Jennifer was amazing! She was communicated with me about everything and was open and kind about all the things she needed from me. She also took amazing care of my silly dog and sent great pictures of him having fun. When I got my pup back he was happy and tired which is an amazing combination for a husky! We appreciate you and your help so much and will definitely be returning the next time we are in town!

Alex and Christina were amazing with Bucky. We booked them last minute and they were so accommodating! They gave me regular updates the whole time he was with them - photos and videos. Bucky has separation anxiety so it was a huge relief to have him with people who know so much about dogs and could take such great care of him. The next time we’re having a night out in Frederick we will definitely book them again!!

Dropped Boone off to spend the day prior to Lauren watching him while I’m out of town. Lauren took great care of Boone and was very attentive based on the feedback. Boone loved the backyard, playing with toys and With Zoe and Cola. The pics sent were great as well. Booking another day for Boone before his longer stay! Definitely recommend Lauren.

About: Hi all! I am interested in doing some petsitting to find some dog friends for my pup. I am not a full-time dog sitter, however, I'd like to find some more dogs that my dog will play with & hopefully build some puppy friendships. I live in Leesburg and WFH. I work from home & my dog is cage free all day. We usually do a longer walk in the mornings (between 6-7am) and play outside when it's cooler, then a short walk around lunch time, and another walk around sunset. Bedtime is around 9:30 in our house. Ideally I'd like to find other low-medium energy dogs that play well with my dog and can be trusted to free roam/play around my townhouse while I work. We go out for lunch time play around the neighborhood so good leash manners is a must.

About: As the proud owners to two wonderful little rescue dogs, a cat, some chickens, guinea fowl, goats and sheep, we know how hard it can be sometimes to find care for your pets and farm animals while you are away. We will provide the same level of care and kindness that I would want and expect for our own spoiled pets. Trust is an important part of pet care and petsitting, and we want you to be able to confidently, and without worry, leave your pampered pups and kitties in our care. We live on a small farm in rural Western Maryland, about 20 minutes west of Frederick. We have experience with all kinds of animal care, from horses, cows, goats, sheep, and poultry. We are currently able to provide drop-in visits for dogs, cats, and a variety of farm animals, as well as house or farm sitting, and in home boarding, as well as hourly dog park style use of our large fenced yard. Your pets will be a happy addition to our family in our home! Our whole property is fenced by 4 ft or taller board and wire fencing, with smaller areas sectioned off in the front and back yards. The driveway is gated and secure. We want your pets to feel as safe as our own. Leah and Andrew are both available for petsitting services. We currently work only at home, tending our farm homestead, and have a flexible schedule. We are able to drop in one or two times a day, or less or more often, as needed. We treat every animal as if it were our own and provide a level of care that we would expect from our pet care provider.

About: It's a family affair and we treat yours like ours. As a family, we've been fostering rescue puppies and dogs for more than 18 years, providing care, training, medical support and, of course, lots of love. Whether you need a last-minute pop in for a potty break and snuggle, a walk with some basic leash training, or a week-long sitter, we can help. Someone is always around and working from home between mom, dad or our 2 college students so even last minute "going to happy hour" requests can be accommodated. We would love to meet you and your furry family! We're available on most days and times and can be flexible to meet your pet's needs. Last minute need or emergency? No problem! I can work to fit you in and have a backup team (aka college-age kids) who love pets as much as I do! We treat yours like ours - like Family! Your pet's comfort and happiness is most important. Once we get to know each other, we can have nice walks with some play and/or snuggle time - whatever they need! We only take one pet at a time for in-home services like boarding and doggie daycare and integrate them into our home. We even have a doggie door into a fenced yard but I prefer to do potty breaks/ walks as needed. I'm comfortable administering medications as prescribed and understand that every dog come with their own routine and special needs.

Phil and Amanda are amazing. Our two pugs can be skittish around other dogs and Phil and Amanda paired them with the perfect duo to help them get more comfortable. They took them on numerous walks and even let them snuggle in bed on an early morning drop off. I can’t recommend them more and I’ll use them again when we come to town.

About: Hi, I’m Tori! Services I offer: • CAT Boarding ONLY - NO DOGS (My Home) • House Sitting (Overnight Care) • Drop Ins • Dog Walking • Doggy Daycare I just graduated from JMU and am offering pet sitting services while I am in grad school for radiation oncology! I specialize in caring for both cats and dogs of all breeds and ages. Why you should book with me :) • Fast communication and reliable updates • Flexible schedule • Daily photo and message updates • Experience with medication administration • Skilled with shy, anxious, and senior pets • Multi-pet household experience • Fostered 20+ cats and kittens • Volunteered at an animal shelter and cat café for 3 years • Farm animal experience While I’m relatively new to Rover, I’ve spent years caring for animals both personally and professionally, including working for a pet sitting company during my breaks from school. I’ll make sure your pets receive the attention, love, and consistency they deserve while you’re away! A little more about me: The past 3 years at college, I have volunteered at an animal shelter and cat cafe! I’ve fostered 20 cats and kittens! From administering medications to helping shy kitties come out of their shells, I’m proud to say they’ve all found loving homes! I’ve cared for cats and dogs my entire life and have also had birds, guinea pigs, fish. I’m very comfortable with pets who need extra care and patience. In addition to dogs and cats, I have extensive experience with horses and barn animals. I grew up riding horses competitively and have worked with goats, chickens, donkeys, and other farm animals. If you have additional barnyard friends, I’m happy to help care for them too! Feel free to reach out with any questions—I’d love to meet you and your pets! I’m on summer/winter break which means I’m able to take care of your furry friends! I am extremely active and when I’m not pet sitting I’m usually at the gym getting some more exercise! As a pet sitter, my top priority when taking care of your pet is safety and high quality care. This includes monitoring their health, and overall well-being. Maintaining a pet-friendly environment, keeping an eye out for any irregular behavior, and making sure your pet is happy and healthy are my goals when taking care of your fur babies! I make sure all animals are cared for to my best ability and to be very quiet and extra gentle to one’s that are more shy or timid. I stay with the pets usually for 30 minutes unless stated otherwise to ensure that they are getting the love and attention they deserve.

We had a great experience with Colleen. This was our pups first time going to a daycare and Colleen was amazing with the entire process. She has a lot of knowledge about handling anxious dogs and gave us great ideas on socializing Kyro going forward. He came back very happy. Kyro had an amazing time.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Taylorstown commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,711 sitters in Taylorstown, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
