About: I’ve taken care of animals since I can remember. I grew up on a farm have no less than four dogs my entire life on top of the livestock. I truly miss being with all of my animals back home since moving to college in order to pursue my veterinary degree. I would love to be able to just come love on the animals to feel a little closer to home. I will be able to drop in various times as I am a full time college student with a job I can not stay with them all day. I will provide plenty of enrichment and even work on some basic commands with your pet. I love to go for walks or even play fetch just to help stretch their legs. I am currently enrolled in pre-vet medicine at McNeese, and I also have a part time job. I usually am free most mornings and around lunchtime. I do live in an apartment complex which may make in home sitting difficult. I would be willing to make some accommodations if possible or when needed.
“Alexis was great! Super communicative, on time, and kept me updated with lots of photos throughout the stay. It was such a relief knowing my pet was in good hands. Would definitely book again!”

About: I have grown up with dogs my whole life and I have had two of my own for years now. My oldest being 13. These are country pups who love to get down and have a good time. I care for them tremendously and will do so to yours as my own. I am currently working from home, I have a lot of free time to take care of the pups needs at any part of the way and make sure they get enough exercise in as well. I have a 67 acre private property with enough room for your fur babies to roam safely. I have two other fur babies of my own to keep them company and have friends to play with. I can cater to anything your dogs need with the amount of time and space I have.
“Monica was great! Very responsive and helpful. Marlie was shy and she was patient to get her to come around. Im very happy she was able to come by while Marlie was home alone.”

About: Dogs are the most awesome pets to have. I love spending every free moment I have with mine Toby and Lance. They bring me happiness whenever I see them. They put me in check with what is important. I would have 20 of these little guys of my own if that would be possible. So instead I decided to become a pet-sitter and enjoy other people's pets. This also gives my dogs play time and social interaction with others. The greatest and most memorable times are the times spent with dogs. These guys deserve the best care and happiness we can provide them. So now Rover.com has provided me the opportunity to share my love for animals. You will not have any worries or doubts your will be in great hands of a responsible and attention to detail pet sitter.. Thanks for checking out my profile. I hope you book me soon for your pets! Mike J.

About: I have had animals since I was 6, including horses, rabbits, dogs, and cats. For about 6 years, I've been dog sitting, barn sitting, and cat sitting for family friends. I've been around multiple different animals and breeds. I am currently a full time college student on break, so I have ample time to care for pets! I always enjoy meeting new people and their pets and taking some stress out of situations of having to leave behind our pets. I won't be able to care for pets in my home, but I can help with taking care of pets in my clients' homes. I ensure food and supplements are given at proper times, and I also learn my client's preferences for the pets. I'm a firm believer in getting to know the animal and their habits so nothing goes unnoticed.

About: I am active and love to be active with a canine. I moved back to Louisiana from Hawaii in 2021. I have been an active Rover sitter in Honolulu since 2018. I love dogs and enjoy when they visit my home. My sweet Bear passed away last year so opening my home to care for other fur babies is extra special. I would really like to share the love I have to give with your dog/s. Also, I know dogs miss their owners and get lonely when their loved ones are away. I enjoy being able to keep your dog/s company and make sure they have all of their needs met; love, attention, treats, activities, etc. I have experience caring for a wide variety of animals (wild and domestic). I have owned dogs, cats, cows, horses, rabbits, chickens, sheep, goats, pigs, guinea pigs, hamsters, skunk, fish, turtles, sugar gliders, and prairie dogs. I have a college degree in biology and I worked as a veterinary tech while attending college. I work and babysit part-time so my schedule is flexible. I am home to cuddle and spend time in the yard as needed. We love to play outside. I have a fenced in yard with quite neighbors. It is very peaceful in my backyard. I love to spend time outdoors in my yard unless it is extremely hot or raining. I also love to take fur babies on outings to parks and wildlife areas.

I have helped friends and families take care of their fur babies for about 9 years now, from feeding, to walking, and even snuggling, I’ve always been there when they needed! About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and have experience caring for both puppies and senior dogs. I’m comfortable maintaining routines, administering medications, and providing calm, attentive care. I’ve completed training and obedience work through Cincinnati Canine Companions, giving me a strong foundation in positive reinforcement and canine behavior. I tailor my care to each dog’s needs, with extra patience and gentle support for senior dogs. After recently losing my dog, I wanted to continue sharing care and companionship with dogs while offering calm, reliable support to their families. I treat every dog with the same care, patience, and respect I give my own. Pet care fits smoothly into my routine. I have a flexible schedule with availability some mornings, most afternoons and evenings, and weekends, allowing me to accommodate routine care, last-minute needs, and consistent visits. I prioritize safety, trust, and clear communication at every visit. When possible, I like to meet pets and owners in advance to help build familiarity and reduce stress. I carefully follow established routines, medication instructions, and household guidelines. I’m especially attentive to senior or anxious dogs who may need extra patience, gentle handling, or slower-paced care. I respect your home, secure doors and gates, and provide calm, reliable care so your pet feels safe and supported while you’re away. I am severely allergic to cats, so I am unable to care for dogs if there is also a cat in the home.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lake Charles
Caleb is a real find. She is punctual, considerate and personable. She adores her cats and that carries through to the care she gives to mine. Caleb made it possible for me to enjoy my trip knowing that my two boys were in good hands. I am definitely panning to ask her to care for them in the future.
Callie did great overall! I’ve never booked with any professional sitter before so I was a little nervous about my cat being taken care of. She reassured me, sent check in pictures of Bee, and followed the list I gave her. My only complaint is we requested our litter bag to be thrown out 1-2 days before our arrival, and I figured that automatically implied the outside trash can, as we were gone on our honeymoon, so when we got back our house snuck horribly from the poop and pee in out kitchen trashcan.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
