About: Hi my Name is Amanda! I am now a retired Sport Dog trainer. Now I call myself a Sport dog training enthusiast as I don’t take training clients anymore due to career change. Haha! I have an passion for dogs and horses! I've ridden horses since I was 7 years old. I have ample experience with all aspects of equine care & nutritional needs. And heavy experience with dogs in ALL aspects. Specifically high-drive working dog breeds: Bordercollies, Belgian Malinois, Mcnabs, & German Sheperds. I'm looking to fill in some extra time, by helping you care for your pet while you have to be away! I would give your dog mental and physical exercise, to keep your dog healthy while in my care! 😃 • Additional care availability for: cats, rodents or reptiles, equine, sheep/goats, pigs, fish. Further experience details: Currently I’m established as a volunteer with with 5 different non-profit rescue organizations. Since 2008 I have fostered many dogs, cats, & guinea pigs. Most recent years, I mainly do volunteer transport, rehabilitation fostering, some short-term emergency foster, & complete/write behavioral assessments for dogs in city/county municipal animal shelters. In 2019 I started sport dog training. I have experience in training competitive dog frisbee, beginning/intermediate herding, behavioral work, agility, and basic obedience. I have intensive experience with the treatment & rehabilitation care requirements of dog sport injuries. Feeding regimen per owners care-plan. Bathroom & exercise time will be a mutually agreed and built part of your pets care plan. All dogs needs are different. I am home all day & only leave for errands or outings for my two children. I do not live with others AND do not have frequent visitors. My children ARE experienced with respecting & reading dog behavior, and do not partake in the care & interaction of boarding clients. Your pets will never be allowed to be *un-supervised loose in the home or yard. I run a very highly managed schedule for all pets in my home to meet all pets needs. Your pet will be in a crate when I rotate dogs in the yard. They will have AMPLE time outside of their crate consistently through the day for potty, exercise, & 1 on 1 time play/petting. My personal dogs are all Dog-neutral & extremely friendly, they do not have dog-to-dog reactivity problems. They would LOVE to play with your DOG FRIENDLY/PLAYFUL dogs. *Though your dogs will not be allowed loose with my personal dogs unless owner gives clear permission.* •All dogs will be crated when supervision is not available. Your dog should have crate training experience before boarding with me to help make your pets time in a dog crate familiar 😃 ••*I am willing to take non-crate trained dogs. But for your pets comfort they should be exposed to being in a crate in your own home prior to boarding.* •• *highly reactive or crate stressed dogs with destructive behaviors will need to have a solid sided plastic crate of appropriate size for pet by the owner for the boarding duration*

“Shan has over 30 years of professional animal care and handling experience. He studied animal behaviors and knows breed specifics along with characteristics and is always willing to share some knowledge to those interested. He truly loves what he does. His compassion and caring nature naturally makes animals feel comfortable, relaxed, appreciated and loved! I trust him with my dogs including my more challenging one and they all love him and the attention and care he gives to them.”

Christine R.
“There are very few people that I trust my babies with, but Christine is definitely at the top of my list! She is so loving and compassionate to all species. Everything from the smallest reptiles to the largest horses, she has shown a vast knowledge on the care, training, and everyday tasks that pets need. It doesn’t matter if it’s a house pet like a cat or dog, or farms animals such as goats, chickens, llamas, horses, cattle, ect.. Christine can care for them all, and she knows exactly what each needs to live their happiest life. You can be assured that your babies will be treated like her own while in her care.”

Mary C.

“Mary was seriously THE BEST EVER. She loved on the fur babies as if they were her own. She took care of the house and left it how she found it. She responded quickly and sent all the updates and pictures of the pups. We’re new to town and finding someone you trust with your animals is hard, but Mary made it so easy to let go and enjoy our trip. We can’t wait to have her again, I know the fur babies miss her already.”

Bre B.

“Bre was awesome! She watched my sweet Oso, in my house, for 3 days while I was out of town. I just came back to a clean house and happy dog. couldn’t ask for anything more. Thank you Bre and I’ll be back in touch for a rebook soon!”

Alexandria B.
“Alex has been hiking, walking, and caring for our (super active) Border Collie, Bailey, for over a year. Bailey waits eagerly at the front window for her to arrive and can not wait to go beach hiking, park walking, or playing with her. Alex is absolutely wonderful with dogs, especially active dogs. At the end of their hikes, Alex always takes the greatest care to check for foxtails or other burrs in Bailey’s fur. While he is sometimes resistant with us doing this, he never is with Alex. Bailey adores Alex, and always has a blast when they are together. Added bonus for us, he always comes home exhausted! We highly recommend Alex, she’s awesome with dogs!”

Serena G.
About: I’ve had many pets my entire life and have always had the responsibility of caring for them! My neighbors and family members have had me pet sit for their fur babies many times over the years :) I’m currently working part time so I have mostly open availability. I am able to work with your schedule and whichever days you need me. I do prefer to work outside of my home, as I do have my own pets that may not get along with new friends. However, I think keeping a pet where they’re comfortable in their home while introducing a new face can be super helpful for the sitter and pet!

Kasara S.
“I have known kasara for about 5 years and am confident enough to say she is absolutely great with animals! My family and I traveled a lot and she was always up for watching our dogs Susie and BO. They still love her and visit her to this day! You won’t be disappointed!”

Hailey A.

“Hailey did a great job watching our pup She is a very caring and responsible person. We felt comfortable being away from our home knowing Hailey was there to take good care. We highly recommend her and will be calling on her again.”

Brandon L.
“Brandon has been volunteering with me at the Evanston Animal Shelter for several years. He and his wife Vanessa are two of the most caring and compassionate people I know. As volunteers at the shelter, our shifts consist of walking the dogs, feeding, administering medicine, training, cleaning, and so much more. As a city shelter, we accept all different sizes and breeds of dogs, and Brandon is able to comfortably handle all of them. He also works as an adoption counselor during the week, helping potential adopters find their perfect doggie match. Brandon has fostered several dogs for the shelter, including an older partially blind/deaf dog, and a mama dog with her newborn puppies. His experience at the shelter has given him the opportunity to work with all different kinds of dogs and behaviors, both good and bad, so he is prepared for just about anything! Brandon has 3 adorable dogs at home, all of whom are perfectly spoiled, and I know he will take the same great care of any dogs that are under his charge.”

About: I’ve taken care of and been around multiple types of dogs since I was a child. In high school, I did volunteer work at a local shelter, there I was put in charge of cleaning and sanitizing the kennels, changing the water and food bowels, and alternating outdoor dogs for their exercise time. Dogs have been the main type of animals I’ve looked after and worked with the most, but I am also familiar with most farm life animals. Regularly having goats, ducks, and chickens as part of my life. I am comfortable with most mammals and aquatic life creatures as well :) There is nothing that brings me more joy in life than to spend my time with animals and caring for them. If I could, I’d have a whole farm with so many dogs and farm animals running around! I’m now a doggy nanny hahah! The longest I’ve stayed at a client’s house has been two weeks and during that time I’ve been able to bond with their pets and I also took care of the house, picking up mail, maintaining plants, garbage — anything that is discussed ahead of time I don’t mind! I’m currently waiting for my secured job to get to me about training in May because of that, I mostly reside at home looking after my own pets and figuring out what the next step is in life :) There is always someone home looking after out dogs and making sure they get the proper care they need. The location of the home does not allow for a fenced yard unfortunately, but our dogs are never left unattended when outdoors. Our oldest dog is seven and we’ve had her since she was a puppy without any accidents! I take looking after pets seriously since I consider my own dogs family. My location of residence is out in the country with limited neighbors, meaning that there is plenty of on leash walking that can be done right behind my house.
