He is a bit anxious but A&C we’re very understanding and knew how to manage his behavior and make him feel comfortable. Our dog is on the smaller side and he was in a house with bigger dogs, but they all took their time before I left him to make him feel acclimated with his new daycare mates. I would definitely recommend these folks, they have a great professional demeanor and are very communicative and welcoming. Their space was clean and their dogs seemed very happy and healthy! This place is a great alternative to big chain kennels, we thought about Dogtopia- but they seemed so overcrowded and the dogs just seemed stressed out. Six stars for Alex and Christina! Thank you!”

About: As the proud owners to two wonderful little rescue dogs, a cat, some chickens, guinea fowl, goats and sheep, we know how hard it can be sometimes to find care for your pets and farm animals while you are away. We will provide the same level of care and kindness that I would want and expect for our own spoiled pets. Trust is an important part of pet care and petsitting, and we want you to be able to confidently, and without worry, leave your pampered pups and kitties in our care. We live on a small farm in rural Western Maryland, about 20 minutes west of Frederick. We have experience with all kinds of animal care, from horses, cows, goats, sheep, and poultry. We are currently able to provide drop-in visits for dogs, cats, and a variety of farm animals, as well as house or farm sitting, and in home boarding, as well as hourly dog park style use of our large fenced yard. Your pets will be a happy addition to our family in our home! My whole property is fenced by 4 ft or taller board and wire fencing, with smaller areas sectioned off in the front and back yards. The driveway is gated and secure. I want your pets to feel as safe as my own. I currently work only at home, tending our farm homestead, and have a flexible schedule. I'm able to drop in one or two times a day, or less or more often, as needed. I treat every animal as if it were my own and provide a level of care that I give my own and that I would expect from my pet care provider.

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them is truly second nature to me. I’ve worked in a veterinary office for five years—both in the kennel and as a veterinary assistant—so I’m comfortable handling pets with all kinds of needs, from energetic puppies to seniors who need a gentler touch. I earned my Bachelor’s in Animal Science from Virginia Tech and my Master’s in Animal Science from Clemson University. Throughout school, I worked in research labs and on university farms, gaining hands‑on experience with many species and learning how to care for animals in a wide range of situations. I now live in Harpers Ferry with my two dogs and six chickens, and I work for an animal genetics company. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, cattle, goats, and more. I’ve raised orphaned animals, supported very sick pets, and provided long‑term care for elderly companions. My husband also has experience caring for his family’s pets and helps care for ours, so your pet will always have someone attentive nearby. At home, I currently have Hallie, a Brittany spaniel mix, and Beamer, an Aussie mix—both friendly, social pups who love having new friends around. Whether you’re local and planning a getaway or visiting the area and need a trusted sitter, I’d love to welcome your furry family member into our home and treat them like one of our own. I work from home so I am able to be with your pet all day for doggy daycare and pet sitting. I am available for drop-in visits during the day in the Harpers Ferry area. I have a large fenced in yard and extra crates! I allow animals do be on my furniture as long as that is what their owner allows. My dogs are very active so frequent walks are great!

About: Hello! My name is Astri, and I have been watching dogs and cats for over 17years. I occasionally pet sit my brothers dog Milo. He is a husky and lab mix. He is the only large size dog that I pet sit in my home because he has been in the family since he was a pup. He is more like my nephew then a pet. I’m currently only willing to watch small dogs at the moment. I want to be able to provide the best care for your furry kids and be able to protect and keep them safe especially during walks. I am a stay at home mom, so this means I am available for boarding on weekends, week days, and holidays. All day 24/7 care. I live in a dog friendly neighborhood and near by walking trails. About: I have a reputation at the dog park for the dogs flocking to me as I arrive. I teach them to jump through the agility equipment and roll over. I run with them and give them plenty of scratches and hugs. Our late dog was my hiking companion along the C&O Canal (a five minute walk from our house), local segments of the Appalachian Trail, local parks and the woods and historic district of Harpers Ferry. I’m currently looking for daily opportunities to spend more time with dogs and provide the opportunities they need for exercise and human companionship. I’m very keen on early morning and evening walks during the summer but available most days. Our late dog was a shepherd/retriever mix,I regularly took her to the dog park to play with her friends or to run the short agility course I trained her to run when she was young. I am always on the lookout for poison ivy or possible tick habitats and careful to help the dog manage in potentially stressful situations along the way. I always stop at street corners and do not proceed until all cars have passed (even the ones that insist you go first) so that the dog will understand that we do not cross the street when cars are present.

About: I have been a pet parent for over twenty years. We currently have three dogs: Bacon the Boston Terrier and Dottie and Lily the Pugs, as well as our Siamese cat Petunia. In the past we have raised and cared for all types of dogs, from pit bulls to Chihuahuas, as many as six cats at once, birds including Cockatiels and Parrots, rats , hamsters, and gerbils, turtles and various reptiles, and both fresh- and saltwater fish. I run my pet care business full time from my home and from our custom Dottie's Day Trippers van. I am available any time, day or night. Our house is set up for both dogs and cats, with a fenced yard and plenty of gates for separation as needed, and the Day Trippers van is safe and comfortable.
