About: As the proud owners to two wonderful little rescue dogs, a cat, some chickens, guinea fowl, goats and sheep, we know how hard it can be sometimes to find care for your pets and farm animals while you are away. We will provide the same level of care and kindness that I would want and expect for our own spoiled pets. Trust is an important part of pet care and petsitting, and we want you to be able to confidently, and without worry, leave your pampered pups and kitties in our care. We live on a small farm in rural Western Maryland, about 20 minutes west of Frederick. We have experience with all kinds of animal care, from horses, cows, goats, sheep, and poultry. We are currently able to provide drop-in visits for dogs, cats, and a variety of farm animals, as well as house or farm sitting, and in home boarding, as well as hourly dog park style use of our large fenced yard. Your pets will be a happy addition to our family in our home! Our whole property is fenced by 4 ft or taller board and wire fencing, with smaller areas sectioned off in the front and back yards. The driveway is gated and secure. We want your pets to feel as safe as our own. Leah and Andrew are both available for petsitting services. We currently work only at home, tending our farm homestead, and have a flexible schedule. We are able to drop in one or two times a day, or less or more often, as needed. We treat every animal as if it were our own and provide a level of care that we would expect from our pet care provider.

About: My family and I absolutely love dogs we lost ours recently and I am not ready to get another one but would love to care for yours like he/she was our own. I have 3 very energetic kiddos that would love to play with and give lots of love and cuddles to your fur baby. I am a stay at home mom, we have no other animals of any kind so your fur baby will have all the attention when they stay with us. Please be understanding that no pets in the bed, its a very full bed already with 3 kids under 6.

Overall, I am so happy I found Alex and Christina. They were very accommodating to our pup. He is a bit anxious but A&C we’re very understanding and knew how to manage his behavior and make him feel comfortable. Our dog is on the smaller side and he was in a house with bigger dogs, but they all took their time before I left him to make him feel acclimated with his new daycare mates. I would definitely recommend these folks, they have a great professional demeanor and are very communicative and welcoming. Their space was clean and their dogs seemed very happy and healthy! This place is a great alternative to big chain kennels, we thought about Dogtopia- but they seemed so overcrowded and the dogs just seemed stressed out. Six stars for Alex and Christina! Thank you!

Colleen was such an incredible local find to help care for our Bernedoodle, Leia! She was very professional and thorough in our meet and greet - you could tell she truly loves dogs!! We loved the video snippets/photos we received during Leia's first day camp. Leia was very happy and tired when she came home and we look forward to her enjoying many more visits this summer to keep her social and active!

Tux has always been anxious when left behind, but did very well with Emily all day. She was very attentive to his needs and he got along well with her other daycare pup. She sent numerous pictures and answered my texts right away when I checked in on him. She asked permission to take him on a short ride in her car, which I granted since he loves car rides and hates being left behind. I will definitely book with her again. Thanks, Emily, for taking such great care of our boy.

About: I cared for my beloved dog for 10 years, treating him like my first baby. Now, I'm eager to share that love and care with your furry friend, giving them the attention and affection they deserve. I work remotely, so I'm home most of the day and get to spend lots of time with the pets I care for. That means plenty of potty breaks, playtime, walks, and snuggles throughout the day. I love making pets feel comfortable and keeping their routine as normal as possible. My goal is for them to feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. 💛 I promise to keep your pet safe and cherished by following your instructions carefully and creating a cozy, secure environment. I’ll send you regular updates, so you can rest easy knowing your furry friend is in caring and attentive hands. 💖

Dropped Boone off to spend the day prior to Lauren watching him while I’m out of town. Lauren took great care of Boone and was very attentive based on the feedback. Boone loved the backyard, playing with toys and With Zoe and Cola. The pics sent were great as well. Booking another day for Boone before his longer stay! Definitely recommend Lauren.

About: I’ve had pets since I was a kid. I love animals, as they are the most loving and authentic little beings. I’ve always had dogs and have taken care of family/friends/neighbors’ dogs when needed. I offer boarding, walks, a fenced in yard and socialization with my children and my own pets. Your pup will be in good hands and loved! My household always has an adult home for walks or ability to go out in the yard at anytime. We pop in and out on sports practice days in the evenings and for games on the weekends. Never more than 2 hours at a time. I have a large fenced in yard, can crate your pup and can offer walks, the ability to sit or lay on furniture, socialization for my kids, and socialization for my dog and other pets

This was Jax's first time with Nat and Ally and it was fantastic. They kept me updated most of the day with very fun-loving photos of the other dogs playing...Jax was smiling in every photo or just chillin'. The icing on the cake was the family's son handing me a drawing of Jax's name in big beautiful letters. I will definitely be sending Jax here again! :)

I cannot say enough good things about her. She watched my dog Batman and was absolutely amazing. As a nervous dog mom, I was worried at first, but she completely put me at ease. She sent pictures and videos constantly, kept me updated the whole time, and made sure I always knew how my boy was doing.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 1,051 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Knoxville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Knoxville commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,051 sitters in Knoxville, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
