“Michelle is absolutely the best Rover ever! She welcomed the opportunity to take care of wonderful rescue doodle Bella and cat Spirit. She is so skilled and confident with both of the pets, building a relationship on their terms. Spirit fell in love with Michelle first and Bella took a little longer. Michelle handled every step of the way toward winning Bella's heart with her exceptional experience leading the way. Major moments of trust were built every visit with pets and liver treats and she totally won Bella over with love and successful walk on Bella's terms! All the while she balanced Spirit visits with every toy in the house, endless bubbles and pets. Michelle is amazing.”

About: I can devote a lot of time to dogs during the day as I work mostly from home. Daily walks are a definite part of their stay with me. I have owned and pet-sat labs and medium sized mutts, but also pet-sit small dogs and enjoy them all for their distinct personalities. As I mostly work from home, I have time to take the dog out for a walk and look after it throughout the day. When I go places, I take the pet with me if the weather and the destination allows it. I will never leave the dog in my car for any length of time and definitely never in the summer. My home is pet-safe and I have a fenced yard. The dog will never be left alone for extended periods of time. I have a fenced yard. The dog will have its bed set up in the living room and the bowls on the floor in the kitchen. I follow the owner's directions on feeding, meds, etc. precisely. If I visit the dog at the client's home, I will plan to spend time with it, feed it and take it for a walk.

“Veronica, thank you so much for caring for our two kitties. They were well taken care of while we were away and we had zero concerns about them while we were gone.”

“Lynette was so great with our lab!”

About: I am a fish biologist, but love all animals. I am new to Rover, but my friends and coworkers regularly rely on me to care for their pets. I have cared for dogs with special needs, such as epilepsy, senior dogs and puppies. I have done basic dog training courses with my 30 lb tripod dog and volunteered walking dogs at my local shelter. I will treat your furry family member with love and care! I work remotely from 8-4:30 pm on weekdays, so I’m available to provide attention and fun for your pet most of the day. I usually go to the office on Wednesdays, but I can accommodate if your pet cannot be alone very long. I am an active person and would love to take your dog to the park or beach or for walks on trails, if they do well in those settings. If your dog is lower energy, I can match that energy too! I am excellent at following directions and will follow your pets normal schedule. I am observant and will pay attention to your dog’s well-being. You can expect clear and consistent communication if you trust me with your furry family member. House sitting: I am happy to take your dog for multiple walks a day and accommodate special food or medication schedules. I am a respectful, clean, non-smoker, in my 30s. I work from home on weekdays, so would just require internet access. Boarding: If you prefer to board at my place, I live on a partially fenced, three acre property in the forest with my partner, Troy, another fish biologist. We have chickens in a fenced in area, a dog and an indoor/outdoor cat. There is a creek between our house and the street. I usually take my dog out for two walks a day and outside in the yard with supervision, or unsupervised in a completely fenced in porch where she loves to sunbathe.

“Thank you for always being on time! And great communication. I look forward to using your services again!”

About: I’ve lived with dogs since my first memory. I grew up on a farm, and we had 3-6 dogs at any given time. When I went to college, I adopted the first dog I would raise on my own -- he lived almost 15 happy years. I rescued another pup in my mid-thirties — he’s going on 7, and we’re best buds. So, I have experience taking care of puppies, seniors, and every age in between. My dogs and I have participated in puppy schools and worked 1:1 with excellent dog trainers -- in each case, I learned as much as my dog. I believe dogs just want to give love and get love back. This emotional reciprocation, along with adequate exercise and a healthy diet, makes for a happy, healthy dog. I believe every dog is good by nature, and, as humans, we have a responsibility to provide dogs with a nurturing environment in which they can be their good-natured, happy selves. I love connecting with a new dog, understanding its world and experience. With empathy from this connection, I find it easier to care for a dog and provide the type of love any particular dog needs and wants -- through daily routines, fun-hearted play, and plenty of attention. Ultimately, this leads to a more enjoyable relationship between human and canine. While I’m primarily a dog person, I grew up with lots of cats on the farm and have lived with and cared for cats here and there as an adult. I feel comfortable with cats and understand their needs. I understand the trust required to let someone else take care of your pet. My promise is to always be building and reinforcing my trustworthiness as a caregiver to animals and plants. I walk my dog every day. I understand some dogs need more than one walk per day, depending on their energy level. I also make sure my dog gets outside several times a day to enjoy the fresh air and relieve them. I will do the same for yours, based on your preferences. At this time, I work from home, so my availability for drop-ins or walks is very flexible. I am calm, gentle, and patient and aim to create an environment where the dogs I care for can feel and act the same. When walking, I like to keep dogs on a 6-foot leash (not a retractable leash) and keep the dog walking forward as opposed to stopping every few seconds. I consider myself the leader (not the dog) and intend to set a vibe where the dog understands they have a job to do -- walk!
“LoLo was great! My kitty was very well taken care of and given lots of love. I appreciated and enjoyed all the updates and pictures that she sent. Will definitely try to rebook with her again. 😊”

About: I have been dog sitting for years but started Rover in 2022. I started out caring for my two pugs and cat, and have been sitting for family, friends, and folks on Rover. I am currently working as an overnight nursing assistant on Sunday-Tuesday, so I have plenty of time to take care and play with your pet! The rest of the days I am here to help, so they can get all the love and attention they can get while you’re away! When I am at a client’s home I make sure fencing is secured if needed. My home has a fence as well. I also make sure they have enough place to play whether it could be inside or out. I prefer to be outside with them! I love being active with animals but if you’re pet is somewhat a couch potato OR old, I can comfort them in whatever way they feel comfortable.

About: Experienced pet sitter. Experience with reactive dogs. Happy to give your dog extra care and attention. Fenced in front and back yard. Must be okay with another friendly dog in the home. I typically do a morning walk after breakfast, and a nighttime walk after dinner. If a dog is staying with me, I usually avoid middle of the day walks as the pavement outside can get hot on warmer days. However I do have a fenced in yard and a deck, which is cooler in the middle of the day if they would like to explore. I have a fenced in yard, and a metal crate is your dog is used to crate training. I have a 5 year old lab/ Shepard mix who loves to play, but could also keep him separated if requested. I have plenty of toys but you are also welcome to bring any toys with you, put they may get lost under our deck! Dogs are welcome on the furniture and just about anywhere as long as they are properly trained not to potty on furniture!

“Alison checked in on our dog Archie while we were gone for a few hours. She was prompt, sent a photo and remembered to put Archie in his crate when she left (per instructions). Archie can be very enthusiastic with new people and she wasn't phased at all. She also came for a pre-meet even though it was a bit of a drive for her.”

“I have trusted Marti with my dog for over 5 years. When I travel, I know that my pup is in good hands, and my routine I have with my dog will continue to be respected. When I come back, my dog is not exhausted like he was when I used to board him. This shows that he was well taken care of, and not stressed. My pup also eats at Marti’s, when he didn’t eat at his boarding kennel. I have nothing but good things to say about Marti as a sitter.”

My dog is a border collie and was a rescue with a troubled background so she is very scared and Angel was absolutely incredible with her! I’ve never seen my dog warm up to someone so quickly. She was not ready to come home she was having so much fun! I would highly recommend Angel for how professional, caring, attentive and loving she is.
