“First time using Rover, or any dog walking app, and Shirley made us feel so comfortable! She asked plenty of questions beforehand to give my pup the best experience. And I loved seeing all her pictures of Hazel during her visit! I will absolutely use Shirley again!”

About: Growing up my mom was a vet tech before she switched careers as a teacher due to her allergies, but she passed down her knowledge to me and my sister. She would always find injured animals, take them in, and nurse them back to health. This helped me grow a love and care for animals the same way she did. Recently, I worked at an animal hospital as a receptionist and learned so much more about how to care for cats and dogs and my love has only grown. Although, I don’t work at the vet anymore because I wish to pursue other ventures, I still desire to care for animals so I decided to try out Rover to help others with their fur babies! I have a pretty flexible part-time job right now! If I need a day (or days) off I just go into our scheduling app and select unavailable. It’s great because I don’t have to wait for anyone’s approval. It’s just preferable that I do so at least two weeks in advance to help my supervisor out with scheduling! I have a cat and dog in my household, but I mostly care for my cat and my mom primarily cares for the dog but I help whenever needed and vice versa. When it comes to my cat I feed him about a scoop of dry food twice a day and will add wet food every other day and always makes sure he has clean water (and trust me he will let me know when it needs to be change haha, cats can be pretty picky like that). He’s 10 years old but is still an absolutely baby who loves cuddling, but will let me know his boundaries and I will respect that. He doesn’t play much with toys, but will be energetic at random times and I love it when he is. I know when it comes to pets, both cats and dogs, there are the basics when it comes to taking care of them but a lot of things differ depending on each pet, so it’s really all about getting to know them and their personality. You also know your baby best, so listening to the owner is good practice. Patience is a virtue because some pets take a bit longer to warm up than others! Every pet has their own boundaries. With dogs I drop-in, from time to time, to my close-friends house to walk her dog and have baby sat him. He’s an energetic boy so he pulls at the leash at times because he gets excited and also anxious, but he has improved and listens when you establish your authority, but also showing him you’re a safe space and treat him with love/kindness which is a lot like my dog at home. Animals pick-up on the energy you give off; they feed off of your anxiety, your joy, etc. Setting a good foundation can make or break your relationship with an animal, especially if they’re on the more anxious side (because of course some are more friendly than others). Pets don’t respond well to yelling or loud noises (especially not cats!); again, from my experience, patience, kindness, and being calm works well.

“Natalie was so great with Captain!! Super communicative, had no problem with a meet and greet, and very very kind! Tons of photos. I can tell from that alone Captain had a great day on both his walks and felt very comfortable. 10/10 will book again!”

About: Growing up with dogs, especially Golden Retrievers, has given me a lifetime of love and experience. My journey began as a kennel tech at a veterinary office, where I learned how to care for dogs with diverse needs, from specialized diets and medication to post-op care and lots of playtime. I even worked as a kennel tech at a doggie daycare in college, picking up countless tips for handling all kinds of personalities. After losing my Golden Retriever, Gonzo—my loyal friend through my teenage years—I chose not to get another dog. But for the past 25 years, I’ve been the go-to caregiver for friends’ dogs, showering them with the same love and attention I would for my own. I bring both experience and a heart full of affection to every pet I care for. I’m currently working part-time, primarily in the evenings and on weekends, which leaves me with plenty of free time to care for your dog. I’m also home every night, so you can rest assured that your pup will have company and attention if they’re boarding with us. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or simply extra cuddles, I have the flexibility to give your dog the care they deserve. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I am CPR & First Aid Certified for Dogs & Cats through American Red Cross. Our home is set up with a concrete block fenced backyard with two secure gates, so dogs have a safe space to play. We also have a large pool with a safety fence to ensure that kids and dogs can’t accidentally access it. Our home is completely smoke-free, and we don’t have any other pets, so your dog will be the center of attention. With two adults and one gentle 10-year-old child in the house, your pet will be cared for in a calm, loving environment.

“Jaden did a great job walking our dog. She came over for a meet and greet before the first walk and our pup instantly liked her. She showed up on time and sent adorable pictures of him on their walk. I've already rebooked Jaden for next week. She will be our go-to walker while my husband and I are at work.”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life, and 24 years ago I had the wonderful privilege of becoming a pet owner myself. Over the years, I’ve cared for countless pets for family and friends while they were away—and I’ve enjoyed every single moment. Today, I have a dog of my own and also care for outdoor cats, so I truly understand how important it is to keep your pets happy, safe, and loved while you’re gone. I originally started Rover with my daughter, a proud UCF graduate, and I’ve loved the experience so much that I’ve continued on my own! Currently, I’m not working a full-time job, which means I have the time and flexibility to give your pets the attention they deserve. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or snuggles, I’m here to help in any way I can. I look forward to taking care of your furry family members as if they were my own! I will spend the time with your furry loved one and take care of them in anyway you need. I’m very patient with our furry friends. I will talk to, feed and pet anything that crosses my path. I promise to love and care for your pet as if they were my own. I work from home, so I have plenty of flexibility to drop in on your baby(ies), take them for walks and/or have them stay in my home while you're away for the day. I live in a very dog and walking friendly neighborhood and have (2) friendly pooches that love to make new friends and invite them to join us on their daily walks.

About: I’ve owned and cared for cats and dogs since I was a child. I currently have a golden goofball at home and three cats. I will always accommodate to the best of my ability and give plenty of alert time. Please reach out with any questions. “I’ll start off by saying I’m very picky with who watches my dog Chief because, he has a heart murmur and severe anxiety. Alondra is one of three total people I trust with Chief, not only did she work with me at an animal hospital and has the knowledge needed to take care of him but, he also LOVES her. I know she takes good care of him because, of how he reacts when he sees her. I’d highly recommend her to anyone who needs their pets taken care of.”
