I’ve been a homesteader and became known in my community as the local farm sitter! Into my late 20’s, I went to college to study Occupational Therapy. For the last 7 years, I provided rehabilitation therapy to my patients in the acute setting in the largest hospital system in Oregon. Now on Hawai’i, I knew it was time to combine my extensive experience in both fields, providing tailored services to meet my clients individualized needs. I work independently providing personal training, wellness coaching, and farm/pet care on a flexible schedule. About: I worked in a dog boarding and pet day care facility all through high school. Afterwards I did dog walking and pet sitting for those same families after I graduated and continued until recently when I moved. I grew up with lots of pets and I love every single one of them. Dogs hold a very special place in my heart. I have practice dispensing medication to animals due to my past job experience. I’m very active and love playing with dogs and taking them for walks. I also volunteered in my local animal shelter in the beginning of college. I’ve spent plenty of time around dogs, cats, and lots of other animals through out my life. About: I have a master's degree in Primate Conservation. I have been pet-sitting (cats and dogs) since 2016. I have also been working with primates in zoos, rescue and rehabilitation centers, and zoos since 2002! I'm experiences administering meds, food, and even intramuscular injections to all sorts of animals. I've also assisted in veterinary surgeries in Africa (but I'm not a veterinarian or a vet tech -- I've just worked in a lot of different settings with animals). I teach ESL remotely during nights (my students are in China), so if I'm hired for pet sitting in your home, then I'll need wifi access. I'm also running a research project a few mornings a week. I will come to your home to provide services, such as walking, sitting, taking to play groups, or feeding. I am not able to host dogs in my home.

About: Local to Big Island for the last 6 years, based in upper palisades but willing to travel up to 25 miles. I have 10+ years of animal experience - beginning with volunteering at my local humane society and animal shelters at the age of 16, to training service dogs for children with autism for National Service Dogs and later on becoming a certified dog trainer. While completing my undergraduate degree I worked at 2 different pet stores and dog walked & dog sat for cash on weekends. I have been house/dog sitting regularly for 4+ years for two local families - one of which with 3 elderly wiener dogs and the other with two high energy samoyed puppies turned adult pups. My undergraduate degree is in Animal Biology, and my graduate degree is in Animal Behaviour & Welfare - both completed at University of Guelph in Canada where I was born. Although my specialization was in African penguins, I have lots of love for fluffier animals too. I have worked in the veterinary industry for 3+ years as a vet assistant/technician, but since moving back to Hawaii I’ve moved into the tourism industry. I am comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and have experience working with dogs of all breeds and ages. I’m currently working part time in the tourism industry, so I have plenty of flexibility in my schedule to accommodate Rover care needs for my clients. With plenty of experience pet sitting and house sitting, I realize that every situation is going to be slightly different — I try to match what the pets are used to first and foremost, the walks pet owners tend to take their dogs on and do activities that are already a part of the pets routine. Though I never let dogs off leash while dog sitting, even if owners usually do; the possibility of losing a pet is not something I’m comfortable with, so better safe than sorry.

About: I grew up having 3 dogs on the farm of various sizes. I loved having dogs growing up and wish I was at a time in life where I could have one myself. I am a very active person and would love to play or run with your dog. A dog is like another family member and they need attention, relationship as well as a discipline at times. I would love to show my compassionate heart to your furry best friend while you may be away. I am familiar with various breeds and volunteered at a local humane society while in college. I would love to bless you with my services while you bless me with time with your dog. I am very free at the moment and can provide above and beyond care. I currently work remotely but at times have free time on my hands. I can accommodate walking during mid day, some evenings and possibly house/dog sitting. I do have a 1 year old son who absolutely loves animals as we have my parents family dog. I would prefer taking care of clients dog at their own place as that is their home. Our family dog doesn't get along well entirely with other dogs. She is small and doesn't hurt them just more in her ways of being an only "child." I can also take the dog to a local dog park if wanted as well as I have a roomier Honda CRV. Can feed and make sure the furry friend has water of course as well.

About: Ever since I was young, I’ve loved animals. I grew up helping my family foster and train german shepherd puppies who would become seeing eye dogs. Since then, I’ve had three dogs of my own and pet sat for other’s dogs, cats, and even goats. I currently don’t have any pets and would love to get some doggy time in walking your dogs! I’m a full time nursing student but I’m free on Fridays between 9:30am-3:30pm to walk your dog! If your dog is friendly with kids, I’m more flexible - just reach out and we can arrange something. I’m really looking forward to it! Whether I’m walking your dog around the neighborhood or taking them on a hike (with your approval), their safety is my first priority. I’m always on the lookout for cars, people, other dogs or wildlife that could pose a hazard. You can rest assured your dog is safe with me!

About: I have always loved animals. I feel a special connection with them, their honesty and their unconditional love. Animals never lie and they never judge. I have never met an animal I didn’t like. I will do everything I can to ensure your loved ones have the best possible care I can provide. I have a flexible work schedule so I can make regular drop-ins, walks, feedings, etc. I worked as a veterinary assistant for a short time so I have a little background in caring for sick animals as well. I am diligent about sending photos and updates as often as you like! I have a relatively flexible schedule at work so I can make multiple trips to let the babies out for bathroom breaks as long as you don't live too far away from downtown Kona. I think animals are more comfortable in their own homes with their own smells and familiar sounds. Whether they prefer to sleep alone or with me, I'm adaptable to whatever makes them the most comfortable.

About: Currently our landlord doesn’t allow us to have pets, so I’m trying to get my doggy fix from somewhere! Happy to help if I can! I am only available Sunday’s or part of Monday’s due to my work schedule. I work full time during the week and will not be available, as much as I would love to be. I unfortunately cannot have any dogs in my home right now but I am happy to come to you or take the elsewhere for an outing!

About: An animal lover since I was a little girl, I’ve happily cared for many pets and animals in my life, including horses, dogs, cats, birds, fish, guinea pigs, even a snake! I adore all animals and think we can learn a lot from them, but I have a soft spot for our furry four legged friends. Over the years I’ve cared for many neighbors’, friend’s and family pets while they’ve been away, whether house sitting or inviting their pets into my cozy home for a little staycation. I don’t have any pets currently and am dearly missing the company, so I’d love to care for yours! I’m a very cuddly, attentive, reliable and playful pet owner who will shower your pet with love and care, and send many photos and updates. I typically work full time Monday through Friday, with a few days working from home in between. Weekends are usually wide open, and I’d love to fill them with a furry friend! Fridays - Mondays are most flexible for me, but I’d love to play around with my schedule to suit your needs! I live in a residential, pet-friendly neighborhood that’s perfect for walks or runs. I have a yard but no fence, so will be extra careful when going outside. Lots of comfy rugs, pillows, and furniture inside for lounging :) happy to crate your dog if desired, or house sit if preferred. Very flexible!

About: I am originally from Roanoke, Virginia. I grew up with a very loyal Springer Spaniel. My wife and I had a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Pitbull mix and a Black Lab/Rottweiler mix that lived to the happy old ages of 13 and 16 years old respectively. We lived and worked at a non-profit dog rescue in Eugene, Oregon where we cared for all kinds of dogs and puppies, from Chihuahuas to Great Danes. Some of these dogs were dealing with some pretty hefty allergy and/or anxiety projects. I am a young at heart, athletic and energetic college graduate. My wife and I have a holistic wellness practice where we receive human clients, as well as animals. All of my work with dogs includes this service when appropriate. We currently live in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawai'i. Pet care is a major part of my life. My wife and I have a pet care business offering regular weekly visits/walks, as well as overnight pet sitting. We care for our clients pets as we would care for our own, remembering that every individual is unique. The animals in our lives are treated with the same love and compassion as our friends and family members. We do not board at our home. We come to your home, where your pet is most comfortable, and we do our best to maintain their normal routine, minimalizing stress and anxiety.
