About: I’ve taken care of many different fury friends since I was a kid. I have currently have a dog of my own, but enjoy quality time with all animals:) I just graduated PA school and have not found a job yet, so I’m looking to make extra money. I have pretty open availability during the week. I love all animals! I respect all homes and make sure to leave everything better than I found it! I appreciate any tips/tricks to give your animal the best experience possible.
“Anna was fantastic! Such a reliable, responsible and caring sitter. My dog had an amazing week with her. She provided timely updates, photos and was the perfect host for my dog. She took my dog on walks and had play dates with her dog! It makes being away so easy when you know your pet is in great hands! I would 100% recommend Anna and will be using her again! A+”

“Deborah was fantastic! She watched my 10 year old rescue lab mix for a week, who required daily meds and lots of attention. She made adjustments to make sure she kept up with regular meds and eating. She also provided frequent updates and pictures! ❤️ Highly recommend!”

“Hanna was AMAZING! Our dog is anxious with new people but she was so patient and understanding with him. I get nervous leaving my dog, but Hanna made me feel so comfortable. She followed all of our instructions and kept us updated with everything. She was also a great house guest! We will absolutely be using Hanna again in the future.”

“Lillie stayed with my two dogs in our home for 10 days . She came over to meet them and again right before we left . Her communication prior to us leaving and while we were gone ,was awesome. She also accommodated big changes to our plans . The dogs did great and she sent pictures which made me happy ! This is my first experience with Rover and leaving someone I had just met with "my kids". Lillie did a great job. I would recommend her and will use her again .”

“Becki did a great job caring for our two dogs. She is a great communicator and sent photos each day! She left our home cleaner than she found it. We plan to use Becki again!”

“He was great sitter for our dog and cat. The cat was happy, relaxed, and clearly loved all the extra attention, while our dog — who is usually shy around new people — warmed up almost immediately. We received regular updates, photos, and messages that gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. They followed all feeding instructions, kept everything tidy, and treated our pets like family.”

“MacKenzie was great, staying the night with our dog Maizie and cat Woody. We had to cut our trip short and she was very understanding. You can tell she loves animals and that's the #1 thing we would look for.”

About: I have a long experience with dogs as both a dog owner and a dog foster home. I dog sit for friends and family regularly. I am reliable and responsible with pets. I love taking dogs on walks, to the park, and giving attention. A stay in our home will allow for a large fenced in yard and tons of attention. I currently have two friendly and trained dogs in the home that love to play. I am a teacher so have been federal background checked and can be trusted in your home. I have an open schedule in the summer and flexible schedule the remainder of year so your pet will receive a lot of attention from me. Even when working, I am able to stop at home to let the dogs out and give them attention twice per day. I have a fenced in yard and two dogs to keep your pet company. We go on daily walks and play in the backyard. I have experience with dog training and behavior so am able to attune to your pets needs while I care for them.
“Emily is AWESOME! Our puppies were so happy and loved while we were gone. She gave them cuddles, walks and even didn't mind all their kisses and Oliver snoring at night! Would highly recommend her!.”

About: I have years of experience caring for dogs and cats, including senior pets with special needs. I’m reliable, patient, and always make sure pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I’m a Senior Finance student at GVSU with a remote schedule. Looking to take on more responsibilities while I have a flexible schedule to do so. I maintain a safe, calm environment and closely follow each pet’s routine and care instructions. I’m attentive to behavior, medication needs, and comfort, whether caring for pets in my home or theirs.
“Alissa was an excellent sitter for our crew! She was responsive, easy to work with and left my house immaculate. I will be hiring her again and recommending her to everyone I know!”

“Fantastic as always- we added a puppy into the mix so Caroline stayed at our home and was wonderful with our dogs! The puppy LOVED and bonded with her dog Gator. Will def book with Caroline again”

About: I can work with dogs that have anxiety and aggressive. And cats too and any other animals. As I love animals of any size big or small Saturday-Sunday I can do anytime Monday-Friday after 2:30pm unless I'm staying in the house sitting and petsitting. Then time doesn't really matter as much then. Environment would be your home as I rent and they don't allow petsitting. Depends if yard is fence area if it is then I will play ball with them.

“Megan was wonderful with my Jilly....My girl felt completely comfortable with her and Megan was great about sending pictures! Came home to a happy pup! Will absolutely be using Megan again! Highly Recommend!”

“Amaya did a great job of caring for my elderly greyhound and my lively rat terrier mix while I was away for two weeks. Both of them have complicated medication regimens, but she handled it all like pro. I appreciated that she contacted me when she had questions about my older dog. I think my girls loved having her stay with them.”

“Kevin was great. He came for a meet and greet and my dog loved him. My dog seemed very comfortable with him. He communicated well and sent me updates and pictures of my dog while I was away. I would definitely book with him again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sparta
This is my first time booking with Kelly for house sitting and it definitely won't be the last! Kelly was absolutely great caring for my dog with special care needs with the inability to use her back legs. We had a list of care instructions and Kelly handled all these requests extremely well! Given my dogs situation, I am very cautious of who will be able to take care of her and can confidently say I will use Kelly again in the future! She also left my place tidy and neat upon my return

The average cost for House Sitting in Sparta on Rover is $37.45 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sparta walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sparta maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sparta choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
