About: I have owned pets my whole life. I am a lover of any and all dogs!! I am a full time college student studying nursing and I cannot wait to meet your furry friend!! please reach out :) I am a full time college student who also works part time. Typically my sundays, mondays, wednesdays, fridays, and saturdays are the best days for me. Times of day can vary depending on when my class/work schedule falls. Feel free to reach out and we can set something up!! I keep an eye on my animals when they are outside or playing which would go the same for yours. I do have a dog, her name is Tessa. She was kept away from public most of the time as a puppy so she is now starting to get acclimated to other dogs as well as people, so for the safety of your animals, I do not offer any boarding services but i am happy to come walk your animals as well as drop ins!!
“My pets were happy and my house was still clean and tidy when I came home. Mark was very accommodating and flexible with his schedule. He also stepped in pretty late in the game before my vacation after my previous dog sitter canceled. Thanks for taking care of my babies :)”
“Brady and Jennifer were amazing. They were available at the last minute and I had no problem reaching out to them. They took care of my kitty exactly as per the instructions. They were punctual and always kept an open line of communication during the entire stay. Definitely recommended.”

“Shilesky was so sweet to take care of my "boys," my Zebra Finch, Tic Tac, and Axie, my "teenage" kitty cat. Even though the site only let me book Axie for care, Shilesky quickly agreed to look after Tic Tac's food & water as well. As he was a stray as a kitten, my Axie can be very shy and takes a while to warm up to people, but Shilesky was so patient and loving with him, getting him to warm up to her by the end. I was so very pleased with Shilesky's friendly and sweet attitude and for taking such good care of Axie and Tic Tac. I would 100% book Shilesky again to watch after Axie and Tic Tac. Thanks!”

“Alyse is beyond wonderful! Great communication and gives my boys so much love and attention. I had a schedule change and needed to have help so my boys would have a break and some love. She is great, seriously the best! Thank you Alyse!! 💕”

About: I’ve been taking care of cats, dogs, lizards, and even fish for neighbors, family, friends, and acquaintances for over 15 years! I’m excited to offer my services to even more families in my community to lend a hand and rub some bellies! I currently make my own schedule with my work kiddos that I service, allowing lots of time to pop in and check on your pets throughout the day! I’m also flexible to visit early mornings, late evenings, or even spend the night. I always go the extra mile to give your pets love and attention while you’re away! Whether that’s extra long walks, cuddles for hours in the evenings, or playing outside till the sun goes down, I want your pet to feel safe while their favorite human is away.
“Susan is so sweet! Both my dogs were well cared for. She met ahead of time and was sure to jump right in and walk them, asked questions, got to know me and my pups, and was very thorough. We’re sadly heading out of the area but I absolutely recommend her and would use her again! Thanks for all the updates and such good care Susan!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Pleasant Hill
The whole experience from setup to final visit was a great experience with Dane and Kayla. My cats loved Dane and clearly looked forward to his visits. The photo updates were much appreciated and gave peace of mind while on vacation. Unfortunately, a worst nightmare for any pet parent happened when one of my cats became critically ill. Dane did everything possible for her and got her prompt emergency care while I could drive home. I know my cats were in good hands while I was away and would definitely recommend for anyone looking for reliable pet care while away.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pleasant Hill. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
