“Amelia took care of my cat very well. My cat doesn’t warm up easily to very many people so I was pleasantly surprised that she let Amelia pet her! Clearly she felt very comfortable with her and I’m very happy with the care she received.”

“Awesome. It looks like Lou had a full experience! Thank you for paying such close attention. You two are at the top of my list. Thanks for caring for my boy. Chris”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals all my life and have always appreciated them. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, horses, chickens, fish, and even geckos! My pride and joy was my Chihuahua-Pomeranian mix, who thrived for 18 years until she passed of cancer in 2025. I have a young, long-hair cat, Mr. Macaroni, who is super crazy and keeps me from missing my sweet girl too much. I've always believed pets are important members of your family and deserve good care, which is what I'm sure I can provide for your family! I’m currently working part time and going to college full time, in which I usually have weekends off. Please feel free to request days or times that fit your schedule and I’ll be happy to wiggle my time as best I can to fit your pet’s needs! When I take care of any pet it’s important to me they always have access to water, are fed adequately, and I like to make sure they have plenty of potty breaks outside or a clean potty environment (like a litter box, stall, their cage, etc.). Please rest assured, if your pet is energetic or playful I’ll entertain them with toys, walks, or puzzles as well!
“Kate was amazing! As my first experience with Rover, Kate put this worried pet parent at ease. She answered messages promptly and offered lots of reassurance. Kate followed directions and followed up with specific updates and pictures for each visit. She went above and beyond for our fur babies, even leaving a precious memento! We will be booking again. Thank you!”

“Alexis was wonderful with our dogs. It was nice to recieve so many great photos. She is very reliable and keeps in touch with great communication. It was comforting to know our dogs were left in great care.”

“Faith was amazing with our two cats while we were away for two weeks. She sent amazing report cards explaining how each of them were doing, spent time playing with them, and loved that she took photos of Each food bowl and litter box for us. We will definitely be using her for all future needs!”

About: I have been dog sitting for my family and friends for 10 years now and have my own fur baby at home as well. I have mostly done overnight stays as this is what was needed for their animals. I work five days a week and my schedule is pretty flexible. I work Monday-Friday so I am free on weekends, along with before and after work on week days. I always ensure to ask questions if needed so that I can make sure your pet is always safe in their home. Pets usually feel more comfortable in their own environment so I provide services in clients’ homes.

“Keely is very communicative and trustworthy. She took wonderful care of my dog that I was very worried about while I was at work. Keely took my dog to the vet when I asked her to and communicated everything with me and made me feel so much better that my pet was in good hands. Keely has been walking my dog a few times now and I will definitely continue using her services.”

About: I’ve never been a day without owning all sorts of animals. From rabbits, birds, cats, dogs, poultry and horses, I love them all! I would love to be there for your pets while you are away. I’m a retired school bus driver for Clovis Unified so my availability is very open. Whether it’s morning or evening feedings, or afternoon visits, I can be there! I can send pictures of your pets to you to keep you comfortable!
About: Dog lover here! 🐾 I’ve had dogs for as long as I can remember and have a lot of experience volunteering at shelters, fostering, and rescuing dogs to find them loving homes. I’ve worked with all sizes, from small to large, and even senior dogs. While I don’t currently have a dog after my beloved pup passed over the rainbow bridge in May, my family and I are still healing. In the meantime, I’d love to temporarily fill our home with the joy and love of caring for your dog. Whether it’s one dog or more, I’m open to all kinds of pups. Even if your dog isn’t always friendly with other dogs, that’s no problem. I’m here to give them the care and attention they deserve! I’m home most of the day, except for running errands and taking my kids to and from school. If your pup enjoys car rides, they’re welcome to join us! The longest I’d be away from home is about 4-6 hours at most. Share your needs with me, and I’ll do my best to make it work! I have a good-sized fenced yard, and two 7-year-old children, so your dog will need to be kid-friendly. I’ll follow any rules you set for your pet to ensure they feel right at home.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Burness
I highly recommend Michelle as a pet sitter. I was traveling out of the country and felt confident in the quality of care my dear cat received during her daily drop-in visits. She was very reliable and trustworthy and all instructions were followed. I received a daily photo and “report card”. I returned to a calm cat and home just as I left it.

Ally always does an amazing job with our cats. They feel super calm and comfortable whenever she comes over, which says a lot because they can be picky about people! She’s reliable, gentle, and truly great with animals. We’re so grateful to have her as our sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Burness. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
