“Thanks to Thomas taking excellent drop-in care of my fur babies, my overnight getaway was relaxing and worry free, plus he took extremely cute action shots of their walks. I will definitely be asking him to care for them again.”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Jessa! From the very beginning, she was kind, responsive, and communicated with us so well. She always replied promptly, sent lots of updates and photos, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We have two senior dogs, one who takes daily medication, and both have some anxiety when we’re not home. Jessa was so patient and caring with them, and it was obvious they felt comfortable in her care. She handled everything perfectly. The biggest surprise was our cat! She almost never comes out for anyone, but she came out to see Jessa every single visit. My whole family couldn’t believe it when we saw the photos and videos. You can truly tell Jessa loves animals, and they seem to sense that too. We are so grateful we found her and will absolutely be booking with her again. If you’re looking for someone who is reliable, compassionate, communicative, and genuinely cares for your pets as if they were her own, I can’t recommend Jessa enough.”

Im currently looking for a job atm and looking for additional income. I take great pride in the care I provide for my own animals and will do so for any that I'm around. About: Dogs have always been very special to me because I've been around them my whole life because my mom was a dog groomer. That means I also know how to handle every situation that's comes at me with a dog. Animals deserve to be treated just as well as humans and I would like to make sure that they are loved and treated well. I also have reptiles and cats along with extra experience administering shots to dogs and snakes. I also have a bachelor's in biology. 6 years in my field in labs
About: I’ve grown up around countless dogs and pets. My aunt works in a rescue and growing up I spent a great amount of free time there with her. Helping her and playing with all the animals was a huge part of my childhood. I also help my girlfriend out who is a full time pet sitter her self. We do overnight sittings for dogs of different breeds, ages and size. I also have experience with cats! We have just added one to our Furry Family. I can run walk or jog. If your pet has a favorite park we can go there too. I’m here for all your needs! I am currently working as an independent contractor with a schedule that allows complete flexibility in my schedule. I get to choose my own hours and all of the work is possible regardless of location. I also won’t have any surprise changes to availability or sudden work emergencies. The care provided would be as if it was for my own pet. Animals deserve respect regardless who’s home they are at. High or low maintenance those needs will be met.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the depth of my hands-on experience with animals in both volunteer and home settings. I’ve volunteered at animal shelters, where I gained experience caring for animals with different personalities, backgrounds, and needs. At home, I’ve also cared for five pets, so I understand the consistency, patience, attentiveness, and responsibility that come with managing multiple animals at once. I’m comfortable adapting to each pet’s individual routine and temperament while making sure they feel safe, cared for, and given plenty of attention. I am currently working part-time in a remote position, which provides me with a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate ample time and attention to caring for pets. I provide attentive, reliable, and personalized care based on each pet’s individual needs and routine. Whether caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I make sure they have fresh food and water, regular walks and potty breaks, playtime, companionship, and plenty of attention. I carefully follow feeding schedules, household instructions, and any specific care preferences provided by the owner. I also prioritize maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment so pets can feel secure while their owners are away.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Las Palmas
Kara was absolutely amazing! She took such wonderful care of our girls while we were away and followed every instruction perfectly. She truly went above and beyond—not only did she make sure our cats were happy, loved, and well cared for, but she also took the time to feed the neighborhood "ferals" that we look after. One of the things we appreciated most was that she sent us plenty of pictures and videos throughout our trip. Seeing our girls happy, relaxed, and getting lots of attention gave us tremendous peace of mind and allowed us to truly enjoy our vacation. We came home to happy, content kitties, and it's obvious Kara genuinely loves animals and treats them as if they were her own. I wouldn't hesitate to book her again. 12/10—highly recommend Kara! Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our furry family! 🧡🐈

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Las Palmas. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
