“Allison did a great job taking care of my dogs and cats!! She sent plenty of great photos to us, I could see that the dogs loved her. There were pictures of the cats cuddling with her as well :). I also really appreciated the after summary she wrote and left on the table for us. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants great care of their pets!”

“Fantastic as always- we added a puppy into the mix so Caroline stayed at our home and was wonderful with our dogs! The puppy LOVED and bonded with her dog Gator. Will def book with Caroline again”

About: I can work with dogs that have anxiety and aggressive. And cats too and any other animals. As I love animals of any size big or small Saturday-Sunday I can do anytime Monday-Friday after 2:30pm unless I'm staying in the house sitting and petsitting. Then time doesn't really matter as much then. Environment would be your home as I rent and they don't allow petsitting. Depends if yard is fence area if it is then I will play ball with them.
“Ashleigh was great companion for our pup ella bean! She went above and beyond when she had a car issue and still got to our pup and take care of her! She was very happy when we got home. She also went above and beyond helping us keep plants watered and odds and ends.! Highly recommended!”

“Lillie house sat for us and took exceptional care of our two cats and dog. We came home to a tidy house and happy pets and appreciated the daily updates and proactive communication. We will definitely hire her again!”

“We booked Soly last-minute to watch our pup over a long-weekend after our usual sitters weren't available. Soly was very quick to respond to our messages and thorough in his replies. He came to our meet-and-greet ready with questions so that he would be fully prepared for his time in our home with Tuuli. He was very thorough and curteous. We got regular updates with photos and came home to a happy dog and clean house. He even left a little thank you note and treat for Tuuli! We would happily have him house sit again.”

About: I have a long experience with dogs as both a dog owner and a dog foster home. I dog sit for friends and family regularly. I am reliable and responsible with pets. I love taking dogs on walks, to the park, and giving attention. A stay in our home will allow for a large fenced in yard and tons of attention. I currently have two friendly and trained dogs in the home that love to play. I am a teacher so have been federal background checked and can be trusted in your home. I have an open schedule in the summer and flexible schedule the remainder of year so your pet will receive a lot of attention from me. Even when working, I am able to stop at home to let the dogs out and give them attention twice per day. I have a fenced in yard and two dogs to keep your pet company. We go on daily walks and play in the backyard. I have experience with dog training and behavior so am able to attune to your pets needs while I care for them.
“Kelly is attentive and communicative. She watched our dog who doesn’t like fireworks after the 4th of July and Kelly was kind and updated us frequently to let us know that Arya was doing great. She is extremely respectful of your home and all around awesome!! Highly recommend - our dog loved hanging out with her!”

About: I've had cats my whole life, so I'm used to the day to day of caring for an animal and noticing when something's off. I've also dog sat for my aunt a handful of times: feeding, walks, letting them out, and keeping them company. I'm reliable and I actually pay attention. I'll follow whatever routine your pet is already used to instead of forcing my own, and I'll send updates so you're not left wondering how they're doing while you're away. My schedule is flexible right now, so I have plenty of time during the day for walks, drop-in visits, and check-ins, including weekdays. I'm happy to work around whatever your pet's routine already is rather than making them fit mine, and I can be reliable about timing. For visits and house sitting, I follow whatever routine you already have. You tell me the feeding, walks, and any quirks, and I stick to it exactly instead of improvising. I'll make sure doors and gates stay shut, keep an eye on how your pet is doing, and message you if anything seems off. I have a cat of my own at home, so I'm used to keeping an animal safe, fed, and on a schedule.
“Alissa is absolutely amazing!!! We just met but my pets already adore her 🐕💙 This makes leaving them easier ~ I know our babes are in great care! The Kelley family highly recommends Alissa!!”

“Michelle is wonderful with our 2 dogs. She sends frequent messages and some pictures to let us know how they are doing, which we appreciate. It gives us peace of mind while we are away from our babies.”

“We had such a wonderful experience having Emma watch our pets! She was incredibly caring, responsible, and attentive, and we felt completely comfortable knowing they were in her care. She kept us updated, followed all of our instructions, and made sure our pets were happy and well taken care of. It was such a relief to be able to enjoy our time away. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and will absolutely be using her again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, dependable, and genuinely loving toward animals!”
About: I have cared for dogs, cats, race and draft horses, chickens, cows, rabbits, hamsters, guinea Pigs, goats, snakes, birds, llamas, a monkey and lots of other creatures. I’d love to be able to help with your pet care needs. House sitting includes: Staying in your home with your pets. This means there needs to be a clean bed or place to sleep. While your pets will be in my care I will still need to be able to accommodate other responsibilities. Your pets will not be left for more than 7hours at a time. If your pets require 100% around the clock care, I unfortunately will not be able to accommodate this. Meet and greets are required before booking starts. Thank you so much for your time. My schedule is open and usually pretty flexible. I live in the Bailey area close to Half Moon Lake area and accepting new and reoccurring clients. I love meeting new animals! I make sure to provide a safe environment where your animal will feel confident and less stressed. I have experience administering medications and very detailed feedings. I like to pay attention to the pets routine so that they can have a sense of comfort while you are away there for most of the time I am flexible on times so they aren’t thrown so far off their routine.
“Amanda was great! She was dependable and reliable. She communicated every day with plenty of pic’s. She was all about time with the girls and snuggles. I could see how happy they were with her. She gave me peace of mind to be away on a work trip.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kent City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kent City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kent City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
